  1. Everyone... Its been a long time with alot of non-fishing nights, and a whole lot of getting ready.. Well here she is.. Rebecca "Becca" Jean Keeney Born Oct. 29 2007 at 5:06pm
  2. Dave... he gate that closes is for the South entrance The main entrance is alway open.. By the main office Leonard
  3. Murdoc.. There is a funny story behind the PMS... someday maybe we can meet up and I'll tell it to you.. But for now the answer to you question... the PMS.. Pine squirrel with a marabou a tail.....( Pine / Marabou / Streamer).. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v732/LeonardK73/PMS.jpg Web... No baby yet.... Leonard
  4. I got to the water about 9pm.. started just below chute 2 started with a tan wooly and pick up 2 fish. well I guess I got just shortly after the water was shut down.. it was a little high and good flow going.. I changed over to a Beaded PMS.. hook up a few time but nothing to hand. Moved on down to the guanlet.. First cast was a 19in bow... 3rd cast was a 18in brown and 4th was a 22 in bow.... well that was all the PMS produced for a while.. after about 10 cast no strikes I switched over to a white wooly.. dead drifting.. again... fish on.. the next 5 cast.. no size (biggest was maybe a 17in bow with a 15in brown).. but got 4 out 5 to hand... working my way through there, they stop hit that.. so I cahnged over to a size 4 mohawk (white)... first cast.. WHAM!!!.. it bounced twice and it was gone... this was a very big fish!! well that was the only hit for the mohawk... went back to the PMS.. and picked up 6 more (2 of them were browns).. no size by this time it was getting close to midnight and I decided to head home.. Leonard
  5. No wonder you cant find it.. its a Redington.com...LOL
  6. Not sure yet..... maybe.. all depends on if my wife has the baby this weekend... She is full term and is ready... the nursery is done and Im just setting up cribs, play pen, dressers... well you get the picture... Leonard
  7. Phillip.. That was forsure good about the wife.. Am sure glad everything went Ok and all is well.. as for as fishing last night.. I had a great time.. I think I ended up catching 8 browns (the 21 and a 18).. did get a few bow to.. 1 was about 17 pushing 18... Hows the ol'heart... man that one strike.. I thought you were going to have a heart attack...LOL.. Leonard
  8. F5 if the water is on.. 2 or less units.. fish up top (from outlet 1 to the cable)..or down by the boat ramp.. change your line to 6 or 8lb... F3 if the water is off.. any where... during moon light hour use something black.. when the moon isnt out (like the past few nights its been dropping behind the dam by 10pm)... using something "flashy".... when using Rapalas at night.. fish it slow w/ a little twitch... throw it out, tighten your line.. and drift.. then add a few twitches.. reel up slack and drift.... basically you just want to fish it fast enough to keep it just under the surface.. Also.. If you have a few husky jerks.. these will probably be good to.. with the bigger browns up, the bigger crank baits would do good if your after a bigger fish.. countdown.. use these if there is 3 or 4 units going.. unless you went to lose a few... I personally wouldnt send that much time with the rooster tails or cloes at night... but a black and yellow.. or something with red other options would be in low water.. Jigs. anything from 1/32- 1/125 used under a float (with a glow stick)... colors I would consider... black, olive, white, tan or combo colors (like black and yellow or olive and black)... Leonard
  9. I think the biggest key to habitat restroation on Table Rock...is cleaning it up!!! there is alot of trash in the Rock.. and twice a year shore line clean up does help.. but it is not that big of an impact... as for as the stucture goes every year after Christmas Dont they add old trees to the water? I know this has been going on for a few years.. Next... What would they think if we got some local scout troups (and other volunteers) together for a weekend camping trip to the State Park and they built some approved wood stucture (by MDC)... MDC provides the blue print and through donations pay for the wood (or cut trees)... Just some thoughts and ideas... Leonard
  10. Zach... In my opinion.. when to fish a softie ... when you see the fish midging..... alot of people fish Taney with midges.. but I think soft hackles produce better for me... as for as color goes.. I like the black the best.. next would be red.. then the P&P..
  11. yes..... No weight at all... just the weight of the hair and the hook sinks it.. yes.... just palmer it up the hook... dont forget the tail...
  12. Yes white is a great color up top... Im not forsure the reason.. but here are a few possiblities: 1... Was there a slight breezes.. and it put a chop on the water.. this is a key sign for white.. I know the moon wasnt out that night (I was there).. but I like to fish white when the moon is out... 2... Did you have a wierd smell in the area: I have been the a couple of time when they have "flushed" the hatchery at night... useally about 10pm... 3... A couple weeks ago I notice a few sculpins in the water up by the log (just below outlet 1)...they were a whitish/tan color... about 3/4-1 inch in lenght... so if you were using a white woolly (say size 8-12).. Id say you had an AWESOME night... Leonard
  13. Also if you stop for just a minute and listen.... you can hear them out there in the water casting... rather it be the fly whistling through the air or the sound of the rod cutting through the air.. you can hear it if you tune into it.... Leonard
  14. Jason... If 50 people showed up... it would put a crowd on the water... If 100 people showed (which would be AWESOME!!).. they would still be a lot of places to fish... On the other side of things... with a tournament (like this and well advertised).. you may have a big crowd.. other guys (and the ladies) may think they will be no room and wont come... so Saturday.. will be 1 of 2 think... Packed or not many except the one fishing the tournament... Leonard
  15. Terry.... I was waiting to see you dream trip.. I thought you were going to say ..... Fishing Taneycomo and catching fish...LOL
  16. fishing was GREAT... lots of good fish.. I got to the parking lot were I was going to meet up with Don.. Instead I met Flatlander... so we joined forces and searched for Don.. we found him and head to the guanlet and big hole... I found a few fish (3 browns was in the mix) with the PMS drifting on the south bank just up from the big hole... Flatlander fished just below me at the big picking up a few .. and Don above me also picking up a few... If im not mistaken they were using pine squirrels (unweighted) and just drifting them also.. we then went to the flat between 1 and 2... fishing was good there too.. All 3 of us caught fish there... I made a few "new" sculpin patterns that I tried there.. hooked a couple of time but no solid hook ups... which is fine.. I see it like this.. they hit it because it was what they wanted or it irritated them and they struck at it... either way.. I'll be working this pattern over the next few weeks in different areas to see what it can do. As we were starting to really get into some fish.... the horn blows.... 1 unit.. well Don had had enough and was headed home... Flatlander and I stayed to fish a glow in the dark indicator with midges and scuds well we had a slow start but he found a couple fish.. like this sweet 18-19in brown caught on a midge... (YES... A midge at night!!)
  17. well this past winter I had someone offerr me a "free" plane ticket to Russia to fish for kiamans... but chatch was being there for 4 months in the winter.... NOPE next... Night fishing ...... Anywhere USA
  18. thread colors are a great way to know the differance... black and red brown and olive Although: If you fish taney alot then you probably carry a crap load of midges right... forget about the lead in the scuds and uses the midges as weight... 1.5-2mm will fit hook from 16-24's.... 2-3mm will fit anything bigger... ****** My Opinion***** putting weight (lead wraps) in scud no matter how big or how small give them a fat, bulky look... unweighted has the natural "skinny" look..
  19. Jmill.... Both Jimmy T and Phil carried them... Like Flyfishn said.... you could probably find them in any fly shop in Arkansas... I dont know of that many place in Missouri... other then Pihls (Lilleys Landing) Leonard
