  1. Sold. Thanks.
  2. I’ll be swapping out my father in laws ultrex for an ulterra this weekend (bad back). The ultrex was bought January 2020 and MAYBE has 50 hours on it (if there’s a way to tell let me know I’ll check). I’m located in Fayetteville, AR. Pictures to come. $1,800 Or best offer - prefer cash but can do Venmo PayPal etc. I’ve read it’s fairly desirable for fitting on certain boats. Listing here before I hit it with FB Marketplace after I have pics. invoice description: Minnkota Ultrex 80# US2 45" -pilot trolling motor *update here’s a couple pics. However most are too large to load. PM me and I can email or text them.
  3. Excellent tip thank you! Would the braid be visible to fish - or would you never get to it and it’s just like a backing filler?
  4. Thanks everyone for the feedback. I pulled the trigger on the pfluegar president as the reviews are so strong everywhere. I highly considered the Lew’s speed as well, but reviews not as good and a lot complain about the bail sticking. We have 2 houses at wildcat, and get done about once a month. I’ll post a review and report next time!
  5. Hey guys, I’m traditionally a fly fishing guy, but entering your world of jig fishing (much more simple with kids in the boat!). I just picked up 2 crossfire rods from the zig jig man. I’m overwhelmed with reel options. I went to my local outdoor store and their inventory was so limited they knew I may need to go online. From my limited research I think I need at least a 6:1 gear ratio. Want something tough I can leave in the boat year round, and that an 8 year old, who is pretty careful, won’t destroy. I’m thinking of the $100 price point +/-. Drag is something important to me, we all know we have some river monsters in the White. What suggestions do you have? Also, would you put a backing of braided line then run 4lb flouro? How do y’all like to spool them? thanks all.
  6. Thanks!!
  7. Interested in both reels. Price pics? cpriest11@gmail.com if easier.
  8. Yes. This is exactly what I’m looking for! Thanks guys. If anyone is looking for a VRBO/Airbnb right next to wildcat boat ramp I’ll have on available soon!
  9. Looking for a cool map that can be blown up and hung on a wall in a rental house for guests to understand different access points or locations of the river. I haven’t found anything great via google so thought I’d ask here. Thanks!
  10. Bill - next weekend, may 15 & 16 specifically. Thanks! SIO3 - I’ve talked to Dally’s and a few others. Nothing locked in yet, appreciate the tips!
  11. Planning a last minute anniversary trip to the White and looking for a private chef to prepare a few meals for my wife and I for our anniversary. Have a house rented in Cotter near the Narrows if that helps location wise. Any suggestions appreciated!
  12. Dan - I was up at twin bridges in goshen. Lots of people fishing up there, but with the water so dirty live bait is key. Tough for a fly fisher... or maybe I need to look into that!
  13. Went out early this morning. Water is still pretty muddy - chocolate milk. Found a few in the slack water but nothing to brag about. A lot of people out looking today, hopefully it turns on soon!
  14. Amery - I grew up in goshen on the river and have spent some time camping on gravel bars. They will bite at night but when the spawn is in full swing forget it. They will get thick in the shallows wrestling around but will not eat once they get in the mood. Good luck let us know.
  15. I may be interested in buying if no one has a trade. PM me with asking price and ship cost to 72704
  16. Sorry been away. You would want some sort of water craft to get back to the shallows. Not a big lake, and it's no wake, so about anything that floats will work.
  17. Watch camofire.com I have seen them on there recently. They also have an iPhone app
  18. Not to hi-jack the thread, but you can always explore lake fayetteville when water is high and blown out. It will get muddy, but it has a spill way so it never really rises much. Make sure to check in at the shop before you go though and pay the few dollars to fish. I went out last week in search of carp on the fly, but also for a few nice bass and red ears.
  19. I voted within the last year, but it was white bass fishing up the river. For some reason I get checked everywhere I go fishing or hunting.
  20. Sierra trading post has a few rods and reels right now. Sign up for their emails and you can get adfitional discounts.
  21. Appreciate the info allstar. Work has been crazy and prevented me from getting out the past few weekends, and the weather has not cooperated either. I'll focus on millet this year.
  22. Really appreciate the advice guys. Will try to get to get to know the neighbors but may look for a garden tiller as well. Would you plant the millet and sunflowers at the same time, or plant weeks apart? Thanks!
  23. Curious if anyone has any suggestions how to make a decent dove field without access to a tractor, or any farming equipment. I have access to a family farm with open pasture and no livestock. We had it cut two weeks before season opened last year and attracted birds but they didn't stay around long. I'm not afraid to work hard, but just don't know if I'm getting in over my head trying to do this by hand. Thanks!
  24. Correction - the river is blown out right now from the rain. Give it a few days.
  25. Very wadeable. Literally any shoal you can walk to from the bridge. I have been wading both rivers consistently for the past few weeks without any issues. Except for the crowds... Welcome and good luck!
