  1. Ya it would be sales tax holiday so they had to get the spot to save money and who gives a dam about the courteous people behind you waiting to get the spot.
  2. Parents who have no clue what a belt is or restriction means.... Instead its time out and and then buy them everything they want so they have no clue what it means to earn something.
  3. Randy you lost all your marbles over the appliances and trying to end it before the boss gets back... No sane person or wanting to live would have fished that zone on a weekend before mid September earliest. Then again Yakfm and I fished Beaver last night in the dark and had boats passing us with no lights and plenty come within 50 to 70 feet waking us. These lakes are getting to be stupid.
  4. LMAO.... Ya I know but it was just one of those things you see and for some uncontrollable reason you buy it. Hey there is a .01% chance the hogs will win the West this year. But hey stranger things have happened, I once saw a class of kids actually come in sit down and listen to the teacher.
  5. There are some things in life you see and just have to buy because your brain said HMMMMM and this was one of those times.
  6. well well well there they are.... some are still backorder but shows others in stock.
  7. KJ, There is a number of guys up north who have them they got them for testing or were friends with someone, and those people have been posting pics for some time but I have not heard of anyone selling them yet. I did get to see a live underwater video of the minnow in action the other day but that was through a friend who is on Lake Erie and had got some. They are the perfect compliment to flicker shad. Those who use flickers will think the minnow is broke as it snakes through the water and doesn't flicker as the minnow is designed to mimic larger baitfish. That lead me to wonder if it will be a good producer in southern walleye waters where shad is the #1 Baitfish, im sure it will catch a few but I bet the flicker out does it.
  8. HLS HAS SHAD? that's news to me lol do have minnows though.
  9. If you see fish at 30 fish at 28 if they are at 40 fish at 38, My rule of thumb is to fish 2ft over what I am marking the stripers will rise and if you have multiple poles it increases the odds.
  10. OH and before Nick says one word about my Fish Basketball abilities in my defense his cooler was large and they were only 3 point range shots.
  11. I can guess which one it is then and would agree it will produce. I would love to get over there but im staying off the leg for a while unless I have to be on it.
  12. It must have been killing you. Thank god Doc had his new toy or he would have been going nuts to tell... Thanks everyone its a great place to work.
  13. Google earth google earth google eart earth earth.... Google earth... Island ... channel edge .. timber near... turning on gps tracker on Randy's boat lol... Way to go.
  14. Um I'm sueing her for steeling my catfishing trick. Lol
  15. Only as good as what honest people tell me... Im having a bear of a time getting the weekly report ready this week for the FB page, the bass fishermen have lock jaw worse than the bass, seems the front made both have a bad case of mouth shut syndrome.
  16. Thanks Mitch Jason what you get is a 10% add-on tax lol
  17. More and more people are finding out so I figured its time to let the cat out of the bag. I am now working at Hook Line and Sinker in Rogers. I had one of those times in a persons life they needed a major change. I left my old job and went fishing the following Monday to start getting my head back on straight, I stopped by HLS to get some bait and asked Aaron to keep and ear out if he heard of anyone hiring and one thing lead to another and well the rest is history. Feels reel good and knowing Aaron and the guys before I knew the kind of people I would be associating with and that is more than most can ask for. So if have questions PM me and I will give you my hours and you can swing by and I will try and help you get set-up.
  18. Sorry I wasn't able to get in better detail work got real busy right as I started to post yesterday. 1. Jigging raps are very effective critters on the lake and I can now say that as I finally got past the learning curve and figured out the cadence that seems to work on beaver... It is a cast out and let sit for a count of 20 then do a quick snap let it sit for a count of 3 then two quick short snaps and let it sit for a count of 5 keep repeating process on way back to boat I am getting the pick-up on the sit ( they will pick it up and you will see the line move ) or they will slam it right as you pick it up after the pause. 2. Using 1/4 oz jig heads I put on a brooder minnow and drop it down and slowly lift and let set the set time is a count of 5 then lift about 5 feet and follow the line back down they hit it down or sitting. 3. Using a 1/4 to 1/2 oz jig head I will tie on a 4inch line to the hook bend and put a #5 octopus hook on it. Then put thread a crawler on the hook to the eye and place the other hook in the crawler and slowly jig it back in. If you hit a pod of them you can slowly swim it back in bouncing the bottom and load up fast. 4. XPS Spoons yes its a spoon but I use them as a aggressive jig as well popping it just enough off the bottom to mimic a dyeing shad, by far one of the most effective ways to catch beaver lake walleye.
  19. LOL, I couldn't be happier to see you with that fish you earned it and I never mind questions glad you caught one now you need to get that 40lb fish.
  20. Yes we do jig them
  21. You can apply it to the entire lake if the conditions are right. A point in Prairie Creek maybe holding fish if it has X structure and X bait and Y Temp. Temps may vary but you move up and down the point to find it, Bait may vary but again find that point near the dam and odds are it will have an eye or two. Deep for walleye is typically between 25 to 40 feet but more times than not if you find them in 30feet at one spot they will be 30 feet at another as to points you learn from experience if they want long running points or short ones and if they are holding on them near channel edges or flats but catch one walleye and you should be able to pattern a few more. The lake has hundreds of "points" but only a few might be productive, the one nice thing about walleye is typically if you catch one you can use that info to catch others. Electronics are very important in telling you depth and bottom structure or if bait is around. I am well know for spending time not fishing looking over an area if it is not holding the structure, bait and depth I move on to find it and when you do you will see the fish on it.
  22. Electronics certainly help but I have yet to see one that can tell you with 100% certainty its a bass or walleye or carp. Yes over time good anglers can narrow down the possibilities but there is still that uncertainty and that is where the skill of figuring out the bait and presentation comes in. First came the flashers and those helped put people on fish and then the progression in technology but it has always remained the ability of the individual anglers skill in catching a fish that puts them in the boat or not. I have gone behind plenty of guys and put fish in the boat and had guys do the same to me. The fish may want a C-rig and I was throwing a spinner.
  23. Never leave home without it, I might leave the credit cards and wife but not my thermacell.
  24. I don't wish anyone harm but a very large citation would be fine with me. Then the courts to throw the books Max at them.
