  1. I have been trout fishing since I was 14. Started using a flyrod when I was 18. Started tying my own flies at 19, that was the year I first fished Taneycomo. My father took me, and we both have been hooked ever since. Last year I took my father-in-law down for his first trout fishing experience. He loved it so much, he is making me take him again this year. I have been fishing Taney for 10 years now and I have completely forgot about those trout parks.
  2. I have fished out west, and they have a similar problem with transporting spores from one river to another. They suggest to throughly clean your boots and wadders when leaving a stream and before entering another stream, as to not transport the spores with you. If you are to go to another stream within a day or so of fishing in a stream that you should place your wadders in the freezer over night to kill any spores that you may still have on them. I don't know about you, but I don't think my wife would like to see my wadders in the freezer. Also if you are not to go into another stream within 3-4 days that you should be fine because the spores would dry out and die. I believe that it is a bigger problem in the west, due to the fact that a totally new river system could be within a mile or two. It is really easy to fish several different rivers in a day.
  3. I have been filleting my trout for several years. Trout and catfish are the only fish that I keep. I don't get to do much crappie fishing, usually bass fishing. So when I want some fish to eat I usually have trout. I like them fried in Andy's just like the last guy. I will bake a few durring the year, but it is still using fillets. I believe it is a better presentation, and my wife likes not seeing the head on her plate. I usually clean the fish at the stream as if I were to keep them hole. When I get home I skin the fish and then fillet the meat off the bone.
  4. I guess I will need my concealed carry permit for that one.
  5. Is there a ramp fee at cooper creek ramp?
  6. That looks really cool. Looking forward to the other cameras.
  7. Phil, I am planning on coming down this weekend. How much water do you think they will be running. I am debating on bringing my boat or not. What do you think?
