if you get into some midging fish... and a midge or soft hackle doesnt work... Then its crackleback time (and it dont have to be in the order)... these are the 3 that can real produce on taneycomo... Even at night I can strip a crackleback and still catch fish Although I never tried it with a sinking line... so that part I cant say anything about

It was another great... Taneycomo Night!!! Got there about 8:30pm.. and met up with a board member Ozarkfly (from here and FAOL)... we decided to start with a big pattern and work our way down stream. first thing to pop in my mind was a double bunny (oh by the way Phil.. your out of black and purple double bunnies I got the last 5 Black and purple yesterday ).... ok back to the report... Like all others.. a picture is worth a 1,000 words!!! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v732/Leo...brown102406.jpg first fish of the night..... (sorry for the lights and blurs in the picture.. i had the wrong mode set on the camera)... well we ended up down stream... that right there made the night anyways... everything slowed down.. so we went to drifting white woolies (My go-to fly!!) And it never failed.... I think we ended up with close to 15 maybe 20 by the end of the night... and we miss 100 hits!! here is another little brown that likes woolies http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v732/Leo...brown102406.jpg Ozark fly... I had a great time... I cant wait to do it again... Leonard

I can think of 1... Dress Warm!!!!! that wind last night was a B**CH... I would say... try double bunnies, zonkers, leeches (reg or egg sucking), and sculpins... any of these would be good in a dark color.... Although... dont forget about the woolies... black, purple, olive, and white... White has been very productive lately... but they could change one day to the next....

Terry... If there was a prize for the funniest clown on the internet.... You'd be 2nd... right after me....LOL Loved your post... that was Good... but very true!!!

I for one like the Maxima line... I use Maxima on my fly rod as tippet and leader... and I have it on my spinning rods.... I have 1 of the spinning rod set up with 6lb line... for night fishing and throwing rapala's the other 3 I have set up with 4lb Maxima.. for daytime.. This line will twist if your using an in-line spinner (like a rooster tail)... so my suggestion would be to put a swivel on it and it souldnt twist... Maxima line is worth the buck you put out on it... Leonard

Tonight the weirdest thing happened that I have never seen before... the were cleaning out the hatchery at 9pm... flush water through the chutes... made for murky water ... they did it 3 or 4 times.... I thought they did that during the day oh fishing report... Father and son night out... I loved it!!! picked a few on a double bunny.. I think he hooked a couple but nothing to hand... but being out on the water at night with dad.. It was a GREAT night out!!! Leonard

beavers... that the only thing that scares me at night!!! the big fish that jumps out of the water 10 feet downstream from you and you feel the splash of the water... that either scares you or it wakes you up there is a little cute red fox down there... who seem to be getting really friendly.... I understand he likes sardines...

Anyone see "Bigfoot" around the Big Hole
Leonard replied to Dave Cook's topic in Upper Lake Taneycomo
Dare I say.... BEAVERS!!! If not racoons... if they made a fighting sound.. its the Racoons... If you listen really close at night when you hear the restling in the bushes... and hear a plop or a small splash in the water.. it the beavers... there is about 6 up by the dam... and those SOB's scare the heck out of me... I really hate those beavers!!!!! They are not aggresive (so Im told)... but they do give you spook up your looking in the water and see a 40lb beaver less then 10 feet from!!! -
Lunker Hunter.... Now that everyone posted they opinion ... Here's Mine... WHAT A CATCH.... If you need an Idea on how to cook that fish... call me (you'll find my number posted all over the board) and I give you my grand-daddys secret recipe on grilled stuffed trout... It's made with corn chips... and is darn good!!!! As for the catch and release issue.... Nobody asked... did you attempt to release the fish and it just would go. It kept turning on it side like it was about to die?? So Instead of leaving a dead beautiful fish in the water you took it home. Hey I do it!!!! There is one thing I really hate to see and it is those 20-25in fish dead in the water... some of these big fish that people catch is just right to feed a nice size family... I myself bring 4-5 (20-24in) fish home a year... I have a wife and 2 kids... 1 fish that size is dinner for us... But before everyone crawls up into my butt to rip me a new one.... I maybe catch 100 fish a year over 20in. so my give and take is right up there... 2 of those fish probably are the ones that wont revive.... I'm glad you caught that fish... even if you mount it or eat it... you are not from this area and that is probably one of the biggest brown you have caught... some may say "that is a fish of a lifetime (which are hard to come by)... The big 16.5lber I caught a few weeks ago... almost didn't make... but after about 10minutes he took off... I followed him to make sure he was ok... Then yesterday I heard someone "snagged" a big male fish that would have went close to 17 or 18lbs and run it up and down from chute 2 to the cable.... he took it home.... That is what p*sses me off... From what I understand... once the fish was on the bank. The guy who caught picked it up and tossed it in the back of his truck and left...
