  1. This guy has been selling tackle on E-Bay. Unfortunately,I recently(couple months ago) bought several wiggle warts from him. His EBay seller name is 'waterguy57',and I sent a report to EBay.
  2. Thanks a bunch. I'll be checkin the maps for such areas. This is a great site, with great, helpful folks. The info I get here has improved my 'success' quite a bit,and I just want to thank all. I just want to catch more and bigger fish....that's all. I retired to this lake because it seemed to be a challenge. It is....and I do love it.
  3. " deep roll-offs nearby"? Is this the steep,or the deeper side of a point?

    Redfin?

    What size is recommended?
  5. Window decal sounds good. 3-4 " ought to do,no? Altho red would match my boat,Flo green sounds better than pink......... Perhaps a specific color can be decided upon, and any display of such color(sticker dots, ribbon flag, bumber sticker, window sticker) would indicate an OA.com. member.
  6. E Bay has a ton of em...if you wish to pay collector prices. Occasionally,I'll grab a few and airbrush them to what I prefer. Especially, with the older suspenders, that are no longer made.
  7. Fished the Purple Heart tournament also. Wish I could have caught the fish I did the day before. At least for the vet in the boat. A good time for sure. Just a bit tough for most.
  8. Would be nice to have a sticker,or something,to identify board members. Maybe something can be figured out by those here. Boat and trailer/vehicle. I KNOW I've been fishing around other members, and probably talked to several at the launches, but how can ya tell if you don't already know them? Rainbow wigs might be a bit much, besides, this wind is hell on em.......
  9. White and red 2007 Skeeter ZX190.........with a driver full of 'ink'.
  10. I won't bore anyone with any one particular incident. I will admit, that over the years,I've committed every possible embarrassing thing one could do at a boat launch. Thankfully, these incidents occur much less frequently, but I'll never say 'I won't ever do that again'. I've long thought about making and marketing a video tape called "Boat Dock Blunders'. I'm sure it would make big $$$.
  11. I keep the cell phone with me. As far as weather,I religiously check it before I go out.
  12. A bit upriver from pt 13,I believe.
  13. Anyone have suggestions as to what size and shape for drop shot weights ? Heavier seems to shows up better,on the edge of the cone. Does it impair presentation?
  14. Now THERE'S a use for all my Musky tackle I no longer use.......
  15. Chicago's the wrong place to be this time of year. That's why I moved from there. Good Luck with the weather.
  16. I agree. I really like the Eakins jig rod. I buy Falcon rods online. Maybe a few bucks cheaper... they're usually in stock.
  17. I use the Eakin's Jig Special 6'-10 I really like it. I use it with an older model Ardent reel and 10lb green silver thread. I like it alot, and think about buying another.
  18. Thanks Don.
  19. Using Chompers football jigs w/Yamamoto twin tail grub. 6'6" MH Lowrider spinning rod,Eakins special casting rod. 8 or 10 # silver thread. I try not to 'horse' em in. That,I'm sure ,as caused some of it. May just be coincidence, but it seems to happen more when they're just 'on',without really feeling any hard strikes. Haven't felt many 'hard' strikes lately. The occasional SM will hit like a train, but most bites seem pretty soft. As a rule, this doesn't happen that often. Maybe it's just a 'thing' lately. I rarely 'keep' fish, and I don't fish 'competitively that often,so I'm not really 'losing' anything......just few fish.
  20. I've pretty much gone to spinning gear in high wind conditions. I'm starting to learn a bit of boat control now,and try to keep the pointy end into the wind. Hard to undo backlashes and fish in the wind at the same time. I've been pointing boat into wind, and dragging jig/mojo rig. This way,I can cover a long stretch AND control drift speed. Didn't have the guts to go out yesterday......too many leaves to blow. BTW, has anybody had a problem with losing jig fish? Seems that even after several hooksets, and bringing the fish a long way to the boat, too many are releasing themselves close to the boat. Almost seems like they weren't really hooked, just opened their mouths, and swam off. Doesn't happen with the 'shorts'!
  21. Would a Zoom super fluke/super fluke jr. be a decent bait for cedar tops? If so,what colors?

    Pomme

If you do(get attacked), it will definetly be a trip highlight.

Ya want to borrow my Musky tackle???? I couldn't part with it when I moved here. It's probably worth a small fortune!
  24. Them next to the boat, top-water 'attacks' darn near gave me several heart attacks while musky fishing. I like em all, especially the ones that really feel like you're hung-up....then it moves! The ones that go 'whump---whump,instead of wiggle-wiggle. The ones that you KNOW are bigguns.

    Dilemma

Exactly! "Gee honey,it couldn't be helped......now it's shot." White lies, done to upgrade toys, are perfectly acceptable!
