That is too funny. I was wondering what to do with the weeds in the garden, I think I'll just let them grow and I'll go fishing!

I've never caught any of these, can you post pics of what they look like? What type of fly does a coconut trout prefer? size/color, include it all, I want to be prepared next time I'm in town.

I've been to the Lower Illinois many times, but other than Marval's I don't know of any other streamside locations to camp. Anyone else know anything different?

What kind of hops and barley are they made from? I would think you boys in Missouri are partial to Anheuser-Busch products.

Bluegill rock!!!! I got hooked on fly fishing by bluegill. I'm in central Oklahoma with the nearest trout stream about 2.5 hours away. I get my fix by chasing bluegill and other various panfish as often as I can. Poppers are the most fun, toss one out and be ready to set the hook. Bright colored nymphs also work well, chartreuse, orange, yellow, and red all attract em. I tie up soft hackles with a thread body and starling hackle aimed just for bluegill.

Well, you will be happy to know I have answered this question. The toe tags are sitting on my tying bench. So, here's the recipe: hook: Mustad size 14 dry fly thread: Uni 8/0 abdomen: turkey biot dyed caddis green wing: bleached elk hair thorax: dark green antron dubbing hackle: barred ginger or grizzly A variation on this I have tried in the past is to use an underwing of cdc and fish with a dropper. particulary deadly if the dropper is a green butt soft hackle.

I used a turkey biot dyed caddis green.

I have both the CV2 and Rio Grand. You can tell a difference past 40 feet. For my money, I would go with a double taper from Rio, for around 35.00 you can't beat it.

I don't need extras of my own flies back. Why not mix up the the leftovers and distribute randomly? Or save them for a fundraiser and auction them off at a later time?

Sorry I missed it, we were in Branson this week. I did run into Leonard who offered the invite, but the wife and daughter caught some kind of coughing fit so I couldn't get away. On the way home we stopped off and saw Michael. Can't wait to get back.

Vacation, this is what I will be doing next week. Fortunately I will be coming to Branson. Gotta love the 5 year old when you ask where she wants to go for vacation, "I wanna go shopping in Branson". Mom sighed, while I was overcome with glee at the thought of getting back to Taney. I won't have email access, but I will be fishing a few hours here and there.

Looks like a palmered soft hackle feather, maybe greyish dun in color. I can't quite tell what the underbody is though.
