  1. Good report! I assume the cadence was pretty quick? I'm surprised the blade didn't dominate.
  2. I agree. I'm not an advocate for what he did. It made me cringe too but...
  3. I thought that was pretty odd too. I guess it could be his farm? It may have been farther out than it looks too plus shooting down hill. It didn't look good on video but there may be more to it that we don't know I guess.
  4. Again reread what I said.... I never said I could. You said I couldn't. You said you couldn't even with your super human vision. I'm showing plenty do and it's not unusual. You know nothing (I could stop there) about my shooting ability. I haven't claimed anything about myself. Try again.
  5. Might want to go to another eye doctor.
  6. Might want to actually read what I said first. Plenty of people coyote hunt at long distances. A quick search in Google or YouTube will reveal this. People with the skill and equipment have no trouble with a 600+ yard shot. Apparently you have neither. The range I'm a member of has berms out to 600yds. A friend and firearms instructor teaches long distance shooting classes where they bust pumpkins on the last berm. MaxLifeX.com
  7. Still it would be a blast to try. I need to get one of those floating retractable poles.
  8. You make some awesome jerky is what you do.
  9. Not sporting in a way of give the animal as much of I chance yea kinda. I'm looking at it as more of a challenge making the shot. A different thrill I guess. Getting close is cool too. That why bow hunting is so enjoyable. More skill in many areas required to be successful. I love hunting. I'm not deer hunting this year though. Just no desire. I want to be in my boat more. I kinda got burned out turkey hunting trying to get one for my 8yo. No cougar sitings but we had a coyote come in the field freakin twice and howled. It was awesome but frustrating. Then he went to mousing. This cracks me up that this has went 6 pages and most of us could have a good day in the boat together. Just know if I see a threatening critter that you might need to watch for flying brass.
  10. I'm not scared of big animals. I have a gun. If I feel threatened I'll take it out. Top of the food chain for a reason. Like wrench said, I'm not ok with laying in the ar wishing is have taken it out instead of hurting some keyboard jockeys feelings lol. I'll hunt when I want to hunt and protect myself when I feel it's necessary.
  11. See I disagree here. I'm down with long distance anything. That's a different skill set that is intriguing to me. I've never done it and around here it's not exactly an option. I'd roll a coyote at 600yds and enjoy it though if I was capable and in a place safe for it.
  12. I want to do this especially with docks. It'll freak me out the first few times though dunking the camera. I assume wifi disconnects at that point so live viewing wouldn't jive which is a bummer. Of course you could immediately review it via wifi after pulling it back out. I was thinking that a guy could get good spawn bed fishing footage using a gopro.
  13. I'm only offended if that tick wasn't a threat.
  14. If you think topics stay actually on topic here you haven't been paying much attention.
  15. Just curious, a question especially for the guys that don't see eye to eye with me on this. What are your thoughts on bear hunting? Is it acceptable to you? The baiting etc? Obviously if there's a threat you brought it on yourself so that doesn't apply. It's not for the meat (I assume) and the fur isn't popular enough for harvest I wouldn't think. I don't care one way or the other. I have zero desire to see a bear while I hunt or go on a bear trip. Now if they're killing it just to kill a bear I disagree with it. If they can use the hide etc that's different. If they're a nuisance or require population control like coyotes I get it too. I'm just curious.
  16. I've always wanted to try paca chunks on a shakyhead. My son has but I've never done the home work. The batwingz are interesting though if the action is paca craw good. If anything for the durability.
  17. I guess this is where I differ from some of you. I'm apparently less comfortable around critters like that. I'm also not going to wait until it's attacking me before I shoot it. It's faster and meaner than me. Even there was 100yds between us there's no guarantee it'll be stopped before getting to me. I mean if it was running right at me, not casually walking along. So if kill it if I felt the need with no machoness involved. I have no desire to see one period so killing one for bragging rights means nothing to me unless it was a nuisance critter like a coyote etc. Nevertheless that's my view. Fact: You'll either get over it or you won't. Btw congrats on the bow kill Justin. To all the others hunting tomorrow be careful.
  18. Was I the only one voicing my opinion? Sorry but people judging a man about his actions when they don't know what really transpired drives me nuts. Especially when they claim his life is worth less than that of an animal. Even if he did kill it for spite that's a bull crap statement.
  19. If I don't change my actions in that situation based on your distorted view then nope.
  20. Sensationalize it any way you want dude. I don't much give a crap.
  21. No idea what you're talking about. No avatar showing on my end. Like I said, don't want to be confused with one don't act like one!
  22. Nope all we have is his testimony and the word of the officers that are apparently believing him too. Or you could be right being totally clueless not being there or knowing the hunter or even hearing his full testimony. I'm glad though. He has nothing to prove. One less threat to people, deer, pets, and cattle roaming around.
  23. Then at what point is it acceptable to kill something your not hunting? Want a clue on how to not get confused with an anti hunting liberal peta fruit cake?
