  1. Then get after it. Get the Tea Party state reps writing those bills, and talking about it. I'll vote for them if they have a credible plan to provide health coverage for the poor in Missouri. Let's do it!
  2. "There are however, millions of lazy, unhealthy, twinkie-eating, cigarette-smoking Americans who can't seem to be able to afford healthcare, but can somehow afford a flat screen TV, smartphone, and a car note. This is the REAL problem that needs to be addressed." Isn't that what the individual mandate of the ACA tries to address??
  3. Sugar is better if it's deep fried.
  4. Yep. My gig is setting up stages, sound and lighting systems. I am at fairs all summer long. I still think healthcare is a basic human right as was said above.
  5. "Dude I was Married to a Irish, Redhead, New Yorker. Nothing can be worse than that" Yeah Fins, my wife is an Irish Redhead. That was funny- no BS lol
  6. His statement in 2006 is fact. Obamaphones are a myth.
  7. Back to the healthcare debate...
  8. There is NO such thing as an Obamaphone. The free phone program was started under Bush, and is totally funded by the phone companies and private donations.
  9. " How about all the kids in Africa that have no medical, Or Mexico or South America. Does an Inner City Child deserve more than they do. Just because they were born in America?" No, we are called to help all of them too. But it's embarrassing when people die from lack in the same country that Paris Hilton makes millions for simply being famous, and some of those same inner city kids make millions and become role models, ready or not, because they can jump higher or run faster than 99% of us. Our priorities as humans are screwed.
  10. James 1:22, Matthew 5:42 and 19:20, Luke 14:12-14, Ephesians 4:28, Jeremiah 22:13-17, 2nd Corinthians 9:6-9 Those of you who like to look things up may want to look these up and read them. Is the ACA perfect? No, not to this libbie commie. But it's a step in the right direction. Jesus didn't believe in the survival of the fittest. Darwin did.
  11. So. The inner city kid of a single mom who has turned her back on the drug culture and is clawing her way out of the hood by working at McDonalds or Walmart should just die because his or her mom can't afford cutting edge cancer treatment?
  12. Fins- The arrogance you have, to tell me that I'm making assumptions on no knowledge, because I disagree with you, is astounding. How many hours do you watch Fox News, or listen to talk radio in a day? Propaganda is far from restricted to the left. Enjoy your feelings of superiority, as the greatest way of government this planet has ever known crumbles around you.
  13. I've read it. Withholding funding in certain areas is TOTALLY different than refusing to keep the lights turned on for everything! I'm sorry if you guys fail to see the damage this is doing to the form of government called representative democracy. This is a crisis on a level that we haven't seen since the Civil War, and it saddens me greatly.
  14. This is not checks and balances. THIS is legislative extortion on a scale unprecedented in American history, made possible by gerrymandering districts and creating a small group of house members who do not have to listen to anyone outside of their party, because they will only ever lose a primary, not a general election. Therefore, they are free to act like spoiled toddlers who won't share their ball with the other kids on the playground. The law passed. It's been signed and tried. In our system, IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, you WIN ELECTIONS AND REPEAL IT!! You do NOT refuse to work on other laws (like a continuing resolution to fund the government) until the law you don't like is delayed, defunded, or whatever! It is an abuse of our system that needs to end, not constitutional checks and balances.
  15. Why delay? Why not let it take effect and fail?
  16. Obama's way, the ACA, is the law of the land. Passed by the legislative, signed by the executive, found constitutional by the judicial. He has to sink the ship to uphold the law. That is the executive branch's job. 8th grade civics. I couldn't drive a car but I had to learn this dung.
  17. No, I haven't. I'm 39, self employed, and have a wife and 6 year old to support, as well as my fishing habit. I don't have the time to read the bills. I do well to keep up with the few things I read online, NPR, and the TV news. I expect my employees, that I help vote into office to read the bills in their entirety.
  18. No, we are closer to the end then we have been since Abe Lincoln saved the union. That's the issue I have with this crop of republicans. They are willing to sink the entire ship to get their way. God please help us all.
  19. They can disagree with the ACA all they want. It is a law, until they get the votes to repeal it. The end.
  20. I don't believe things would be better without the federal government. Call me a socialist all you want, but I'm glad to be part of a United States, not just a Missourian. This shutdown is TOTALLY caused by a small group of republicans/tea party/sore losers, who are demanding everything they ran on in the last election. They can't get it into their heads that THEY LOST. The democrats have already agreed to fund the government at very close to the Ryan budget, with large cuts from where they wanted the numbers to be. The spoiled brats are seeking to overturn the signature law of the democratic party, that has been a law for 3.5 years now, that was tested by the Supreme Court. They are holding all of us hostage to do so. What happens, using this precedent, if a small number of the far left wing of the Democratic Party refuses to fund the government until their gun control demands are met? Or until their is a single payer healthcare system in place?? If the ACA is so bad, let it fail. Let the people vote in people who run to repeal it at the next election cycle. Elections are supposed to be how our system works. This is much more akin to terrorism, and the United States does not negotiate with terrorists. I hope President Obama does not give an inch, because this is a DANGEROUS moment in American history, second only to the secession. I don't care if you believe the ACA is evil, I don't care if you think the Democratic Party requires the blood sacrifice of goats by the dark of the moon to join. What this group of house members is doing is destroying the very process of the constitution they swore to uphold, and it is WRONG. The end does NOT justify the means, when the means is our very system of civics.
  21. I ordered a couple of spools of sniper in 7lb test for drop shot and grubs, and a couple spools of shooter in their multicolored camo version. I like the trilene 100% in green tint a lot, but it is thick for its pound test. I was throwing 6 pound on my grubs this spring on Bull Shoals, and my father in law was getting more bites on the 4lb test that my spare rig had loaded on it for crappie. He wasn't getting the trigger pulled, but he was getting bites 3 to my 1. I loaded some 4 pound on, and it made a big difference. The 7 pound sunline is about the same diameter as 4 pound trilene fluro, so I have pretty high hopes for it as far as finesse spinning line goes. We will see
  22. I should go look at one of those fizzers. I finally pulled the trigger on a bunch of Sunline shooter and sniper. Been hearing great things, with the sale the price is worth it to me now. I'll see how I like it vs. the trilene 100 percent I've been using.
  23. You guys are gonna get me in the doghouse...
