  1. Bows sited, Geese are located, and im ready and off work today. And don't want to keep seeing this crap spilling out because of lack of enforcement, they do it there next is here... hell its already here to a lesser degree.
  2. That is unproven yet So I'm optimistic till after week 4 and if we beat the Fly Circus this weekend it could be a moral boost that sets the tone for the season. This Game could be the turning point or it could be the continuation of the mudslide.
  3. Well Im glad you got in to fish, and what you do with them is your business as its legal so not really anything someone should say.
  4. Terry they are very good eating, Cleaning them is not as hard as people make it out to be. http://youtu.be/eOJZZsGCoLU I suggest getting a good pair of snips though Like this http://www.harborfreight.com/hand-tools/snips/heavy-duty-left-cut-aviation-tin-snips-90720.html mine are actually a lot heavier I bought them at ABC Supply in Lowell. There are many other videos but that's the fastest one on youtube time of video wise. As to the table fair I have seen them from 22 to 80 bucks a plate in good restaurants, I really like them myself and as you can see its basically a white meat back strap.
  5. You know what your getting on the Elk and no way to prevent it unless they call in the National Guard and then make sure its only members who are Puritans. My issue is this is in a STATE PARK who's very mission statement contradicts this event. Those parks should be family friendly at all times and any event that would detract from it and the mission statement should be squashed like a bug. My problem from the first post I made is about that, not what happens on other rivers, or streams but what is happening in the Park.
  6. LSPU, is worried they lost to many stars last season and the Brett might well be building a Cornfed monster D-line that will destroy them. I hope he is building a Wis style D-line only with Speed and Strength to go with that BULK.
  7. Real simple common sense in this case.... The Police Already and with very good advanced notice, know about this event and its potential. Doesn't take much to super saturate the area with LEO's from Local Sheriff, State Police, Marshalls, Fish and Game. Bring the prison busses and fill them up and haul them off. Just that sight alone should make people think twice and behave and those that don't, hit them with the book for being Darwin contestants. You might be surprised how much self policing will go on with that presence worked in Palm Springs, works in Daytona and Lauderdale its simple logic to the rednecks also even a mathematical formula their brains calculate ( Bail money takes away from Beer money ).
  8. Quill, I hate when people say that,Rivals are not forced upon but made on the field and the NCAA or SEC whomever trying to create one is just stupid! Ar already has one and there is a boot on the line. That game should never have been messed with.
  9. Ive been to Both numerous times and throw in Daytona and Ft L, But you already said why they don't get completely out of hand ( POLICE ENFORCEMENT ) and that is exactly what most of us are saying is needed here to keep it from happening. I have seen arrest at all the venues you list for people who took it to far and crossed that line.
  10. What I find interesting is that Amazement parks ( some sell alcohol ) Concert venues ( do sell alcohol ) City Parties/fest with alcohol and so many other events all seem to be ran fine some daily with none of the crap you see on our rivers. Can someone answer me why all those venues can happen with alcohol and people having good times and for ALL AGES, yet our rivers and streams cant do it for 2 hours on a weekend?
  11. 1st rule is stay at maximum casting distance from them, you want to be able to cast to the back of the boil or middle never the front. The further away the best as boat and noise puts them down. 2nd Cast bubble is your friend tie it on fill half way with water and have a 3to 5 ft leader behind it with a Bobby Garland, Clouser or some other fly on and hang on. Nice thing about a fly it can be paused the bobber is the noise maker the bait gets the bite. 3rd one onf these days I will learn to stop giving my secrets away lol.
  12. You missed the opening game this weekend and it was a good one. I stumbled on it and there went that afternoon. It looks to be a good year a lot of teams rebuilding a lot of great new talent and who knows maybe some big shockers, though I am concerned about this playoff selection thing.
  13. OTF I don't get offended easily but I take high offense to a State Park condoning this and that is what they are doing. I get the Elk I don't have to like it but I get it... But this is a State Park that is suppose to be free of activities exactly like this. I sure couldn't have fun in that kind of environment even in my youth there was lines not to be crossed and keep in mind I pretty much grew up on Hollywoods Sunset strip. There are things human eyes should never have to see because there is no burning it from your memory.
  14. I just reread this thread and just really have to sit here and ask this question? This is a State Park do you get that? A place that is suppose to be safe and friendly for everyone, Yet they KNOW that activities about to happen will offend people enough they posted the sign. YOU WOULD NEVER see this at a public park, or downtown event as the police would be hauling them off to jail wholesale fashion. So why should a state park one who's very mission statement talks about law enforcement? I say line up the cruisers and start loading the backs up with anyone breaking the law, if the activity wouldn't be allowed anyplace else it shouldn't be here. There is no condoning the activity or the actions of the state park. Put a cop at the entry and let them know there will be ZERO tolerance and arrest will be made.
  15. Now that is just wrong you know I was working lol, Great Day Terry.
  16. Ok for you that have never seen anything interesting ( this is a child friendly forum ) go to you-tube type in Girls of Havasu 1 and enjoy... I remember going there with my grandfather in the late 70's to early 80's and it NEVER looked like that until a vegas radio station started a party promo in the late 80's 25 or so years later this is what it looks like. So is this what the Ozark streams are going to be in a few more years? Is this what you really want and that is a very tame video compared to what goes on off camera.
  17. WOW, Talk about absolute proof of what many of us say all the time about the need of enforcement. This is basically saying we know its going to happen, we don't care and wont do anything about it, so if you dont like it stay THE _ _ _ _ away. And worse its from the State Park and this goes directly against its mission statement. Mission/Value Statement MISSION STATEMENT The mission of the Missouri State Park Rangers is to provide professional law enforcement service and protection to all park visitors, their property and the cultural and natural resources of Missouri’s state parks and historic sites. We want our visitors to have the opportunity to understand, appreciate and enjoy Missouri’s cultural and natural heritage in a safe, secure environment. VALUE STATEMENT Missouri State Park Rangers value human life and the pursuit of happiness, as guaranteed by the United States Constitution. We believe that integrity is the basis for community trust. We strive for personal and professional excellence. We are accountable to all Missourians; visitors to state parks and historic sites, and to each other. We are a dedicated, caring, capable group of professionals who perform important and satisfying work for the people visiting state parks and historic sites.
  18. To answer the question. This is a White River Border Lake and has special rules. Missouri and Arkansas recognize the sport fishing and resident commercial fishing licenses of the two states on the flowing waters of the St. Francis River that form a common boundary between the two states. A sport-fishing licensee or legally exempt resident of either state abides by the regulations of the state issuing the license. The agreement does not apply to tributaries, bayous and backwaters of the St. Francis River. A White River Border Lakes License (WRL) is available for a $10 annual fee. This license allows holders of a valid resident license from either state to fish all waters of Bull Shoals, Norfork and Table Rock lakes without a fishing license from the other state. The permit is valid for impounded waters (the waters between Beaver Lake Dam and Houseman Access in Arkansas are excluded). Trout may not be taken with this license. Anglers younger than 16 do not need to buy this license to fish in Missouri waters. Anglers are required to abide by the fishing regulations of the state where they are fishing. The only differences in regulations are: On Table Rock Lake, spotted bass must be at least 12 inches long to keep (Arkansas) or at least 15 inches long to keep (Missouri). On Lake Norfork, anglers may take up to three stripers and hybrids and 25 white bass of any size per day in Arkansas, except for striped bass, which must be over 20 inches. In Missouri, anglers may take up to 15 stripers, hybrids, white and yellow bass, only four of which may exceed 18 inches long. Remainder of the regulations Area Specific Regulations Crappie, black and white, combined daily limit is 15. Crappie must be 10 inches or longer to keep. Largemouth and smallmouth bass must be 15 inches or longer to keep. Spotted bass must be at least 12 inches long to keep. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass combined daily limit is six. Smallmouth bass daily limit is six. Striped bass must be 20 inches or longer to keep. Striped and hybrid bass combined daily limit is three. Walleye must be at least 18 inches long to keep. Walleye daily limit is four. Legal to take game fish (except largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass) with spear guns during season. You may not use live wild-caught baitfish on Norfork Lake unless said bait was caught on Norfork Lake (including the watershed above the lake) or purchased from an Arkansas licensed dealer. The White River Border Lakes License entitles the holder to fish in the Missouri portion of Norfork Lake without buying a Missouri nonresident license. Handicapped-accessible fishing pier available at the Cranfield Recreation Area. That is from the AGFC Website.
  19. OK missed that. In that case boater was not respectful
  20. If you were facing due west that would be 9 oclock, they came in at 1 oclock NE which is behind you, they anchored and started fishing, you didn't give distance but coming in behind someone so long as its a reasonable distance I see no problem with as they did not cut you off. We don't own the water none of us but if respect is shown and coming in behind a person so not to cut them off is certainly more respectful than half the crap I see. People make phone calls and even quiet talking in some coves can be heard and some people are just loud when speaking anyway. Now circling the cove if it was cutting you off that means going in front of your bow then there is an issue but as long as they stayed behind you I wouldn't be upset. Ya it put the fish down but again none of us own the water. Now playing the devil here had they come in behind you and you turned back on them then they could be saying the same thing about you. Best rule I use when coming in where other boaters are is to come in behind them, to me that is used water and the person has obviously left it. Maintain respectable distance I try and maintain 300 yards on open water and in tighter areas at least 100 yards. I try not to be loud but if I am by myself I might play the radio. I do not turn back on boats that came in behind me as that is disrespectful and secondly if they are not under power depending on lake is a possible violation of boating law and certainly is if they are anchored. I don't know all the details of the cove size you were in or distance they were at but if you had left the area or appear to have moved on then "Used water" is fair game. though a respectful distance should be given.
  21. You have never seen the Pirates of Reelfoot video have ya lol.
  22. http://youtu.be/hN2gMP3Q2Z4
  23. Ya I can think of a couple creeks and ponds as well thinking about it but still wouldn't do it. You think leaches will be bad imagine guys bringing up bait from the AR River and having some flying carp in with them they thought were shad, that get released in the lake. Picture Mr Wake boat with tubers in tow going 30mph down the lake when they come across a school of 30lb flying carp and get hit by them. That will cause a major reaction I bet, it would be a big hit to tourist dollars when the waters are to dangerous due to flying dangers.
  24. Terry that bothers me that someone is introducing an invasive species in the system. I can only imagine the first time bathers start getting leeched.
  25. Thanks Nathan, I really cant do this report without the people helping. Right now there is about 15 to 20 people who send me reports each week and I have had up to 30. Bass reports are hard to come by which was no surprise but I'm hoping after the Everrett tourney I can get some of those guys reporting back in. Stripers are actually pretty easy to get reports on people like catching big fish and sharing it, I have been playing with different formats for the report and hope to soon be able to get Photographs in it as well. FB drives me crazy sometimes with what you can and cant do and how fun it is < not > having to resize or reformat pics and sharing of video. One thing I will NOT do in the report is give false information or misdirection information. I remember when I moved up here reading some of the reports and going to the spots listed or fishing the depth or baits listed. I cannot tell you how much I money I wasted because of that. I came up with about 200$ per trip and it makes me mad every time I read a report like that. There is no reason to say that, like the repeated report saying walleye are in 5 to 10ft of water, there might be the odd-ball but the vast majority are in 25 to 40 and ( Leeches ) for bait? There is a bunch of walleye anglers on this site will one of you tell me where your getting leeches? Better yet who wants leeches put in Beaver I sure have never seen one. I know there are 22 species in Arkansas but they are not very common and are in small pockets. If people are putting them in Beaver I would be concerned about it very concerned. Sorry getting on a major rant, I just get so mad every time I think of how much money I wasted because I trusted the report and how much money others waste by listening to it. That's why I make dam sure people who are giving me info are honest about it and wanting to help.
