  1. Lots of rain since 22nd, How's the water now?
  2. Just returned from my first time fishing Crane Creek. I've been there several times, but was always doing water quality monitoring or liter pick-up. I went to the conservation area below town and went downstream from the dairy farm. The first two patterns that I tried went for naught, finally put on a birds nest nymph. The first hit shocked me; the rod felt like it was going to be pilled from my hand. Unfortunately, I never saw what hit. At least I was excited now. Two more hits from the same run left me with no fish. Really, I usually do better than that. Moved up stream and on the was just about ready to pack it in when I caught my first McCloud. Very small, but very pretty. The first one I saw out of the water and not in a photograph. I will be back to fish Crane again. The water this time was high and fast. I didn't run into anyone else on the stream; but even though our club picked up liter earlier this month, there was still an over abundance of it.
  3. For fishing Taney I like 1. Soft hackle #14 midge diamond braid caddis green body, dark soft hackle 2. Birds Nest nymph #12 or 14, shaken in a dry fly floatant and fished 12 inches or so below a split shot. You'll need to reapply the floatant after a take. 3. Griffith's Gnat # 18 or 20
  4. Been to the new location and its beginning to look real good. Michael's always ready to help you find what you need and more.
  5. Good idea Terry. By the way, that rod feels real good with a fish at the other end.
  6. Sorry about you not winning the rod Terry, maybe I'll think about you while playing a trout on it.
  7. Lots of my friends have been raving about this site, so I thought I'd give it a try. I Live in Ozark, MO and I like fishing Taney.
