I did notice that my favorite rock crawler has a dark yellow bottom on it after seeing your post. They do love that color. This was our 5th keeper. At least this one wasn't on the carpet. You Missouri guys notice the college emblem?
-
I wish I would have read this 15 minutes ago. I wouldn't have posted my pics. I will work on not letting them lay on the carpet.
-
I'll try to take pics without letting my bass touching the carpet from now on. I don't want to be responsible for dead bass floating up and down the Kings or White.

We caught 18 with 5 keepers with the lm in the net going 3lbs. All fish were caught on a rock crawler in about 10 fow sitting in 16' to 20'. Water temps started a little over 51 and by 4pm warmed up to 54.6. We caught them on main and secondary pts. and main lake 30 degree banks. Water visibility close to 3 ft. Water seemed a little murky in spots. Majority of the fish were spots.

Steve, did you both have the same colored Wart on? One looks like it had a little more orange on the bottom. -
As soon as it stays up to 60 consistently I'm going to have the small and a large one on. I can't wait to throw them. There's just something about them and they're easy to throw. I caught alot of fish on them last year. The smaller caught more but the big one gets you excited for that bigger bass. So much easier to throw than a buzzbait at least for me.

That Bass in the first pic had a small part of her tail bloodied up but she didn't look like she was full of eggs.

I got my mowing in and took off to fish the afternoon around 3pm.in 25 to 35 mph winds. I caught 8 overall with 3 keepers. The spot on a main lake point on a spring craw crawler and the two largemouths halfway back in a cove in about 3 fow. Both largemouth were caught in the same small cove and went a little over 4 and a little under 5lbs. I thought I was onto a big fish pattern but only caught the rest of the non keepers throwing the chartreuse and green spinner in coves. Water temps were 57 when I quit around 5:30 and the wind was still howling. Water is still maybe about 2 ft. visibility with a murky green tint.

51 here at 7am and 15 mph winds. They're suppose to get up to 40 today. Probably a good day to mow.

We started out around Viney (which is still locked) in 50.1 water temps. Picked up 8 on the spring craw and phantom brown rock crawler on main lake points, secondary points and along the inside banks of main points. Fish were not in the shallows for us today in the areas we fished. By 3pm water had warmed up to 54.6 by pt. 22. Last tuesday the wt around pt.22 was 60 degrees. We caught only 4 on the spinner. One chunky Kentucky was our only keeper. Water had a greenish tint with about 4' visibility. Wind blew up to 20 and more at times and then finally settled down later in the day. All fish were in the 8 to 12 fow. I hope to fish the kings first thing in the morning if the gusty winds aren't blowing.

Good day on the lake. Great pics. Sweatshirts and jackets in the morning and tee shirts in the afternoon.

m&m is right on the sun helping to warm things up. I've been out every day this week and two things have been consistent every day even with the wind shifting from south a couple days to north then back to the sw. They hit first thing in the morning until 11 and then up shallow in the late afternoon. We've been catching them in coves all the way to the back the later it gets. Spinners in the morning and Rock crawlers 6 to 8 fow. and spinners shallow. Nothing over 2 1/2 lbs. I've been fishing the white from shell knob to pt.23. Parallel to the bank in about 8' and bouncing the crawler has gotten alot of bites in the afternoon. Water Temps have dropped down to 55 and 56 from 60. Good luck.

Got on the water around 1 . The Kings is really muddy with small debri floating. Threw a chartreuse spinner with no luck for about 45 minutes. Decided to head up the White past pt. 22 to some 30 degree banks with bushes in the water. Sitting in under 20 fow and throwing as close to the bank as I could. Very few bites in front of the bushes but the majority of my 21 non keepers came about 10' out in approx. 10 fow. I had 1 15" smallmouth and the rest were kentuckies. Caught a few on main pts. and sec. pts. I went to the back of two small coves and caught 2 or 3 in each. Warmest wt I found was 58.8. Sorry no pics but I got a new phone and I didn't feel like sliming it up yet. The bite quit about 5:30. Once I got to the clearer water on the White I changed to the mouse color in the war eagle spinner. Theres no more slow rolling the spinner. They hit it hard and heavy. Had at least 10 to 12 just knock it sideways I missed. Nothing big but it was fun. Some big boats out today, you can tell it's spring break. I got a pic of a bald eagle in her nest .

Thanks, was the hook shank long enough for some larger baits.

I want to put together a lighter 5 wire a rig that's legal here in Mo. Anybody have suggestions for me on using any certain type of weighted hooks. Something less than a quarter oz. I want to keep it up in the water column and make it easier to throw longer distances.

The Rock Creek area had some great green tint to it wed. when we were fishing it. We noticed several bass chasing schools that afternoon.
-
Thanks Bo, how was the water temp? The muddy water is coming just when the kings was starting to look great with that green tint it's known for.

Good day on the water Champ. At least you caught fish on such a dreary day. Was any part of the day better for catching them?

I've been using the Hi Seas brand of lines of fluorocarbon, co-polymer and mono for a year and haven't had a problem. Some of their lines are really inexpensive where you can change them out often if need be.

Thanks, I love to hit the bluffs when they're hitting the jig or a worm. It seems alot of people pass the bluffs up.
