Its been awhile!!! Last night was great... awesome number of fish... mostly rainbows.. 1 brown, a couple of smallies... With a new color PMS.... purple... WOW!! I stayed with purple all night mostly to see what it would do.. I tried to keep track last night... this was on the PMS (yes... I had a few purple pine squirrels too..LOL) Below outlet 2.... 9 bow and the brown.. on the PMS.... above 1... 7 on the PMS mostly fished the high side of outlet 1.. then I switched over to the Pine squirrel... picked up 22 more Still a little high water so I spent alittle time fish outlet 2 with a midge/sowbug/scud... and caught fish on all ... Most of the time you could not see he float move they were there when you picked up too recast.... luckly none took it deep.. as far as the streamers... I worked them on the bottom slow... caught fish.. stripped it through the water.. caught fish even dead drifting caught fish... even took a unweighted on.. and just let it sat in the current.. and caught fish also.. Fishing was geat... any body going out this weekend... dress warm.. its going to get cold... Leonard

some of us start just before midnight (if not before) new years eve... other come through out the day.. we useally try to get everything going by 10:30am... as for as the grills, and that gets us eatting about noonish... and BSing till about 3-4pm in the afternon

I'll probably bring "my coffee"... but it could be gone by morning.. if JJ comes. As for as me... I dont think Im able to do seahorses this year (maybe able to get a few dozen).. But look for me to bring chips and dip... (Trust me.. you'll forget about those seahorses..)... Im also bringing a cooler.. Generator- Lilley will bring IF we need it. coolers, charcoal, stuff to cook with, cooking utensils, drinking cups.... and food.. (NOTE: food is not a requirement to bring.. it just helps everyone to eat...) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ this was from the recent post... lets update and confirm who coming , whos bring what,... let get a list of "items" together.. this does not include the food... hursday evening I met up with Fred (from St. Louis).. 2 units running, we started at outlet 2 fishing scuds and sow bugs.. we worked the outlet for awhile catching quite a few fish, We headed up top toward outlet 1 to toss around a few streamers.. We caught a few on the PMS and the hibernator. moved back down to outlet 2 to finish off the night..... alot of very nice fish. most in the 14-17 inch range.. Over all fishing was great... the bite was slow.. Friday night.. I met up with Billy and Jack 2 units on.. we started at outlet 2, scuds and sow bugs... within the first couple of cast we had fish to hand. we stood there or a while and it was basically one right after the other.. we decided to head up top and flip a few jigs .. Billy stayed with the big rod.. Jack and I grab the spinning rods and the PMS jigs and went on the hunt for a few smallies.. Jack did catch a nice smallie about 15in. I on the other hand... caught a dang with bass..lol.. and a few trout.. ( olive PMS was the choice color).. We had enough.. so we loaded up and headed to the boat ramp.. where we pick up quite a few on the hibernator and a few on the PMS jig... well now the temps were dropping into the low teens and wee were feeling it... we decided to call it a GREAT NIGHT OUT!!! Sunday night, the three of us hit the water again... we Started the same way.. outlet 2... and really worked it good... Monday night.. Again the three of us hit it for 1 last time before they had to head home to AZ... After awhile Jack called an early night.. and Billy and I was going to fish hard!! We ended up fishing outlet 2 for awhile,,, headed to cable to try for a few smallies... and there was NO DRIFT.. I grabbed the cell and yep... the water was off.. so we headed back to the car.. and went in below 2 for some streamer fishing.. Billy did pick a few off on the hibernator... all in all... I would say this weekend was freaking awesome...

Last night scudman and I hit the water.. purpose: to test different colors combinations of jigs... this is what we found.... a few bumps all most of the colors... big takes on black and purple.. Leonard

Laker... next time you come this way bring your spinning rod.. (what the heck.. you can use one of mine)... and we go for a walk..lol.... we still need to "test" these jigs to make sure they are gonna work... LOL Leonard... PS... th next time you down.. I might have one on me.. Ronnie.... the next time I see you too... I have one for you... but I want to see you cast this on your 3wt...LOL

the trout fishing was very slow... but into a couple... went up to outlet 1 and made my waytoward the cable... with the spinning rod... second cast.. on a "new" (style) PMS jig.. the next cast... just a little bigger there is nothing like catching nice smallies on a ultra lite

but is the generation chart locked up again.. Leonard

This is just hear-say.... not sure how ture this really is.... The farmers almanac is calling for one of our (mid-west) wettest winters... and very cold. I honestly dont think that has nothing to do with it.. but if im not mistaken was Table rock around 908-909 last fall... I think it was below 910.. and it flooding in the spring... so they really have to drop, beaver... push it through Table rock.. drop Bull Shoals.. not sure what they are going to do about those Arkansas Redneck Hillbillies... but I think they can swim....LOL.. (sorry guys.. just had to say it)

a size 16 (2488).. micro chinelle... and thread to match.. (almost sounds like a sj worm) start your thread at the at the eye, cover the shank with a nice thin layer of thread and work back up to the eye of the hook. start your chinelle just behind the eye, with a few turns make your way toward the bend of the hook. fold the chinelle back over itself and make a few wraps back up toward the eye. Leave about 1/8-1/4in of chinelle hanging over the eye. Tie off and clip the thread. (NOTE: the size 12s works great at night.. )

I think the fishing has been good.... a little on the slow side...but over all considering the year we had with all the high water. as far as the dead fish... Im sure it more the just 1 factor... mishandling.. over fighting/playing... maybe something they ate the reason I say that is ive seen those trout try to eat bluegill before, and we now have a lot of them there. A few years ago I saw a brown about 17-18inches with on in it mouth. It swam aroun for about 2 days, and the I saw it dead.. it still had the bluegill hanging out of its mouth. But.. the brown tried to swollow it tail first. I think it fins got logged in it somehow. DuckyDoty.. those little leeches you are talking about are called Planariums (sp?)... try this.. I'll post the receipe in fly tying... but Im sure you can see how easy they are to tie.. Leonard

sound great!! the more the marrier.. this is just pretty much bring what you want..... we just like to do the list as a head count and a idea of food...... In case Terry and Ronnie is cooking then we all know to bring the tums...LOL
