And guess who owns the media outlets..The same "big money" clowns that lobby for the candidates. It's all one BIG family. -
Gloom And Doom Hits Home.

We all know that the government is a joke, they'll do what they're told by the one's that line there pockets. They are puppets and they will bring this country to it's knees and by how easily they are bought. We are pawns in their game. Fishing and hunting is the only thing that helps me get my mind away from the doom that we are facing..Don't matter who gets voted in, it's all set up too. We only get to vote for who is "pushed" on to the tickets. Lobbyist pick a puppet, dump millions to get them on a ticket, teach them how to say what "the people " want to hear, and BAM! just like that another joker joins the ranks of thugs that take and do what they want with OUR constitution. It's a hopeless system that will come to an end. Unfortunately, this is our time. The best of the truely free days are behind us. -
i've caight more this year than any other year..mostly because i've kept going back, usually one or two trips to warsaw, this year its been 5. Crappie have been thick below the dam. use 1/8 or 1/4 oz. orange heads and green or white slab masters from the station bait shop. on cooler days they're deeper so use the 1/4 oz cast out as far as you can let it sink at a 10 to 12 count, then retrieve as slow as you can stand to. You will get your limit. the colder weather slowed them down a bit, but i still limit in about an hour. 2 weeks ago it only took 30 minutes.

yes you can, but its a very crowded place, during the week isn't too bad. Crappie are doing good, with all the rain work around the trees.

I'm guessing that will scatter the fish below the lake in the river, i've never fished it with that much releasing...Any tips?? -

Pomme De Terre Dam/lake Update
any and all fishing replied to MOPanfisher's topic in Pomme De Terre Lake
I'm on the west side of Hwy HH.. 365 L is a big loop that comes back out on HH..there are 2 dead end roads, 365b and 365c..i'm on 365c or its also called Zumack road. I'm buying a house back there, beautiful area, the corps land borders my entire place. I've been walking the property a lot, google earth has helped me with figuring out the lay of the land. When that water goes back down, i'll be in my waders fishing the heck out of this area, looks really nice when its not flooded. -
Pomme De Terre Dam/lake Update

i'm actually down off of the 365 loop in hickory county, a lot closer to the lake and there's no way to fish anyewhere around me unless you fished the flooded fields...probably not a good idea. -
The lake is a mess and very tough to fish, if its largemouth you're after, go below the dam at the state park, you'll need to go to the end of the black top and walk down past the one mile marker, or if you have a flat bottom boat go down to where the river widens, just past the little islands, that deep area on the state park side is loaded with tons af huge bass, all the way down to where it narrows. Soft plastic crawldads on a carolina rig. I landed one on nearly every single cast. There are lots of crappie around those islands too. Jerk baits did well also. Good luck!

Pomme De Terre Dam/lake Update
any and all fishing replied to MOPanfisher's topic in Pomme De Terre Lake
are you talking about below pomme de terre dam? If so, you can walk as far as you want down there, and there are lots of fish if you walk all the way down that trail past the 1 mile marker. It's been a week since i was down by the water on lindley creek, it was FLOODED, but wouldn't hurt to check your spot..that water is crazy high. -
absolutely, canoe would be perfect. About 1 1/2 miles down there is a narrowing where the current picks up for about 100 feet then widens back out. But, its nothing crazy. I've had all of my luck from the bank, but i'd do twice as good with a boat. They're supposed to go wide open with the water at the dam on april 7th if things go as planned, canoe won't be such a good idea then obviously. Good luck, let me know how you do!

Pomme De Terre Dam/lake Update
any and all fishing replied to MOPanfisher's topic in Pomme De Terre Lake
Lindley creek right at the end of the lake is literally in my back yard, the fields on the corps land where they plant crops are obviously flooded. Fish are slapping the water constantly, so i guess some good news with this whole flood thing, is that the fish that are feeding will put on some good weight with the abundance of bugs etc...the spawn might get jacked, maybe not..who really knows. It's still a great place to fish if you adjust strategies to conditions. Right now, there are lots of crappie and bass below the dam and even a few walleye running. Too bad im in El Dorado working, but i'll be on my way back tomorrow morning to find them fish.. -

I went back out today before the front came through and caught a really nice walleye that was over 4 pounds. Lots of largemouth as usual. -
Brians Fishing Report

They were males, no females were caught. They were 16 and 17 1/2 inche walleyes. I've got some ideas to land some more tomorrow. I think i'll have company tomorrow (hahaha) since i was caught catching fish! -
Today was just as good as yesterday as below the dam, several bass good size. I went and bought 5 more jerk baits, once they were gone i switched to grubs(white) caught three walleye. Use a very slow retrieve in the deep holes for the walleyes. Two guys showed up and saw me catching, they started with rooster tails and landed 2 more walleye. I had a hard time leaving, never knew what was going to bite next. I also caught a really big drum on a chartruse curly tail, same hole as all of the other fish..pretty good day. Here are a few of the fish!

A Few Of The Days Fish
any and all fishing replied to any and all fishing's topic in Pomme De Terre Lake
The fish are mostly about a mile or two down from the dam, i found them stacked up in the cuts or pools that were right off of the channel. When my jerkbait hit the water you could see the fish scatter, i was getting hit every single cast with a certain lure, which is the one i caught most of my fish with, after i casted that one right into a log, i had to switch to a more silvery one, which didn't seem to be as attractive, though it's the one i landed the big female on. Running the jerkbaits slow is key, and having one thats heavy enough to cast to where you want to fish is important too since you're throwing from the bank. Jerkbaits were the best since they float, i tried a rubber worm also with not a single hit, so i guess they're looking up. choose your most realistic baits, flashy wasn't working well. Crawldad imitations or baits with good detail were great. -
Here are a few from my outing today...i released several before i got the bright idea to take pictures for proof!!

Finally found some action today, and it wasn't on the lake..and it wasn't cheap! These fish are going to cost, but i had a blast. I went below pomme de terre dam this evening, i saw tons of fish spawning, they looked like carp or drum maybe, but they were all facing upstream and they were thick..but now and then i would see silvery fish that didn't look like the "carp" moving in between the carp..the moss has begun to develope so my jigs weren't working out too well, so i put on the most realistic jerk bait i had, it ended up being the perfect move. I won't give up my exact spot, because i'm going back tomorrow and saturday! But i will tell you all that largemouth are below the dam in really nice numbers, this evening i caught 6 bass before losing my perfect lure, 4 were around 14-15 inches, and 2 around 12 inches. After losing the lure, i put the closest thing i had to that one on, it was also a jerk bait, but it was less "real" looking, i wasn't getting hit every cast like i was on the other one, but i did land a 5 pound female with a belly full of eggs. 7 fish caught in 45 minutes in one spot, several came un hooked on the way in. Run the jerk baits slow with several twitches..don't be afraid to walk for your fish, thats the only hint besides below the dam i will give

I'm hoping for the same, the forcast looks great with above normal highs during the days and 50 degree overnights! I'm glad to see the water temps stayed around 44 or so, i figured after that ice and snow the other day we might have lost a few degrees. Thanks for the report Trav.
