I saw some trout lilly's just starting to bud.... that a great sign! dandelions have started.... time for some fried fritters red buds are starting,,, soon the dogwoods and crappie... and finally some May Apple jelly...... yummy

still pretty cool ... rain this week and some sun .. I think jd is right... you should start seeing them around the 15th.....

I also use the BPS micro lights.... and I have a med/lite for bigger things

Here's my take... I think you have every right to be upset.. you spent most of the day watching him catch fish.. you didnt catch any.. you had to help him load and unload his boat.. he used baits that caught fish and gave you ones that were not working.. you may have been in his boat..... even then I think it should have been discounted and not a full charge. (to cover gas) at the end he never offered you another trip for the "true" experince... then at the end you paid $225.... WOW! I dont guide out of a boat, I also have never been on a fishless night trip.. my worst night guiding was a 3 fish night ... and we agreed at 1/2 cost... 4 other people we talked to that night didnt catch anything (one of them was also a guide).. That was a good night... but crappy night of fishing.. this was the closest I ever came to a fishless on a guide trip... Yes I fish on a few trip... a few cast here and there... there has never been a night were I caught more then the people I had out out.. I may stay out a little longer then most guides.... but after our guided time (4-8+ hours) of catching.. I start fishing with them even then Im still watching and making sure they are still catching.

Man you're really going be ticked off (can use other words)... If philly wins their game tonight with out Reid...LOL this is the only comment ... I should not gloat about Indy's awesome comeback to beat the Chiefs!~

Just remember.... next one is 362 days away.... Had a great time... enjoyed the stories... even had some new faces... May have been small.... but it was GREAT! New Years day... at the fish hatchery ... pavillion ... parking lot of outlet #2 we usually start to gather about 10:30-11 am and start the cooking (you should smell it when we start)... a lot of us will be fishing ... and then we will get our goodies out ///

Who's in? The annual New Years get together is coming... I know in the past years the crowds have been getting smaller and smaller. But with the food, friends, BS that flies it keeps us coming back year after year... Who's in? Leonard

The boys and I went out this past weekend.... and had a heck of a score... this was one of 3 trees/logs.. just over 25 lbs of chicken of the woods,... found these on a Honey Locust..

You sir... are very mean!! I have yet to find a hen this year.. guess Im walking the woods this weekend The Hearty Hen soup... is very good... we made it last year... 4 times! also Hen goes really well in wild rice soup.... that was really good!

Im still a Maxima fan... 15 years and still wont change lines! I have found it all over.... For the most part, I ask Phil to get it for me.. But I have found it at Bass Pro in Springfield, Cabelas (in store or online), Feather Craft, The Fly Shop.. Its still a very popular line... BTW.. I think the small wal-mart just off 76 still carries it.. I think I saw it in there about a year ago..

A friend came in from Kansas and we decided to check out some fishing..... Awesome night... nice and cool... water just shut off and we start up top Its been almost 2 years since Ive been night fishing... YEP... same spots still produce!! I start off with a shad pattern I tied with the new FlyMens Mask... This was the fly's first time in Taneycomo waters! first fish of the night was a beauty of a brown 21in.... His first fish of the night was a AWESOME 23incher....... YES IT WAS KEPT DINNER!! Caught on a purple hibernator..... we keep switching on and off flies catching fish on just about anything we throw.. He landed a nice rainbow 21in on the newest member of my night fishing fllies Heavy Daze! We headed to the Gauntlet.. where we both started using the Heavy Daze... Hits on just about every cast.. Hook ups about every 3rd cast ... I maybe a little out of practice.. or it maybe because its a big fly! we pulled out 2 nice bows a 22 and a 20 ,, very dark in color.. he caught another brown about at the 20-21in mark... we caught all different sizes 12-17inchers... once we switched to the Heavy Daze.. we stopped seeing the smaller fish 16-20+ all in all awesome night... we both probably caught about 30 to 35 each,,, we headed up to outlet 2 where I fished about another hour and called it a night I was hurting so bad.... The next morning he texted me a couple of more pictures.... He tore them up all night... It was a nice mixture of fish.. there were a few people down there.. Here is the one I brought home for dinner!! POPPERS ANYONE!

Talking about the Cowboy's again..... Thought you were a Chiefs fan... 1 more game and that should make a "better than last" season for them.... hehehe I think (as much as I hate to say it).... Denver may be the team to watch in this division.....
