  1. Hopefully whoever found it will bring it by the Dam Store. We will holler if we hear anything. Jim
  2. All fish will swim all the way to a dam if spawning. I have caught about any fresh water fish near the dam. Table Rock is full and we are backed up with not much moving water again. Bass boats are comming back up river again. Greatv time to rent a kayak or canoe to get to the wadeable water. Jim PS. I looked yesterday in Spider Creek and saw suckers spawning but no whites.
  3. A bit of sunshine and they will be back. Jim
  4. The north most cove right at the dam. intersection of dam site road and 187. jim
  5. Took my lunch break at spider creek today. The whites and walleyes are still there. Water is up and a little murky. Great stuff. Jim
  6. Fished monday afternoon and did well using grey over white clouser on a 6wt with 7lb tippett. Fished till about 4 then went home for dinner and a break. Back out at about 7:30 till about 9. Did very well catching only 1 19" walleye and about 30 whites, mostly males in the 1lb range. Back again Wednesday about noon. On the river I was catching a few small males and a few slightly larger females. Ralf Conrad joined me later and we went to White Bass Cove near the dam. Wind was blasting straight into our faces at 20-25mph gusts. 30' casts was about all we could get with the 6wt and a #2 clouser. Almost all the whites we caught in the lake were 2-3lb. Great way to spend a couple of days. Jim
  7. Your 6wt will work very well. From now thru summer 1 tip is try to cast with the shore instead of straight out to deeper water. This will keep your fly in front of more fish this way. If needed wade into the water a little and walk the shore. Most any top water fly ( mudler minnow, hopper, or others) in different sizes will work. A clouser minnow, wooly bugger, and a soft hackle will a get fishs attention. The larger the fly the heaver the leader needs to be. For most "bass" flies a 7-9' 4x leader. I like to use flourocarbon tippett. I generally like a 8-12lb test. Good luck and come back with a fish story. Jim
  8. Zebra Midge Pheasant tail Scud Prince Nymph Wollie Bugger
  9. Looks like I am too late for your trip. We do have a couple of those rods at the store. They are 8'5/6wt. Jim The Beaver Dam Store.
  10. I have been kayak fishing the HI and Beaver town area quite a bit. I am catching several bass but no walleye yet. I saw a couple guys last week caught a couple small in the timber. Jim
  11. I have landed 4.5' spoonbill I didn't mean to snag. I also landed a 16' striper all with a 6 weight. Also works great for trout. Besides you said it was a good deal so we don't have to justify it to ourself. :-) Jim
  12. The barbless rule has changed. Now it is a "single pointed " non treble hook for bait. You may use barbed single point hook for bait it is optional not required. I found walleye near holliday island last week. Jim
  13. Good day all around. Jim

  15. The Beaver Dam Store. I just work here. Jim
  16. I spent the whole week with a spining rod in my hand. Didn't even take a fly rod this time. I took out a family tuesday and caught over 25 trout fish. They were bait fishing with the Gulp mostly below Spider Creek Island. Lisa brought 5 walleyes in this last week the largest being 11 lb. My wife caught a 21" walleye yesterday. We are catching the walleyes from 62 bridge to Beaver Town using Flicker Shad and Rattle Trap crank baits. Stop by the store and say howdy. Jim
  17. Howdy I'm Jim. I was raised in Seligman Mo. and have fished as long as I remember.I remember the Beaver Dam being built. Grandpa would come down from time to time for fishing and we would check out the project. I don't remember much about the fishing but I do remember the big equipment running around. I worked at the Beaver Dam store about 4 years when Charlotte owned the store. I got custody of my son and moved to Tulsa for a few years. I got him raised and moved back to Seligman 2 years ago. I was fishing the tailwaters and was offered a job at the Beaver Dam Store again. :-) Thats my update and introduction. Hope to see yall on the water. Jim
