  1. While I don't doubt that, I gotta mention that we saw some live craws in the river last weekend that were as heavy on the orange hues as the chunks in that pic.
  2. ☝️ There isn't a better jig available ☝️ 100% guarantee it.
  3. Who said anything about working on your equipment ? This whole pissing match is about claiming that something has been done.... that clearly hasn't been done. Not to anybody's satisfaction anyway. I can catch Stripers when there are Stripers to be caught. I catch some here, quite a few actually, I've posted pics. But they didn't get to my neighborhood from Wigwam or Roach. That's all I've been saying. If they have been working towards maintaining a striper fishery on LO for over 25 years then it's time to piss on the fire and call the dogs because they are failing miserably. My claims that they are not actually gives them more credit.
  4. Now, if you're claiming that the work was insufficient, or not nearly as described/claimed.....then you MAY have a point. 😉 Headed to the river, y'all have a good wknd. 👍
  5. Are you kidding? Multiples! What a stupid question! 🙄
  6. Saying that I don't believe something because it makes no sense and everything keeps proving itself differently is just skepticism. Like I told Mopanfisher, I don't disbelieve things I hear or read unless what I am hearing and reading just doesn't add up. At that point I take what I know to be facts and fill in the gaps with what makes the most sense. If what you and Sius' are saying is true then LO would be a better quality (or at least equal) Striper fishery than Bull Shoals, Norfork, ect., and that clearly isn't so. At the rate of activity y'all are claiming that MDC is devoting to the LO Stripers, is it stupid to wonder why they don't even mention Stripers when speaking about or "studying" the LO fishery ? They openly crow about everything else they do, no matter how lacidasical, so why the lack of mention when it comes to THAT ? As far as I'm concerned....Catch rates and common sense tell a more accurate story. Example: I have some notes here that say I did a considerable amount of work for you over the last couple years. SO WHEN ARE YOU GONNA PAY ME ? 🤔 And don't try to claim that you never noticed the work that had been done. Cuz we ain't putting up with that kind of ignorance. 😊
  7. They are filter feeders, so I would expect them to not be around for too long, and to not reproduce like crazy in streams that are clear most of the time.
  8. They are 12" the first year. 5 1/2 lb. at 3 years. 35 lbs at around 14 years (assuming it is a female). Males supposedly don't get to 40#. (Someone with a certificate said that) And I have no reason not to believe it, unlike some of the other FACTS being argued over. 😊
  9. That would be about right. Now we know....the rest....of.....the story. 😅
  10. BS! Nobody else here ever knew a guy named Knute. That makes me the clear winner in this debate. 💪😊 And if you think I'm capable of inventing a story like that....then I still win for being outlandishly creative. Now, get your gear loaded up and bring your rear-end to Hidden Valley this weekend and help me drink all this beer and Whiskey ! Your campsite has already been paid for.
  11. Well hey...he asked where my info came from. Nothing more solid than a dump truck driver named "Knute" IMO. 🤣
  12. Go ahead and fact check it. My info came from Guido Hibdon, Virgil Conner, and a guy named Knute Paulsen (who was one of several dump truck drivers paid to haul away loads of dead fish before they started stinking up the whole town). Ask your favorite MDC employee if they know of ANY walleye stocking prior to that court order. The correct answer is No. I would almost bet that the ACE is who we need to thank for the very existence of Lost Valley hatchery. When was Lost Valley hatchery constructed ?
  13. Since these stockings allegedly only happen once every 5 years then they are 4-5 year old stripers. But then you gotta assume that they didn't mind feeding and caring for them for 5 years before getting rid of them....which, when you consider that it's all for naught, doesn't make good business sense does it? Or....they only spawn stripers for brood stock every 4-5 years, and dump the number of fingerlings that are over abundant. Which makes better sense, but shouldn't have a number like 150k attached to the claim. 150k fingerlings would fit in a single truckload. 150k Stripers that are half grown would definitely not.
  14. So why even bother, or claim to bother?
  15. I said actively stocked. They have to have some stripers in order to produce hybrids, and that is obviously the only reason they have for housing stripers at all. The claims of them miraculously having 150k to stock, but only once every 5 years, just really doesn't make any sense when you think about it. Does it make sense to you?
  16. A 3 pounder will get you a check, unless they've changed the rules.
  17. Just for clarity, my position is that they don't stock enough to matter, and haven't since the 80's. I clearly said that they obviously have dumped SOME brood stock in here..... otherwise there wouldn't be ANY. But the 12-18 inchers that get caught on the lower end didn't haulass immediately there from Wigwam or Gale. 150,000 ? Get outta here! They might be funded for that amount but I'd seriously challenge the guy doing the counting. Why intentionally stock both Stripers AND hybrids? And then not even mention STRIPERS as a species to be sought after? See, it just screams BS.
  18. Thank you! 😊 Figured it out on my own AFTER reading all I could find on those topics, and speaking to folks that pretend to know. Now, since you have the confidence that there are plenty to be caught, come on down to Lake O and see if you can catch you some ! It's almost time! Next time you and Ol'Greg are having a convo, toss him a Bailey's and ask him why they never mention Stripers in fish survey reports on LO.
  19. Stocked and nearly ready to roll. I'll be driving stakes after lunch tomorrow. 💪😃👍
  20. Ok, you win. 😊
  21. They are reproducing naturally. When conditions are right they CAN pull it off on this lake. This (2019) would have most likely been a year when they could have because of the constant heavy flow. Asian carp could have had a successful spawn this year as well. There are some of them in this lake too.....are you claiming that MDC put them in here? Surely not.
  22. No, because it's a fallacious argument. I couldn't care less what his notes, or the MDC reports say.
  23. My point there was that I don't spout off about things that I don't know much about. And I don't assume that I know much about it just because I listened to someone (with a certificate) talk about it. I've spent time in a boat with Greg Stoner, we personally know each other, and I don't think he's the type of guy that would tell a flat out lie. But that doesn't change my position on the striper stocking theory. If YOU want to believe that they actively stock 150,000 every 5 years by all means go right ahead. I prefer to only personally BELIEVE as many TRUE things as possible. Here's another truth bite for ya.....The MDC doesn't stock Walleye because "the construction of Truman blocked a spawning migration". They actively stock them because back in the '70's the ACE did a back pump during March and slaughtered literal tons of walleye.....and had to pay for it. The MDC stocks walleye because they've been paid to do it via court order. There was no Walleye stocking BEFORE that court order. The claim that we are arguing because you feel the need to keep me from "dumbing down the forum" is absolutely rediculous. I'm not the one quoting fairy tales here, bro. 😏
  24. Any word on the number of entries so far ? Although I doubt that it's true, I get the impression that numbers are down somewhat. Still plenty of Vacancies at the lodging facilities.
  25. I'm not one of you guys that considers what I am told as an education. I didn't learn what I know about outboard motors from the instructors at MMI, and I challenge you to find someone that will claim (even in private conversation) that I suck at it. 😊 I'll be the first one to admit that all these certificates don't mean jack !
