  1. I assume it was bath water down there too?
  2. 48?!? Goodness! Looks like I'll be making a boat ride next week from ER myself if it's gonna be this tough.
  3. Well since you said the w word I was wondering that too. Would they be that size this time of year even if it was one?
  4. Bo I've considered asking him if I could tie my boat up there when we were down but didn't want to bother him. He has a nice piece of land. Very nice, with decent pasture etc.
  5. Also one of my boys found this. I know what it looks like but I'm not gonna say it. Any ideas?
  6. Bo and Rps you are dq'd. And yes I should have my butt kicked for leaving the boat home. I don't doubt today will be the best November day this year.
  7. Look like you got it wrangled. Nice fish!
  8. That is truth!
  9. Nice meeting you tonight Bo! I look forward to trying them out this coming week!
  10. Me too! I wouldn't reverse it but if like to go back in time and see it and the way the locals used it.
  11. Send them to tlb400ex@yahoo.com. I'll post them. You guys don't have a photobucket account?
  12. If any don't meet expectations let me know
  13. I would love it if you would pm me clarification on that first remark. I'm sure you all hold a top notch event. I've only heard good about them actually.
  14. Lol! Understood. OK is a good, gun friendly, conservative state. In my case to many in-laws live there though.
  15. If have clarify the vehicle thing. I'd rather in be in a good guys possession though rather than "loose" for some their to get a hold of. I do keep mine stored in the boat while fishing though. In a holster too. I can't completely disagree about the talking thing. Maybe as friends or in conversation but to say people announce it everywhere they go is as false as can be. The only reason anyone here knows I am is because of the question I asked Oakley. I'd have done it privately had I known some people would get their feelings hurt. Never the less they got educated. But no I disagree from my experience anyway. I've fished all day in other people's boats that have no idea I was carrying. It wasn't worth mentioning imo. If you do actually run into people flaunting it tell them to be quiet. They're doing it wrong. It's call concealed for a reason.
  16. No doubt I'm sure it's a great town. I'm sure you know I was referring to the situation there.
  17. and you and everyone else shares the blame by contributing. I'm only responding to comments directed at me so if they weren't made to begin with perhaps it wouldn't have gone this far? Maybe? Possibly?
  18. Plug I appreciate the advice. A deadly threat will be met with deadly force. That's the only way to go. In truth it would be selfish not to have that approach because if he's still alive then he's still a threat to everyone. Here's a sad reality though, even if you do get the bad guy you still have a web of legal issues coming because some distant relative will certainly want to sue you over it. Look at ferguson lol. Still protecting innocent life is a God given right and duty for us all so it's worth the risk. A friend that has had to take lives on duty has always been taken to court no matter how justified it was. It's the world we live in with zero self accountability. Now the gun fight thing, again we don't know the variables. He may not know I'm around or armed and be threatening someone else. Say a gas station hold up for example. Oakso keep in mind it's a high stress situation. He may miss. It's possible anyway. That's why any ccw holder should shoot and dry fire regularly. Also practice drawing, pressing out, and aiming your weapon in front of a mirror. Most bad guys do not train this way. Muscle memory works in everything we do from fishing to shooting.
  19. I'm not fishing the Oakley one for sure. They are the only ones specifically pointing it out. That's the best way I can answer. Please people if you want to make an accusation read what I've said. I have my opinion. You have yours. I'm by far not the only one carrying on the water. This is getting comical.
  20. I understand that and agree. That also proves a point I made earlier about why would they single that out if that's the reason it's posted. Not all are launched on COE ramps though. Especially at Grand. You know this. At table rock though what you are saying is more applicable. Also this would change when camp grounds take over a ramp.
  21. One, I conceal carry. Two, if he has a weapon pointed at me why would my odds be worse without a gun? There's way to many variables to say who would get the drop on who. Good guys do win too. Sometimes not but I want to control the variables I can. A gun is an equalizer.
  22. Mr Flysmallie, Me being slow and all I didn't have this at the ready earlier. Go ahead and read it, especially the part I put in all caps for you at the bottom. It's the law. Argue with it all you want. Hope this helps:) "In accordance with Section 571.107 RSMo., you may not carry a concealed weapon in the following places: any police, sheriff, or Highway Patrol office or station without consent; within 25 feet of any polling place on Election Day; adult or juvenile jail or institution; courthouse or facilities; any meeting of a government body (except by a member of the governing body with a concealed carry permit); bar without consent; airport; where prohibited by federal law; schools; child care facility (without consent of man- ager); riverboat gambling facility; amusement parks; any church or place of worship without per- mission of minister or person representing religious organization; any sports arena or stadium (with seating for more than 5,000); hospitals; and private or public property where posted. Possession of a firearm in a vehicle on the premises of any of the above-listed locations is not prohibited so long as the firearm is not removed from the vehicle or brandished while the vehicle is on the premises. Carrying a concealed firearm in any location specified above IS NOT A CRIMINAL ACT. However, you can be denied access to the premises or may be removed from the premises for doing so. If a peace officer is summoned:" Here's a link. It's a wonder you didn't see it yourself on your very own copy and paste adventure. Like most I assume you wanted to manipulate it to your favor by leaving out what worked against your agenda. http://www.mshp.dps.mo.gov/MSHPWeb/Publications/Brochures/documents/SHP-863.pdf
  23. I appreciate your level headed input. I mean that honestly. Let me explain though: The obbt rules are what they are. I don't agree with it so I won't participate. It's that simple. Now here's the thing this, why aren't ALL other laws listed? Why don't other organizations list it? That's my point. If it's COE law why does it need repeated? I'm choosing not to participate. Nobody has to agree with me but I came in here seeking answers and got them, mostly. Isn't it odd that the most civil conversation happened between me and the one I came to talk to? Only everyone else got butthurt about it and it didn't pertain to them anyway. I asked the dude a question. Whether I like the answer or not shouldn't matter to any of you. Again reread this thread and look at the post order and the times on the posts. I dont like the rule but he respectfully replied and that was good enough for me. There are so many other tournaments to fish it's not even funny so skipping this one like I did last year and will from here on is no biggie. I've fished an absolute boat load of tournaments in the last 12 or so years. I know what they're all about so this one isn't any better than the others I may or may not fish. I know exactly what I may be missing out on. I agree that there are places and situation that are safer than others. Does that mean you will only need or not need a way of defense in only that scenerio? Of course not. It's life. We don't choose what happens to us and we don't see into the future. I carry period. If I'm awake im carrying for the most part. Why should that change because im in a boat? I'm comfortable carrying while fishing and driving my boat. If you are then please don't. Why are you worried about me carrying while fishing anyway? I'm far from bent out of shape with Oakley. I think it's stupid and I disagree with it but that's my take on it. Should I change my ways because some guys on the Internet using a fishing forum don't agree? Or should I do what's best for me? Like I said, Oakley and I have had the most civilized conversation on this topic.
