  1. No doubt! Thank goodness not as much as I used to lol. I believe my buddy Dave has uses the Hank Parker spinnerbaits you're talking about and they only come out in tournaments.
  2. It's a booyah spinnerbait. Those and war eagles are staples around our house. In fact about 15 minutes before this Carter somehow donated a war eagle to a tree limb 20' above the water. So if you're in owl creek and can reach it it's yours for the taking.
  3. ^^^I'll go along with what this gentleman said^^^ Maybe launch the fall one at Baxter area? I'm fine at eagle rock again though.
  4. Still waiting for a reply to my pm.
  5. Yes especially if you own a humminbird. The 1' contour lines on hd lakes and being able to color your depths are hard to beat features. I like them anyway. The main thing is see what brand has the lakes you like first then just compare features.
  6. Any other fish on the S-waver?
  7. Just beautiful!
  8. Sweet! I'll get to it this week. I hope I already have the correct guide on hand.
  9. ^^^Ditto^^^ Had Carter caught this one yesterday instead of today he'd have his first trophy.
  10. Btw, my son caught his first Ned fish today. Now the poor guy is sick. I hope he's ready to go tomorrow. What happened at grand could happen here tomorrow.
  11. I love it. Timing is everything though. Patience helps too.
  12. WOW! Any rumors on what did the damage? Was there any runoff?
  13. The tater salad was worth the drive, boat gas, and rain. I really enjoyed meeting you all. I hope this becomes a regular thing.
  14. Well you've got to admit, the timing is a little unfortunate ha ha. It would be nice to get a few out there to get some critical opinions and durability testing too. I have no intention on making it a business though. It's just fun to mess with. There's a steep learning curve to a good part of it. For me anyway. I kinda thought about offering up a rod repair instead but with everybody living so far apart it wouldn't be handy for anyone. I'm just excited to meet some members. My boys will have a good time too.
  15. Well I feel like I'm offering go kart rides after John Force says he'll take you for a pass in his funny car. Earlier this afternoon/evening I sent a private message to Quill about offering 4 painted baits as a prize. Since then I've been heading to the lake and dealing with all that stuff. This can be four of yours or four blanks that I have on hand. Keep in mind I'm an amateur and in no way shape or form claim to be someone that knows what they're doing. I just wanted to contribute to the cause somehow and this was the best way I could think. It was either this or a $1000 bass pro gift card. So I'll paint baits. So however it shakes down you could be the poor sucker stuck with some junk baits I slapped paint on. Whether it's one person with all four or two people with two, it makes no difference to me. So just a disclaimer because I feel kinda stupid. I had planned this and sent the message before Hughes posted his generous donation. Hughes is the man. I'm a pee on newbie. For your sake I hope you win his prize not mine.
  16. Mmmmmmmmmm. I hope I don't embarrass myself.
  17. Yea man trades are always fun. I'll see you tomorrow
  18. Lol! I can't say. That's all I'm saying. I've said to much.
  19. That's it! I couldn't remember and didn't look it up. It came from an east coast friend.
  20. I will have a Calvin Johnson #7 risto on the ready tomorrow actually. But yes what he did and what I'm trying to learn to do is very similar. There are so many baits, combinations, and mods that it's a little over whelming. For now I'm staying with ristos and dt's mostly. My bathtub is a bait test tank now. The sad part is sometimes you have to kill one bait to get one bait. When you get something cool and different out of it though it's exciting and worth it.
  21. I forgot to mention the bait above is a balsa bait. I've thought about attempting to make a fin type bait out of pvc board that a lot of bait makers are using now.
  22. After reading all you guys have posted about redfins I've been buying them to tinker with at flea markets. I haven't got started yet but want to! Have you tried making different bills for them yet? Another thing I thought about doing is an old pop-r trick which is sanding the sides to make them lighter and float higher. One day I'll get to them. This jewel came in today. Terrible pic but I'll get a better one when I get home. It should be a good substitute for redfins.
  23. Nothing beats the sound of frogs after winter.
