What a beautiful morning to start the season. Had two Drake Mallards sit down right out of gun range early? Three shovelers made a beautiful landing, but we decided to let them move on. Then the biggest surprise of the year so far, a Drake Pintail came right in. We have never in 35 years or so of hunting have ever seen a pintail at this property. We dropped him, but unfortunately he didn't have a sprig to showcase. We figure he is a juvenile. I will post a pic later, but what a day!

Sounds good!!! I think I saw a post of yours on another site as well... I have said before, but love to hunt ducks, just live a ways off of the major flyways so I only get a few good shoots in a year. Thanks again for letting me in.

What a beautiful morning. We also had less birds today than yesterday. Again by far the best teal season we have ever had... Thanks for the updates and hope you don't mind me joining in the discussions. Can't wait for November!

A little scary... Saw two or three flights of big ducks this morning going south... Seems early even for that. Teal shoot was good again this morning. Could be a record year for us on early teal... Love beautiful mornings in the Ozarks!

We killed 9 both Friday and Saturday. Poor shooting on one group or the number on Saturdy would have been higher. Sure do miss not having my lab this year... Makes the retrieves hard with out her...

The opener wasn't as good as I expected with the front that came through Friday night. But did see three groups, poor shooting on the first group but the other two came in at the same time and shot much better on those. 4 hunters=10 teal. Not bad, but not great. Will dine on some of these tasty buddies later I am sure.

Looking to buy a Chocolate Lab puppy. Don't want to pay a small fortune, but would prefer it to be out of hunting stock. Also, would prefer a female. My hunting partner for the last 10 years died about a month ago and would like to find a pup within the next 6 months to have it ready for the 2013 season. Went Tuesday the 21st, got up there by 7 and no shad to be found anywhere with very little water generating. Went out and Asian Carp and Big Mouth Carp everywhere just below the putin. Used the asian carp for cut bait to catch a few small and I mean small catfish. Caught one channel that weighed about 4lbs and other than that most were under 12 inches. Caught one decent white bass and one male white bass... They began generating quite a bit of water just before noon, but fishing was still fairly slow. One of the worst fishing trips I have ever had to Bagnell.
