Ask anyone who lives near a lake or makes their living from the lake, how they're effected having a flooded lake. I'm just saying, a massive lake like Bull Shoals just came up 8ft, from a 2" rain last week, that doesn't compute.
-
I'm only pointing out how strange it is that Bull and Beav are constantly flooded, while Table Rock enjoys normal pool most of the time. This wasn't the case in the 70s-2000s , but something has changed, and I'm guessing money talks.
-
I'm saying BS, more like Johnny don't want the Corps letting Table Rock get too high. This is a fairly recent development, I dont remember our lakes at or near flood pool all the darn time in years past. Someone somewhere pocketing lots $$$
-
Is there anything that we can do about the way the corps manages our water levels? Bull is nearing 11ft high and rising( 16 ft if you go by old normal pool level) and Beaver is 1.5ft from top of flood pool, after just being there last weekend!! And now their slowing down releases at both Bull and Beaver, meanwhile Table Rock is less than 2ft high and their is no signs their gonna slow down on releasing water. Every summer for the past several years Beaver and Bull are flooded all summer while Table Rock pretty much remains at normal level.

To order from predator using your phone, there's written instructions close to the top of the unpainted baits page. Basically just scroll all the way down to bottom of the page and click on the classic site. Then it allows you to add to cart, I think he's prices are a little higher on ebay. If I remember right

I'm in Englewood, close to Punta Gorda and Fort Myers, got into a school of 8-10lb Jacks this morning, which was fun, but would have traded all that for a snook that dwarfed the one I broke off yesterday. Switched up from 20 lb mono yesterday to 40lb braid, 30 lb flouro leader today, she literally bit 5 ft in front of me at the shoreline, fought her for roughly 15 seconds and chafed the 30lb flouro, wish I'd had my gopro on me, cause she was putting on a show, my feelings are really hurt right now!!
-
2nd morning out today, kinda feeling things out down here, some small Jacks and snook, hooked up with my first 30"+ class snook this morning, had my mirrolure swallowed, but unfortunately broke me off. Lots of fresh water canals and ponds around SIL'S house, can catch plenty of bass, but not what I'm down here for. BUT, take the hooks off a spook and can have a good time with the little gators around here, they'll bite anything over and over again.

Amazing, I'm in Florida, put phone in back back surf fishing, finish up, and apparently while I was fishing I posted, what the heck. Stupid phone

When was the last time you were checked on BEAVER lake
GENTLE replied to Feathers and Fins's topic in Beaver Lake
Got checked around 12 bridge about a month ago, just checked for life jackets. -
I have lived in West Fork for the past 10 years, and my house is about 2 miles from where the treatment plant dumps their effluent water into the White River. Let me tell you, their treated water has always been pretty darn nasty!! In the summer time the little hole where the water dumps in looks like antifreeze and has a pretty funky smell. But with that said fish still live in that little hole. Siltation is a major problem on that stretch of the White River. When I first moved here, there were 2 or 3 decent holes of water right around the low water bridge on Dye Creek Rd, they are ALL gone now, most holes now struggle to get over knee deep, and the fishing has been terrible the last 6-7 years. I've completely stopped fishing it.

Yeah Champ, didn't you used to write for the old CPAA magazine? There most be some unresolved grievance between you and them?

Fishing Report For Beaver Lake Locals (Lake Ft Smith & Lake Fayetteville)
GENTLE replied to J-Doc's topic in Beaver Lake
I used to fish Lake Fort Smith a lot, and have caught some giant sacks of bass out of it. But this year has been WAY OFF, not sure what's going on with it, but the people I've talked to that fish it, say the same thing. -
Heard there was a major algae blum around Praire and that the water was red colored, was it that way around 12 bridge/beaver shores area?
-
I guess I should tell my kids, since their not in professional sports, ran by a professional organization , that it would be ok if they cheat if they don't get caught. Seriously?!
-
There has been alot of talk about these fellows for quit some time, common sense would lead one to believe that if you were this dominate on a body of water, you'd show up more than once a year to compete. No I, nor anyone else I know, have any undeniable proof that these fellows are a couple of sorry cheaters. But, there are several things that just don't add up. I stood directly in front of them in the weigh in line, and I knew who they were while I was standing there( I had the previlage of standing directly behind Mr. Bundy several years earlier with one of his monster sacks), and i took a long hard look at their fish, and thought to myself those are some awfully beautiful fish compared to all these rough looking post spawners I've been seeing. Has anyone on this forum ever seen 4-5 lb LMB schooling on Beaver? Recently? In a 300+ boat field, how did no one else see this miracle school of fish come up, Beaver ain't that big. To win the Chamber tourney a few times is one thing, but to ALWAYS be in top three? For over a Decade??!! KVD ain't got them kind of skills. And why would these guys be " black balled" from tourneys on their home lake? Yes, the Chamber is supposed to be a fun event, and there are a lot of good things about it, but if your going to be giving away a prize as big as a boat, there needs to be more done to protect the integrity of the event.
-
Yeah, Paul Tormanen used to win regional events around this area, pass polygraphs, live well checks etc. he was suppose to be the next big thing. Look him up and see how that turned out. Guys I'm telling you, something stinks about theses two cats!!
-
Best part is, Bundy is on Facebook saying 4-5 lbers just came up schooling all around them first thing that morning, all LMB. How many times has anyone seen 4s & 5s schooling on Beaver and be able to catch 22 lbs worth of em??!! Them being from around Bull Shoals, I wonder where they ever got that idea from?? Ah la Jason Christie last month in the Elites. I hate to dog on someone so bad, but for more than a decade now this has been going on. Every single year they are in the top 3, there's a reason locals on their own lake won't let them fish tourneys.
-
Champ, did they give any specifics??
-
Yes, but I think we all know that's not full proof, they had no emotion when they weighed theyre fish and took the lead. I know some of the best of the the best on this lake, guys who have won alot, NOBODY is that consistant on Beaver. I win one every now and then and am fairly consistant, Beaver is a fickle creature, to come hear every year and always have fat sacks in a 300 boat tourney, and this is the only time they show up at a tourney on this lake. Nosirree, something stinks.
-
Yeah, that would be solid, especially since this is the only tourney they ever fish on Beaver every year, this is the 4-5 time they've won it, always in top 3 when they dont win. Very solid, little too solid!! That's what I meant by,thoughts anyone?
-
Gary Bundy and Johnny Hagood 22lbs to win chamber . . . . . Again. Any thoughts?
-
I'm curious, is that what they said they caught them on? Gary Bundy and Johnny Hagood, darn they've got this lake down, every chamber tourney theyre in top 3, have won it 4-5 times. Came in 2nd last year, only tourney they ever fish on Beaver every year, hmmm. I weighed just ahead of them, got a really good look at their fish, big nice beautiful, healthy looking and fat, not your typical post spawners. Most fish I saw today looked like they were drug behind my truck, w/ sores all over them. I ain't saying, well yes I am saying, and me a lots of other fisherman have been saying for years, sumthin ain't right!!!!
-
Motoman, I couldn't agree with you more, after painting close to a 1,000 of them little buggers, the only consistant thing about the old warts is their inconsistancy. Each and every bait varies from one to the next, the new ones are almost identicle, every time. That being said, I don't buy into all the hoopla about the old ones. Who cares if they run erratically and kick out on the retrieve, I don't reel mine in open water, I grind em through rocks, logs and anything else that's on the bottom, so they're gonna deflect off of objects and be erratic, new or old. But if your set on having a bunch of old warts repainted, only the clear bills can be phantom colors. I only throw that out there cause, I've had people not realize I can't make a crome colored bait a phantom.

Do you have a sawzall( recepricating saw)? Tape your bait real securely to the blade(make sure you tape it far enough down the blade that it doesn't hit the frame of the saw on the up stroke), and start out at a slow speed and progressively get faster. I have done this numerous times to dislodge stuck rattles on baits, I'd at least give that a try befor drilling a hole.
