I actualy have the fight on video but it was too large to attach to this site.
I practice catch and release so the bird is safe. If you want to see
a crazy video let me know I can email it to you. In all seriousness the bird lived happily ever after. It spit out the spook and then got all tangled in the line. At first I thought he swallowed it. I got him close to untangle him and so he could get his licks in. I totally got flocked ! I followed him down the bank afterwards and he went on a fishin.

I got to fish this weekend. Saturday I had some good luck with the Spook. A bunch of nice smallies and some nice Bass, However the Walleyes were biting and so I switched gears the rest of the weekend. The walleyes were hitting real well in the mid morn after the sun was up. NIghtcrawler and a jig in 8-12 foot of water. Caught several and then went out and did some bow hunting.
Fished most of the day Saturday and probably only caught 6- 8 bass and 1 small walleye. Sunday morning caught a limit in a little over an hour. It was about 8:30 am. I caught about 13 total fish nearly all of them on topwater.
Fished last weekend pretty hard Sat and Sunday. Walleyes were slow but the Bass were not. Sat morning before the wind I had my best Smallmouth day ever at Stockton catching 6 in a row over about 90 minutes, all nice fish all in the same general area fishing Topwater and a sunfish color Norman Little N. Caught a bunch of bass over the next two days. We caught the best fish off limestone banks with pretty steep drop off. Probably 15 foot of water or so. They were hitting white/purple cranks.
Good Luck - had a tough time finding the eyes and jig fishing them like I normally do. I has to cover a lot of water with the crank to catch em. I was down in the river and out on the main lake. I caught walleyes as shallow as 2 feet and as deep as 19 ???
Fished Sat afternoon and most of Sunday. Caught everything bass, cats, walleyes, whites. Fish were shallow and biting on crank baits and topwater. We caught 4 keeper walleyes and then just went bass fishing. Caught a bunch.
Fished a few hours Saturday and Sunday. Only caught 1 keeper walleye and 1 nice crappie. The weather was so nice but the fishing was tough. I was suprised to see the water temps in the low 80's avg about 83 degrees down by Roark.
I have caught some decent bass in 25 - 30 ft of water on humps. DD22 Norman Chartreuse crankbait or the little N. I have had 0 luck catching nay good fish on any type of plastic. I haven't even tried one in a month. Seems odd they are willing to chase the crankbauit in 90 degree water but it has been best for me.
I would get out on the main lake. I only fish for bass in the rivers in the Spring. I have had some good luck on the main lake. Pretty deep 25 foot plus. I found working the humps/structure has been good, not so much brush piles but any elevation change. Good Luck
Went up again last night and got to fish for two hours before dark and caught 3 keeper walleyes. Fought one for over 20 min on my spinning reel before it snapped my 12 lb test. I do think it was that 10 lb walleye. He was not shaking at all like them big cats do and did not want to come off the bottom. It sure was a rush until the line snapped and then I snapped and broke my rod off the side of the boat. Only seen about 4 boats all night.
I did not plan on fishing mid day. Just thought I would troll back to the dock and sip on a cool one and put the lines out. Maybe my boat is too ugly or something. I have not had any issues with anyone in my fishing holes.
Got to do some fishing this weekend. It was real hot but we did catch some fish. We manged 7 keepeer walleyes one real nice one and caught 6 cats, 3 big bass and some real nice whites. Had all my luck on chartreuse colored crankabits in about 25 foot of water. I caught them trolling and casting. The darn walleyes were biting as it got warmer my best fishing was 11am to 1pm Sat and Sun.
I use plastic leaches when I run out of night crawlers and have had a fair amount of success. Up north you would never throw a plastic at a walleye. When I first started fishing Stockton I did not even know they had walleyes until they started hitting my plastic salamanders. In the Spring when I fish lizards I do catch a few but I only caught one walleye on a plastic worm. The plastic leaches have caught fish when the crawlers haven't. Stil hard to beat the real thing. I had put some small jigs on the bama rig to fish whites and was reeling in a small bluegill and watched a walleye hammer the bluegill but did not land him. It was cool to see
I started putting up my orange Skier Flag when I am fishing I really think it helps. The jet Skiers must think at anytime I could fire up the Merc and run em over ??
great weekend for Tubing! I decided to entertain the kids this weekend on the tube vs doing my normal 8-10 hours per day of Fishing. I did find some time to drift some of my favorite walleye spots only to catch some Big bass. I caught 4 big bass in 20 minutes off the same point on my crawler harness. The small was 4 and the big guy was over 6. So then I decide to swing back through and throw my Bass Gear. I hook up my favorite color plastic worm and of course catch a keeper walleye ? Rumor has it old Dale Johnson from Southwinds Motel caught a 10 lb walleye last week, it is going on the wall so it is no fish tale. He is the best walleye man on the lake and has showed me a thing or two and I am from Walleye Nation, Northern Michigan.
I seen him around the cove from Hawkers Point last Spring. I bet you he was 30 lbs. I took pics but they did not turn out they were on my phone. He was a fishing machine!
