  1. Got caught up enough to sneak off to the River again today. Another pretty good day, and my buddy caught this 19 inch pig on a 3 inch grub. I wish we had scales, unlike my 18.5 last Saturday, this thing had girth!
  2. Wow, great catches there man, congrats!! I could tell you farmed by the hat!!
  3. Talked to Phil and he was all for posting this, so thought i'd share this link. I have a friend that produces a local outdoor show in Malden MO, after seeing some of my facebook and youtube stuff, he talked me into helping out with the show some. It's a blast, I've really enjoyed it so far. I talked to Ham and Richard about fishing with me last winter, and they happy to do it. We had a great day, this was my first shoot for the show on my own, I've learned a lot since this, and have a better camera setup, but they liked it, and aired it already on Dish.. Anyhow, we use and discuss jig fishing for trout with the zig jig. If you don't wanna watch the whole 30 minutes, be sure to watch the last 7 minutes or so, best part... I wanna thank you Ham and Richard again for doing this with me that day, and Ham for running my boat, it allowed me to do a better job filming and fishing, great guys I know call friends!!
  4. It was pretty crazy at Doniphan Saturday on the Current, it's that time of year I guess, don't mean we have to like it tho...lol
  5. I had my camera going some Saturday and here's a taste of what i'm talking about...lol
  6. Yeah, I might of hammed it up a little bit to.... Hopefully not many saw that, I'll be going back there... Something I forgot to mention, as most of you that know me probably know this, but both of these fished were released. It's not as big a deal as Scott and Seth releasing there monsters, many folks might hang those on a wall, kudo's to you guys letting those go!
  7. This isn't even half of the parking lot, and it was just like this, luckily, we got there about 1pm, and they were all put in mostly... Caught that 17.5 in front of a group swimming, I had an audience for that one....lol
  8. I could only imagine in a canoe. It was the hottest day of the year and a Saturday, and they were out. My Supreme was like a poodle in a pen full of pit bulls, but it did fine. Several jet skis at least going 50 to 60 mph...crazy.. I"ll be sticking to my usual spot on if I go a weekend again, but there's some good water up there..
  9. Some Thanks Man.. It's Little Slower Time Of Year, Esp When WeGet SOme Rain...Only 45 Min From Home Is Nice, I Plan To Go Some In The Evenings
  10. Mitch, it did have a great color. Caught several fish close to the boat. I figure with all the rain, the springs are still pumping that green water. plus some rains Wed probably have a leftover stain..
  11. Great day on the river today, of course to me there's no such thing as a bad one. Started early this morning fishing with a friend of mine, catching some pretty good fish at a decent clip. I decided to move up river to a place i'd lost a pig a few weeks ago. Probably not the same fish, but in about the same spot, I hung the first fish in the pics, measured 18.5, and what a fight it put up. My buddy caught a fish just right after as I just made the comment the fishing is fixing to heat up. Then all of a sudden my trolling moter went silent, somehow my prop had come off, as well as the roll pin. We tried to fish just drifting and using the outboard, but that proved to be frustrating. So we loaded up and went up to Fred at Current River Marine, although he only had Minn Kota parts, they managed to find me a moterguide prop out in the bone yard, so we headed to Doniphan after we got fixed up, as I've never put in there....Wow!! It was crazy busy, literally 70 or 80 boat trailers parked.. Anyhow we put in and somehow in all the madness managed to catch a few smallies. Caught the one in the second pic after about an hour on the water, it measured 17.5, but it may have out weighed the first one, it was a chunk, and had a 4 inch shad in it's gullet already, she was hungry! Great day, ready to go back!!
  12. Wow, great fish Seth.. Looks like a sweet boat to!!
  13. On My Curado G, The Line Guide Getd Caught And Does This...Any Suggestions Before I Tear Into It, Never Had This Happen

  15. Loving My New Curado. Anybody Tried One Yet, An Improvmemt Over The G Series IMO
  16. Rick, didn't know you went to a Ram, I knew you said you were looking when we did the fishing trip, glad you like it. Ram or Dodge will always be judged by some folks for there trucks of the 70's, but it's a different ballgame now with them.. I to have been awaiting this ecodiesel truck, so see how it does. It will depend on what you use it for if it will be helpful over the gas. I farm out of my trucks, and use them a lot on gravel roads, a lot of starting and stopping. My hemi will also get 20 on hwy and trips, but driving from field to field during irrigation, hauling etc, mileage is not very good. This is where I think the little 3 liter diesel might shine, if I could get around 20mpg doing all of this, it would be cost effective for me. Saw the first one on the road while I was at Hardy a couple weeks go, talked to the owner and he loved his. Got 28 mpg driving to Indiana at 75 mph, pretty impressive I thought! He said a Hemi would win a drag race, but pulling a trailer it actually outperformed his old truck.. Can't beat the tourqe of a diesel...
  17. Wow, that's huge.. Love to see that pic If you can..
  18. That was awesome Scott!!
  19. Ok, thanks Wrench, was counting on your response... I'm not sure of the pitch, but figure it's somewhere around that. I'll take a picture today when I'm down there. It's got the transom for the longer shaft moters, I've known guys to put those adjustable jack plates on there.
  20. Got to try the Gasconade sometime! I'm thinking of trying a tournament on the Current river, never done one, but sounds fun!
  21. I've got a War Eagle boat (1754 Shadow). It comes to a point in the front like V Bottom, but the floor is similar to a standard war eagle. However it has a slight V in the back of the boat as well. It's a great Delta River boat, as it corners on a dime. I'm been throwing the idea around of putting a Jet on it, like a true 40 or 50 to fish in Current River, I"ve heard you need that flat bottom in the back for a jet to work properly, anybody had experience with this? I'd love to have a blazer boat, but if I could put a jet on my old War Eagle, be a whole lot less expensive, and I like the layout of my old boat. Thanks Bret. I"ll try to get a pic of the back of it..
  22. yeah, been nice if it had been weighed.. I"d be willing to bet on it being closer to 5 pounds!
