  1. Looks good enough for the epoxy to show. Can always paint it after a couple years of use.
  2. Schoolcraft County is in the UP near the Fox River. Hemingway country.
  3. Those with the busses full of of drunks care more for their boats than they do the occupants. Guessing the new Mizzoura boat boat ride.
  4. Schoolcraft's travels are worth a read. Has a County in MI named in his honor too. Worth a visit.

    Whatchya Drinking?

Mint Julip's are a waste of good bourbon IMO, but derby day is always an excuse to have fun!
  6. Think you should stick to the Current, that will probably be logged by then. Others you mentioned, no outritter so no logging. Will be some stacks of logs out there after this one, does not mean it is not worth the effort, but...figure self shuttle if you want to do those. Maybe a driver to move the drop vehicle away from sketchy access points.
  7. Think you could spend an hour our two helping those in need out instead of fishing.
  8. The Piney got a ton, Boiling Spring & Devil's Elbow washed away mostly. Bunch of other stuff probably too. Hope the Hooker Cemetary sign survived.
  9. Brian posted up earlier today on Facebook. Greer has damage but does not look too bad, lots of cleanup, road work needed at Turner South
  10. Could still get there but why? Lot of driving to fish for dinks. Drive someplace else and help someone sandbag.
  11. Sunburst lost their entire campground. Nothing left but foundations and the main house, Riverhouse, Shower House, Camp Store, & Barn are all gone. ROLF experienced a devastating loss as well. Tree houses are gone for sure, cabins on the hill probably did OK. Certainly lots of damage to all the private homes along the river too. Its a horrible situation and its very sad. It will take some time for them to clean up enough to host primitive tent camping and there is no telling what river access will be like with Hammond & James bridge washed out.
  12. Think you will be fine by May 12th. Might take a week or so before the Feds open it back up to the outfitters, but by the 12th is likely. Might be fishable this weekend.
  13. Its a mess. Several bridges washed out, Justin & Amy are OK, but they lost the Riverhouse, the green cabin, and more. It looks horrible down there.
  14. Looks great!
  15. Would keep an eye on the water level, and floating might be dicey. You never know what you will encounter after a big high water event, massive log jams, etc.
  16. Good for you! Thanks for sharing your adventure!
  17. The park service will shut it down if they deem that the river level is too high. Think their guideline is 4' on the Akers guage, water over the bridge at Cedargrove is another one...It rises and falls quickly on the upper end.
  18. They might find your body, between here and Nawlins.
  19. Have done allot of lobster diving down there but no idea in your time frame. Get the Hogfish if offered, better than grouper. Seems early for tarpon, but would go for them. Baby tarpon are fun! Under 30lbs or so, Jacks are fun too. Would make inquiries in Marathon and Isle of Morada. Great spot to relax!
  20. The Mills Mall went through bankruptcy...sold for pennies on the dollar for amount owed by the developer. Not a great location even with Cabela's as an anchor. Gander Mountain in Chesterfield should be next to go. Sitters not sellers.
  21. The Current flows pretty well, no need for swivels. Water is very clear most of the time, usually fish 8lb leaders on spin rigs, 6' leader tied to braid. No swivel. Inline spinners and wee craws to prospect for trout, ned or marabou jigs will work too.
  22. Plan to go fishing soon, after we get 1st quarter payroll returns out the door. Most we cut checks/direct deposit for so easy.
  23. Worst investment that you could ever make is when you buy some units in a publically traded partnership.Broker gets a high commish, you lose, your accountant has work to do it right. Cost basis is rarely right on your brokers statement, must be calculated. Easy if you know how, not easy if you don't. Mix of ordinary income, capital gain, and AMT adjustments.
  24. Happy the worst is over but, but always a let down. 150 mph to 55 in a day.
  25. The Feds know to some extent, if a form is filed to report covered income or deductions. Lots of stuff is still not reported. Income is pretty well covered with W-2's, 1099's, and K-1's, but lots of non-compliance in the 1099 area. Most deductions & credits are not reported.
