It can be one a full moon with a pencil popper Nathan. That is one of the most deadly tactics and one I seldom talk about as most people don't want to spend hours at night throwing one for 1 fish.

A. not really lol. B. YES I am a business professional C. Cant due to Heart condition ( but I have been known to provide a spirit of the land owners pleasure for the privilege of hunting their land or a hot tip ) though walmart gift cards work even better. D. Got me again love the outdoors and everything about them. Mouthing off now ive been known to when provoked. ( Actually dog cussed one land owners grandson last year, Long story short he was being dangerous I saw it and let go both barrels on him all the way to the house and when we got their his gramps and grama asked why I had the nerve to do that, when I explained why, well lets just say the woodshed was done proud that day though I did feel bad only because his grandmother heard me and I try not to use that many words in a string around a woman but Man was I mad ) And Nope wont change who I am for anyone. The Big man Upstairs has molded me the way he wants and I will stay true to that.

Johnny is Natural talent, Run Pass and Smart. Also he is a Bad Boy to a degree. Tebow never impressed me, but anyone who can beat Bama and make Satan upset impresses me. If he stays healthy it will be a great year for ATM.

I was thinking about this today. I hunt many of the creeks and rivers for ducks, I have never had a problem and met many land owners. Sure they asked what I was doing and when I told them they were actually more than helpful and pointing out where the birds liked to be and in more than a few cases called a neighbor to see if they were there and sent me to them ( the birds) So why is it I can hunt these areas and have nothing but good interaction with land owners yet floaters cant? Only thing I can think of is I am not out here drinking and trashing the place. I am certainly Making noise and without doubt above highwater mark in many cases yet NEVER had one issue with them. Heck I have even been invited out of the river and on to some of the stock ponds by the owners. Something is different in this picture can you find it?

If you have front clips on your boat both sides of take a rop and run it so it is tight when connected to both of them run the sock off it that will help stabilize the boat for control. -
Its a firm dense meat not like most fish. see pictures I posted you can see its different.

I've caught 6 this year all striper all 20 to 30 pnds all released ( hate me all you want for that ) but its nice to hook up one of those beast and they are FAT. I don't know how the Biologist will get them out like Flyfsh says they are super spooky and very hard to get. Best method I have found is running a planer board to the opposite bank and the bait 200 feet behind it and move very slowly drifting just a little faster than the current so the bait has action. When one does go after it the water will turn in to a washing machine and if he misses the bait stop the boat they will come back for it sitting there. This is one time you never want to set the hook until line is screaming off the reel. If you target them plan on many days of no fish for that one BIG BITE.

I would just like to see the police report and not the media accounts, those two things seem to differ more and more each year. Just a thought, if the shooter left the scene then returned with the gun the charges could be bumped up to M1 as it shows premeditation. A lot of things we do not know YET. I also have been forced to think what would I have done had a ( person ) came walking at me with a gun while I was on a river. That to me is a threat to my life and those with me, unless he was in uniform or identified himself as an official he is a threat and if he would have waved the gun I may well have shot. I cant say for sure as I wasn't there but the floaters may well have had the self defense argument.

Yes. I buy new hooks and simply file the barbs off then install them. Those are LARGE stripers in the area but as I have said in the past its a lot of casting and trips to get one. When you do tie in to one though its a bulldog fight.

This story has made the AP and many news agencies now. Here is my fear; People now have heard about this and WILL carry now. My fear is now if a land-owner or floater have a confrontation a gun will now be used. Castle law does not apply here sheriff has confirmed that.

I want to go every morning but work gets in the way to often

From the comments something in the news reports sounds fishy or maybe the comments are fishy. When the Police Report comes out we will know better what has happened.
-
Yup they are there but getting them is the trick, with the new regs in place I suggest using large 12'' to 16'' trout imitation swim baits.

No Attorney Generals "opinion" holds a hill of bean to the Court. Judges ruling is LAW! Attorney Generals "Opinion" is -------Well we all know what they say about Opinions.

I am the biggest hater of imminent domain as a rule but this is a case where Missouri should just exert authority and make all ( floatable ) rivers fall in to it from center of river to high water mark. End the confusion end the problems for good.
-
I went on Google Earth and looked at the area and the house seem to be a way off the river. The Bars are very clear and would be well below high water mark so should not be a dispute about being on someones property. That said we do not know the full story. Now that said I think many of us on here are not all that suprised, we have talked in many threads about the rivers and some have said this was going to happen sooner or later. Heck right now there is a thread about Spavinaw going on and how most stay off it because of land owners. I hope this case wakes up lawmakers and they act to protect all who use the water Lakes, Rivers, Streams or whatever. Its been ignored to long (the altercations between water users and land owners) it is high time it is not ignored any further.

I use several materials to make flies for them but the best for beginners would be take a 5/0 long shank hook put crazy glue on the shank and run it through the rope and finish it off with a solid tie on the front. You can do the same thing with weighted hooks for baitcasters.

Fatal Shooting On The Meremac Near Steelville

Apparently it was a property owner. Sherriff Dept not commenting yet. http://www.ksdk.com/rss/article/389182/3/Man-shot-in-head-while-on-float-trip -
I have two hotspots of Beaver. Both are Pin-ups, They are used purely to track the migration patterns of the fish and stay home. In the boat its my sonar units GPS, truth be told I DO NOT USE IT that often. I zero in on a bottom depth line or shore feature, If the fish stop on the one I am on I go to the Droid and open Google-Earth and look back in time on the map and find a similar area and head for it. I know the lake but cant remember everything. Say the fish are biting on a long point with a northerly hook and the point faces east. A few minutes on Google and I can find other points like that. Most maps that can be bought, have been, and usefulness is minimal at most until the angler starts marking them up with things not on them from the factory. Other option is make your own maps which is what I do most the time of the most productive areas.

I am not holding my breath it would be nice to see a hard smash mouth run-offense but he better be able to back it with a mobile QB and powerful air attack. Respect the run FEAR the Air. I don't think he will have that this year maybe a next year or year after. He needs to put up some Wins though but at the same time I and I think many fans understand he inherited a mess courtesy of bad recruitment by BP and horrible moral courteous JLS. If ever a College coach had a mess it is him. If he gets us a 6/6 season I will be happy. No matter what though its almost that time of year and I love College Ball.
-
On the fly; you aint kidding I know season ticket holders who were giving them away. I think Coach B will change a great many things around, but if he cant produce the Hill is not going to be a friendly place for him or someone else. We had to get rid of BP no doubt about it but what he got was worse than anything I have ever seen in sports.

Fatal Shooting On The Meremac Near Steelville

A lot of what is spilling out here is spilling out all over the place. People are sick and tired of the Race Card being played they are tired of all the scandals surround this administration ( what is it 8 now ) they are just getting fed up with the direction the country is going. Most on this site care deeply about this country their families and friends. Also many of us are old enough to remember much better times. It is hard not to get Mad at what you see and hear every day on the news or just going in to buy coffee at Mickey D's in the morning. Our politicians are so out of touch with America it sickening and Phil is right we cant change it here, but come 2014 we can and should if possible. I think most on here have very high morals and ethics and though they may differ they are similar in many aspects. I think most of us on this site were born about 100 years to late. I am starting to think a great many Americans are wishing they were. Who knows the answers but sure seems like more people are wanting answers and simpler times. -

Randy, that's the Bible in chapter form. -
Stumpy, you don't see it posted or talked about, I know several people who have and do catch holdover on the Rock in summer, I went with them earlier this summer and had a good trip 8 trout for 6 hours but all were 3+ pounds. I have a friend who has caught them. Its just not talked about. It requires lead line 7 colors out and panther martins. I said I would do it last year on here and DID but it took a lot of asking around and finally getting hooked up with a pair of old guys who do it, part of that was a promise not to tell where so it wasn't much to post about if you cant say anything more than I just did. Beaver is also not the Rock, Beaver the trout would be forced to migrate more for deeper colder water as there is no cold water influences like the rock has.
