This is a show I filmed and edited for a local Outdoors show I work with. Fished with my father in law on the little red back in may. Started out playing with a new camera setup i'd bought, but turned out to make a show out of it anyways. Yes, the lower current is a bottom land delta river, it's starts to transform into an Ozark river at the mouth of Little Black, and the futher up river, the more rock, and clearer the water.

As far as the Current river goes, I talked to a friend last night, he says there in Gas Plant lake which is an oxbow off current river near Reyno AR. From Doniphan, that probably like 20 to 25 miles downriver. He says it's full of them

I thought so to, love those sections we fished, the fishing and the scenery with the bluffs and snow was breathtaking to an ole boy that lives in the Delta.

These things jump in the boat at will in the backwaters of the Mississippi. I've had it happen near Caruthersville. If they ever got that bad on the current, not only would the fishing ecosystem suffer, but a jet boat ride could get a lot more dangerous.

Yeah I see what your saying, the shortage of daylight that time of year plays a factor to. If the roads aren't slick like they were in spots last year we probably will get around a little faster to. That was such a great experience having the river to ourselves tho, I didn't wanna leave when we did..

That would be great Rick, look forward to meeting him! I'd also like to ask and get your thoughts on this, but as those of you know me, that I like to film. I've expanded a little bit and am helping a friend of mine that produces a local outdoor show. Would any anybody oppose of my taking some footage of our trip and maybe making a show out of it, might be good publicity for the website as well? I know some don't like to be on TV, so if a problem, no problem here. I'm here for fishing and fellowship, but think this could really be a neat show to share. Just thought i'd throw out there, got a few months to prepare and plan. Here's a couple shows I've helped with if your curious, the first show there Ham fished with me, he was great! It's a hobby for me basically, it's something I enjoy and relieves stress of my everyday job. I can bring a boat to if needed, when we get the final head count we can plan on that. I don't see why not, you see dozens on them on Current river all summer on the Blazers. They sure do help when it's hot..

Ha ha, I hear ya man... If I mentioned that to my wife, she'd die laughing...lol.. I can get her in the boat in the summer from time to time, but that's about it..

Oh wow, I heard that.. Congrats Andy on the newborn! I've been there, mine are 15 and 6 now, youngest in kindergarten, I am slowing getting to fish more now... I'm so excited to for the day I can start taking my boy on these trips, then it will get a lot easier to go fishing...

Agreed, my trip Friday might would qualify for a sucky trip, but in fact, there's no such thing for me. River to myself, by myself for a few hours, fishing and quiet time was nice. Big ones be there next time!!

Gonna try to stock up on my flathead catfish supply in the next couple weeks, i'll bring the fish cooker again!

Awesome fish!! I fish there a lot to, I think I recognize that house in the background, I fish there from time to time. I fished Friday and didn't have much luck at all, I bet today would of been a good one! Congrats....
