  1. Welcome to OAF! I think you will enjoy it here.
  2. Interesting information from the past when the lake was new. It appears that it held a lot of really big Bass back then. I hope it gives up at least one for me in my lifetime.
  3. Franks, Call Mike at Top Gun Marine in Nixa, Mo. 417-725-1887 he should be able to fix you up and get you going. He does a lot of work on the older stuff and it a top notch marine mechanic as well as a good guy.
  4. I was in that Class at BPS today. I am going out on Wednesday I think to play around with what I think I learned. Had some great speakers Like Mike Webb, Dave Barker and several others from the BPS Tracker Pro Teams.
  5. Here is my 2006 Cobra 201D with Merc. 225 ProXS.
  6. I am going to get out this next week! The classes at BPS have been very informative and looking forward to another session tomorrow. If you see a Black and Red Cobra that will be me.
  7. Just heard it todya from Six Pro Anglers and Guides on area Lakes. They love being out when it snows as the Bass they say go nuts.
  8. Welcome Jason! You can try a 1/2 Jig with a minnow and then tie another 1/8 oz Jig with about 18" of line onto the eye of the 1/2oz put a minnow on that and work the River channels up the river arm toward the dams or they will also spawn or attempt to along the rip rap face of the on the sides of the dams. Try working very slow bouncing the big jig along the bottom.
  9. That looks to be a peaceful river to float. What a beautiful picture thanks for sharing it with us.
  10. Now you have me wanting to get out. I have some Fishing the Ozarks classes this weekend and hopefully I will learn something from them and get out next week. This going from Waders to Bass Boat is a big step for me. I am trying to teach and old dog new tricks. Great reports and thanks for the information on what is happening on Table Rock Lake.
  11. Having experienced the Zebra Mussels that invaded the Great Lakes in that incidence they were a blessing for the fishery as they cleaned the water up and increased the weedbeds which provided cover for the Bass. The Smallmouth Bass Fishery in Lake Michigan waters around Chicago owe themselves to the Zebra Mussel. However, for the water intakes and everything that they attach themselves to it has been a real disaster. I hate to see them move into TR because it doesn't need the water any clearer nor does it need to have the power generation plants at the dams along the White River over run with them and the intakes clogged.
  12. I don't think he has one with the front flap and eye cutout Terry.
  13. Bill I have a Slide Scanner and would be happy to scan slides for you and put them on a CD so you could put them on the website. I live in Nixa which isn't that far away. I have purchased items off the internet at a couple of he photo houses and it has been a pleasant experience. If you want to use slide film and have me scan them for you let me know. I bought the scanner after finding out what places wanted to scan some slides for me.
  14. You can tow anything with anything but doing the job safely for you and the people around you should be important also. I saw a guy towing an 18' Trailer with a Pinto. He struggled but he towed it or it pushed him one or the other. I would go to a V6 Model Ranger with a Tow Package. You will get the extra power or the bigger engine, extra cooling for the trans. and a hitch already set up and wired. Trailer brakes are a must for towing as they really improve your stopping power. If you get a boat with any weight at all you will be glad you got the brakes on the trailer. There is a difference between just be able to tow something and towing with confidence that you are in control.
  15. Happy Birthday to both you Birthday Boys!
  16. Middle James River still has Lower James River as a PDF File.
  17. Dewayne, When you filet them start by cutting behind the head, then run the knife along the dorsal fin to the tail and work your way down the sides peeling the meat away from the rib bones. Do the same on the other side and you will end up with two very nice boneless filets. It has been a long time since I have done it but it works pretty good. You don't even have to gut them since you just cut that part away. Try it and see how it is for you or your father.
  18. Welcome Creek Wader! You should find some great information and freindly people here. Before I moved here to Missouri I waded the Rivers and Streams of Illinois for Smallmouths. It was a fun way to catch lots of Bronzebacks.
  19. Welcome back Go Fish. Can't understand why you left. Go get you some Walleye's.
  20. Welcome John. I have heard of some great Walleye catches on the White River below Bull Shoals Dam but further down river. Must be some that get washed thru the turbins.
  21. Welcome back to Missouri and welcome to OAF! You will find tons of good information and many friends here on OAF.
  22. I live up in Nixa and we have a lot of new construction in this area for sale. I don't think you will find anything that doesn't need a ton of work for $75,000.00 but if you want a Three bedroom Ranch with a two car garage new you can find it here for about $130,000.00. I don't know any of the builders from the Branson area so can't help you Jimmy. You could come up this way and see if any are willing to build for you down that way. Nixa is a great little community with good schools, shopping, some restaurants and is quiet.
  23. Welcome to the Ozarks and OAF Jimmy. I think you will love the area and this site will provide you with some good friends to share the fishing with. I hope the weather gets a little better here soon I am getting cold.
  24. Congratulations on the New Grandson. I am glad everything turned out okay. You can't help but love them little babies.
