  1. Welcome to the forum! Im right uo the road near the Buckhorn exit. I fish the Piney and Gnade quite a bit out of my kayak. Hit me up if you wanna fish sometime, Ill keep the airforce jokes to a few if you dont pick on my career choice too much!
  2. Hey guys please check out the below link. If you are able to donate your time/boat to this event it would be greatly appreciated. I know they are short on boaters to help out. They are a great group of guys that I got to spend a while with this past deer season. They took a few of my wounded brothers out on some awesome hunts this past year and were some of the most patriotic group of guys I have ever met. It should be a great time and I guarantee great company! http://fishingforfreedomquincy.org
  3. I made it down for a couple hours Saturday morning. Threw a rouge and wiggle wart and even tried a 3"grub for a bit. Not a bite. I put in at Aldrich and went into the river a couple miles Im guessing. Not having any confidence I loaded up the boat and headed to LOZ. I look forward to giving that a try again when the water warms some!
  4. I was there yesterday morning and no dock. Unless they put one in the summer. That was my first trip to that ramp.
  5. Best day Ive had on the water in quite some time. Jigs and jerkbaits! All fish came off points covered in chunk rock...if there was rock their were fish. 10 keepers 3 measured over 19". I know some of you all do that on a regular basis but I normally suck!
  6. Of course I'll leave a report...I have quite a drive to get to the Sac, that's why I inquired before the drive. I have nothing better to do this weekend anyway so I'll dive in and figure it out and let you guys know. The great guys on this forum have kept me from wasting tons of time on first time trips in the past, hopefully I can return the favor! If anything the weather is going to be awesome, I don't need the fish to cooperate much to have a good time!
  7. If your up that way and see me say hello. Ill be in a 16/48 with a 25 yamaha on the back. Probably a dog in tow. Good luck!
  8. Looks like we are going to have a week in the 50s, or better, so I was thinking of hitting the little sac next weekend. Is the water fishable yet? I was hoping the warmer temps might trigger a few walleyes into moving into the river. Probably put in around Aldrich.
  9. Yeah I fish it. I was out yesterday and connected on a few. Jerkbaits seem to be the best. In years past Ive done well on the beaver tail baits too.
  10. I remember a pretty good one we got stuck in!
  11. Awesome! I was out there too a lot longer than a couple hours and I got my butt handed to me. I need to start throwing that A rig I think. I got some gift cards this Christmas and decided I was going to try one of those megabass baits. I fished for an hour with it, now there is a log in the Niangua thats worth at least 25 bucks! We boated one fish on a rouge and I had a few takes on the chompers but no hookups. Nice day though.
  12. No worries I was hoping you were talking about one up in the little niangua I could put my little boat in. Seemed like a lot of boat traffic in the Gale access last time I put in. Probably not an issue in the winter though.
  13. Is this the Larry Gale access or a different one?
  14. I tied up 10 in probably twice the time and half the quality!
  15. Awesome fish Seth! You guys boated right by us a couple times. I was in the 16ft jon with the 25 yammy on the back. The first time you came up you had some guy down on all fours in the front of the boat. Yeah Duane it was well worth it. Thanks for the tips on the jigs....turns out I didnt tie enough!
  16. A friend and I got out today for a little while on Taney. We boated up to the dam, which I had never done before. After the fishing today I will definitely make it a point to try it again. The fishing was awesome on 1/8 oz jigs both all white and pink/white. We would boat up to the cable then drift just past the boat ramp and we picked up a few fish every drift. My fishing buddy is a bass nut but I think he is hooked on Taney trout now! Check out the bellies on a couple of these fish!
  17. I was down there Monday morning scoping it out (which translates into I was too big of a pussy to stand in 8 degree weather on the dock begging for a crappie bite). The water was high, fast, and resembled chocolate milk. I was hoping to get up there in the boat next week and see if any of the big cat have moved in. Probably going to wait a couple weeks!
  18. Think its the weather Glen? I had a humbling experience walking out the door this morning actually needing a sweatshirt! Holy crap that changed fast.
  19. Looking to trade my black bear rug. I took this bear when I was living in Alaska and its never been displayed. Time to move it along. Not a huge bear but not a cub. Measures 5' from nose to tail and over 4' from paw to paw on the front legs. Ive put it out on other sites with a few interested parties that never followed through. Trading is pretty much open to all firearms especially youth rifles, 1911s, autoloader 12 guage, and muzzle loaders. Anything fishing....just let me know what you have all I can say is no. I cant really put a trade value on it...I know what I spent and Im not getting that back!
  20. Thanks for the tip Glen. I did beat the bank for a while bit I was throwing a strike king square bill. The ones that hit were right on the bank and seemed to ambush it on the first few turns of the reel. The greatest thing about last night though was the weather and lack of boat traffic. Just a few fisherman was all I had to share the lake with.
  21. I hit the glaize yesterday from about 3pm until 10pm. I had every intent to chase crappies but I got side tracked with the feeding bass in the back of coves. A couple years ago I was able to pick up a few on a spinner bait and fluke but it's always difficult to get them to take anything with all the real food that is available. Yesterday I tried to throw the spinner bait and fluke with very little success. I switched up to a lipless crank bait (similar to a rattletrap) in shad color. I would cast to feeding bass and crank it very fast through the school. I ended up with only four keepers after several hours, but I was kept entertained by all the sub legal fish. It's amazing how aggressive they get this time of year. The crappies where all in their usual spots but quite a few little ones. The few keepers that I managed were released. I was able to catch a few on the crank when I would slow it down and kind of jig it below the school of shad....they were bigger ones. Hope this helps some of you. Good luck.....bring on bow season!
  22. I need a program to make fish look larger. All I need is a few pounds. People have caught on too well to long arming!
  23. She has a deep hatred for buzzbaits.
  24. He better get some stickers on the side of that or start using paddles!
  25. ED can you post some photos? What grade wood is the stock? Are there engravings on yours or is it bare steel? And what are you looking to get out of it? I have the 28 and 16 and both were priced rather differently because of the stocks and engraving.
