  3. Thanks wrench I'll check this out and get back
  4. FishinWrench and others, looking for some help. I noticed before my last couple smallmouth trips that when I checked the oil, it was plum full to the top of the stick, the oil was thin and smelled of gas. So I changed the oil and filter and went fishing, it didn't seem to me to accumulate any more that time. I fished again with it a week later, and now it's sat for a couple weeks. I checked it earlier today and it was full again. Not sure if I got it setting there, or from my second trip? I talked to a local tech guy and he said there's a diaphragm in the fuel pump that will bust and put gas in the oil. I'm also wondering if leaving the gas hooked up in the hot sun would cause this. I"ve had my shop full working on harvest equipment and the boat has been setting out the past week in the heat. I'm wanting to look at the diaphragm, wondering if anybody can tell me from these pics where to look for it, or am I barking up the wrong tree? thanks for the help. Bret.
  5. Well done for your first smallie. Your ruined now....
  6. Sweet Fish man, Congrats!
  7. Pretty neat video here, shows how a smallmouth will hold it's ground. http://mysterytacklebox.com/blog/unbelievable-man-catches-fish-water-video/
  8. I've bought from Fred before, good guy, runs a good business! He has a lot of the business here in NE AR now to.
  9. yeah, ran it last week, forgot to pull plug before the big rain..lol. It's got a mesh floor in it as well, need to show that without the water huh..
  10. I'm selling my War Eagle 1754 shadow. It primarily was a Duck and catfish boat for me. The boat is an 02 model, and the 50hp Evinrude etec is a 2011. The moter might have between 10 and 15 hours. I don't duck hunt much, and am looking to sell the boat for a blazer. The boat is in good condition, and this model was a favorite with winding rivers, it will corner on a dime. asking 7500$ I can get more pictures, having trouble getting them downloaded this morning, can post more when I get back from work..
  11. Me to MOsmallie. Saw a facebook pic back In the winter of a guy that fished upper Black river somewhere in the winter, had a 3 person limit of 14inch and up smallies. They were within regs, but still hurt to see that, made it sound like they went there regularly..
  12. Mitch, that sounds about right, i'm looking at some 16 or 1752 with a 40. I love my supreme, but I'm not taking it on the Mississippi river, and it's not the greatest bass rig, but it works. I think that 1752 would be an all around boat for me. Ditto on the .100 guage..
  13. I've about decided to sell my duck boat and I've sold a few old pieces of farm equipment I wasn't using, and replace with a larger jet boat for fishing the Current River here at home. I don't duck hunt like I did, and can ride with my buddy no more than i'm going now. I'm looking hard at the blazer boats, but have also thought about getting another War Eagle that is set up more for fishing, but with a jet, I know the blazers are made for those. I see a ton of them around here, so i'm thinking there the go to boat for what i'm wanting, and they seem to resale excellent? Any thoughts?
  14. Golden words of wisdom here, I learned the hard way more than once, even to this day I still do this a lot.. I started out with a 1963 sears and roebuck v bottom my grandfather ordered out of a catalog, and a 64 18ph Johnson (that I used in the mid 90's) It had me paddling more than once..lol, but I was happy as a lark when I was on the water with it. You'll love having a boat, it opens up a lot of water, and you'll have an easier time making fishing buddies to....
  15. I can tell you they still work. I to have never fished them much, but I've been a couple times with a friend that throws them almost all day. Here's one he caught last week while fishing with me. He out caught me in numbers a little bit with it to, he was using a 3 inch grub on an 1/8 oz head I believe. Pretty much pumpkin coler with some black flake. The grubs come from a local company in Thayer Mo called Jennybugs bait Co. that color was called "Riverbilly". He basically was just throwing it and steady retrieving it back, we even flipped them into some summerged wood under the boat and caught some, very versatile bait i'm going to start using more myself..
  16. Wow, what a Dandy CWC!! It's been a week since I've been, and it's killing me AL!
  17. Open face..that's what my grandpa used to call them. I"ve used some 6 pound low vis green with pretty good results, but i'm going try some 4 pound this year, it will cast alittle better to.. Ditto on the zig jigs, they are something on those trout!
  18. Update...used my curado on a few all day fishing trips to the river in the past couple weeks, still love it, very smooth operation!
  19. Thanks guys....tried it all to no avail, so called moteerguide, and there's a place in Jonesboro that repairs them, so taking it there shortly. Thanks again for your help!
  20. I have a remote control moterguide 55thrust trolling moter on my River Jon that wouldn't work today. when you hook to the battery, it either beeps all the time, or the moter comes on, but can't be shut off, other times it is just dead. Every time however when you hook to the batter, it always arcs then you hook it up. I'm thinking theres a short somewhere internally.. Question is, has anybody had this happen, and where to you get something like this fixed, if even possible?
  21. Sweet fish as well! I saw a few hitting top this morning, but didn't tie on a topwater, wish I had of..
