  1. Up north we actually called the goggle eyes Rock Bass. I was not sure what everyone was talking about until I seen a Pic of them. They used to be awesome bait for Pikes and Muskies.
  2. I love the cheeseheads. I am actually eatng some Kauakana Sharp Cheddar as I type. I used to fish the bay a lot with a friends father. We would catch enormous walleyes. When your young you just assume they are all that big ! I am from the Upper Penninsula of Michigan but only lived 90 miles north of green bay. We used to catch our big Walleyes on the Michigamme. I used to go to the Motorcross races at Lake Geneva that is the high roller area ! I am heading up this weekend. Next week on the Rock each night practicing for the KVD tourny. Good Luck
  3. I might whine a bit but I will be back up to Stockton this weekend with my jig and crawler. I have heard of the big Table Rock Walleyes and I do plan to find them. I have 10 days straight on the Rock in June so I hope to figure them out. I grew up 70 miles from Green Bay in the Lynn Dickey and Dan the magic man Majkowski years way before Favre was around. Used to feeze my rear off at Lambeau and watch the pack get killed ! They only started wining after I moved.
  4. r u fishng the KVD next weekend ??
  5. I am an avid Walleye guy but I am from Northern Michigan so I am used to catching 5 - 8 lb walleyes as a norm and usualy once a month a 10 lber. These stocked eyes just are not the same. They still eat good but they fish bad. The Bluegills fight more. I am used to these...
  6. I got to be honest them Small mouth on Table Rock on Sunday got my juices going !!
  7. Very imporessive, I can not paint by numbers. I'll take a catalog travis.paquin@gmail.com
  8. thanks for the info, it helped get me started last night. Caught fish but nothing in the frying pan ! I will be back up this weekend.
  9. Are you catching any big bass in the backs of coves or on beds ? Have you tried any topwater yet ? I know the walleyes are biting but they are so boring to catch. I am wanting to really get into the bass this weekend. Any tips ?
  10. Hit the lake about 5:30 pm went out of Hartley ramp. Trolling cranks = 2 walleyes no keepers, 3 white bass (1 real fatty) Trolled harnesses = 2 walleyes no keepers URRGHHH 2 more white bass. Casted back of a cove with jig and craw and caught a medium bass. The water is really high and was fishing 15 - 30 foot of water. I used a gulp minnow on a single hook spinner and it caught more then the nightcrawler but they were all shorties. I never tried the Gulp stuff it sure is expensive. Going to try the worms this weekend I'll let you know if they work. FYI I went to the Rock last Sunday and just destroyed the Smallies of points with a smoke and PBJ grub.
  11. Any tips to where you were finding fish ? Points or banks ? heading up tonight
  12. you fellas trolling points or steep banks ??
  13. Found my own answer, you can have 3 bass in the livewell.
  14. Any of you fellas ever fish this ? I am curious how the hourly weigh in works and what the strategy is with this? Can you have more then 1 fish in the livewell and just weigh in your biggest and save a shorter one for a later hour or are you only allowed one fish in the livewell ?
  15. have you ever had so many layers on for a May fishing trip ! Good job fellas
  16. i am just happy to own a boat and I will fish out of anything that floats.
  17. Bleeding Shiner, I have enjoyed many of your posts on the Stockton Forum. I have big plans fishing the Rock this year. We might be able to help each other out. I know I am getting stronger line. Them smallmouth Sunday were about jerking the rod out of my hand ! I caught more big smallies Sun at the Rock then I did all last year at Stockton.
  18. I like all those colors. The smoke and salt n pepper is working in a jig color.
  19. Just want to say thanks to all the posters. I am a Stockton guy and the Big Lake can be a little initimidating. I went down Sunday morning to Inidan Point and applied the info from the forum and had a great day of Small Mouth fishing. Caught 10 in about 2.5 hours. PBJ grub caught most and Shad Rap did all the heavy lifting. Fish seemed to be deep to me? had most my hits in 15 foot of water. 54 degrees and you can see a mile. Seen a lot of beds with fish on them but man they were spooky.
  20. I wont bore with you my struggles, lets just say nothing went as planned BUT I got out of Roark around 4:15 pm. No worms and no trolling motor. The water is high and dingy. I was getting temps around 57-59. I went to some favorite fishig holes and threw my Flickr Shad. Ended up with 8 fish in about 2.5 hours. 4 decent kentucky's, 2 VERY small smallies,1 white and a nice keeper walleye 22" An interesting point I told a buddy to pick up a few Flickr Shads and instaed he bought the New Storm Version of the same lure. It was outfished 8 to 1 in the exact same size, color and set up, the fish he caught was a drum. I had a pretty frustrating start but it was nice to just feel the sun while casting the stick. It really seemed like it is ready to bust loose. I am not sure what this cold weather will do later in the week. If you keep a fishing journal do not look at what you were catching last year at this time. The ramp was very busy for a Tuesday night. An of you Bassers ever fish the Redfin ? I seem to hear about it a lot on The Rock.

    Wet Walleye

Thanks for the info headin up tomorrow
  23. That is a big walleye. If they did not taste so good and were not so easy to fish while you drink beer you could keep these little walleyes in Stockton. I am from Northern Michigan and growing up I have caught so many nice walleyes. I have been fishing Stockton for 10 years and I have caught my fair share but nothing over 10 lbs. A 10 lb walleye up there is like catching a 5 lb bass in Missouri. The more I walleye fish stockton the more it feels like I am fishing the Rainbows on Taneycamo. All hatchery made and realeased at 1 inch under the limit. Big fish are everywhere but Stockton is NOT a quality walleye lake. It just happens to have small fry stock dumped in it every year. In saying that...I am heading up in the morning to go try and catch a few !

    Weekend Report

I have three girls who love to boat, not really fish that much. I was that young man about 40 years ago, standing at the boat ramp in Theodosia and a old fella gave me an old reel to use. He seen me casting my pole and then pulling my line in since the crank did not work. I was from Michigan and we came down for a family deal. I remember it was like it was yesterday.
