  1. Last year I called them (JRO) to see if they would shuttle my vehicle and drift boat trailer from horse creek to galena and they said because of insurance purposes they couldn't.
  2. I'm not sure what elevation you will be at or that it will matter but that time of the year I would have some hoppers, and throw some woolly buggers and different variations. There's a pretty good fly shop in Laramie across the street from McDonalds that's worth a stop. I LOVE Wyoming.
  3. Plenty of good fish were caught running 35 mw, while wading. I've got the pics to prove it. It's not that mf kills wading. You just have to know where you can and can't.
  4. Definitely not "screaming" for minimum flow, just saying 100 cfs has more oxygen in it then 0cfs.
  5. I'm under the impression more water means more oxygen.
  6. Went out last night and hooked a nice brown. Got him to me, and bent down to take the fly out and my tippet snapped. If you see a 2 foot brown around with a megaworm in the corner of his mouth it's mine. Just below outlet 2. Only fish I caught in 3 hours. Tried a lot of different flies. They showed interest in nothing.
  7. Another argument for minimum flow?
  8. The first brown eggs to arrive in the US were from Germany. In the 1880s eggs from Loch Leven in Scotland arrived in NY. When my grandad fished the Owens River in CA in the 1950s they always called them Loch Levens. There is absolutely no way to physically distinguish the 2 strains today because they are so mixed. I have always dreamed about catching some natural loch Levens in Scotland one day.
  9. was fishing last night, and I had turned around towards the bank to change flies when I turned back around to take a step and check for boulders when I noticed a 25 pound spoonbill about 5 feet away. He seemed to be doing well. I know that most that come over the top are usually pretty beat up. It must have been doing well because it's been awhile since the gates were open. Or could he have come upstream because of all the flow, having been a Taneycomo resident for awhile?
  10. fished for a little bit tonight, started at outlet one. Not sure the actual number but it will always be #1 to me. Fishing was slow but hooked and lost a gar. Just down from outlet 1 I started noticing dead sculpins. I started to count them but the number became so many I could not keep track. Several upon several. I know I personally saw a few hundred. I talked to another guy who said it was the same downstream. It was quite alarming and I quit fishing soon afterward. I'm guessing low oxygen? But wouldn't we see more dead fish. Wondering if MDC knows about this? Should I call? Is there even anything they can do to prevent more from dying?
  11. Can you throw rubber legs all year or are they seasonal?
  12. The wife and I took a drive and ended up at beaver dam. I was really surprised to see no generation going on at all.
  13. Saw on Facebook this fish was caught this past week at powersite, has anyone heard any more about it?
  14. I think that may be the best colored rainbow I've seen outa taney.
  15. Saw a big Tree out in the main lake by Indian point. That was really the only debris we saw today. Big enough to ruin your day, but visible enough to stay away.
  16. Ya I saw that. I would like to know about today.
  17. Can anyone tell me the condition of the river today? Still up and muddy? How will it be tomorrow (Sunday) night? Anybody catching fish today?
  18. Is walnut springs a public launch site?
  19. Anglers outfitters used to have the floats and glo sticks. I would think they still do.
  20. I start stripping a few seconds after it hits the water. Slow and steady. Quick and short. Two quick with a long slow strip. Change up your pauses. Sometimes it's on the pause they hit, sometimes it's the second strip in the set. You should be able to pattern them after a few bites.
  21. Flies are on the way.
  22. Hey gents, flies will be in the mail in a day or so. I apologize for being late. We got 8+inches of snow at my house so getting out has been tricky.
  23. Hey guys I got your flies today gotta finish mine up and get my brothers. They should be in the mail no later than Monday. Btw they look great!
  24. Hey guys I'm about to knock mine out. Do you guys prefer weighted or non weighted? If weighted do you have preferences such as cone head or dumbell eyes?
  25. Should I be fishing at the mouth of the creek or in the creek. Also how deep is the main channel of the river and where is the nearest boat ramp? What time of year does this section of the river pick up?
