  1. Are you trying to tell me that the "employees" of Circle J didn't know they were getting paid under the table ? Hell I seriously doubt that any of them even submitted an application when they started (meaning that they also never even wrote down their SSN). First name and cell phone number was prolly all the info Circle J had on any of their hired hands. Take a lesson from a small town boy just this one time. The IRS will be expecting 1099's from those folks NOW.....Assuming that they even earned enough to justify filing.
  2. If all the local boys are just out there slinging deep crankbaits then it's a crapshoot. Is that the best bite going on TR right now ?
  3. 50% of 20% of minimum wage isn't gonna add up to much SS/MEDICARE credit. LOL And it darn sure isn't gonna build a house.
  4. He's not lying, I've seen him stand there fishless for hours....just smiling like a retard on pudding day.
  5. Is it an isolator, or a combiner? Isolators and combiners are generally installed to do the same thing but how they work is different. An isolator has an input post to take a charge current and two output posts so the charge gets distributed to two banks. The isolator uses diodes that act like one way valves to allow current to flow to the batteries but the batteries cannot backfeed to each other which prevents both going dead if one is being used while no charge current is present. The negative on isolators is the diode consumes almost a volt of the charge so batteries don't get topped up fully when being charged and that can cause the voltage regulator on an outboard to overheat. Combiners are really just a voltage sensitive relay hooked between two batteries that allows the full charge to flow through. Unless you make long runs (15-20 miles at a time) you aren't putting enough charge on that deep cycle battery to make much of a difference, therefore you could eliminate the combiner. And I would DEFINATLY eliminate it if it is an isolator.
  6. No such thing as a "straggler" White bass. If you found one then you've found a mess of them. Sometimes catching them is a different story.
  7. Yeah, Dog forbid there be a place where fish could hide and aquatic bugs could thrive.
  8. The linkage sync is good now? Before you go any further you probably should verify that compression is good (all cylinders within 15% of each other based on a 8 second crank cycle). Then verify that you have strong and consistent ignition output (spark) on all secondary leads. Then you can move your attention deeper into the fuel system.
  9. White bass are ones that are really said to "frenzy feed" in the Fall, but the truth is that white bass frenzy feed all year long. They just do it where they are easier for anglers to get to during the Fall.
  10. Like Ham, I don't enjoy an uptick of bites on rivers/streams in the Fall but I certainly do on impoundments. I assume that a good portion of that is because deep structure fishing is definitely not one of my strengths. More active fish in the shallows equals more bites for ol'wrench, but that doesn't mean that the fish are more active as a whole. They are just more actively feeding in the areas where I am better at finding and catching them. It is probably the same with rivers. In Summer you're likely to catch fish all along a 6 mile stretch, whereas most days in the Fall/Winter there will only be a few good zones on that same stretch of river. And if fish are concentrated then they'll get nervous and wary after a few of their brothers have been caught. A lot of times when you catch one several others will follow it to within sight of you...Now they "know" something just ain't right and it will take awhile for them to let their guard down again. That's why LO dock fishermen seldom catch more than one good bass from a dock on the same pass. You don't have to worry about that on rivers in the Summer because for the most part the fish are more spread out.
  11. Why? Get that crap started and you will be unnecessarily punishing ALOT of fishermen. How do you feel about canoes, mopeds, and bicycles? How about some liability coverage for those rifles and shotguns? Baseballs and Frisbees too? (They've been known to dent cars, break noses and very expensive windows). Please, let's not.
  12. It is hard for one man to say what might be comfortable and will work for another mans butt. You might consider stopping by a marine upholstery shop and having a quality seat altered to better suit you.
  13. Yep, that was my initial point. Minimal coverage is basically a waste of money and insufficient in most cases when it comes to bassboat use.
  14. Anybody from here been on it lately?
  15. That is exactly what folks here at the lake say about Osage Beach.... "They come here on vacation to get away from the city, then decide to move here and bring the city with them".
  16. I'm more of a Makers and Marlboro kinda guy. But occasionally a tall glass of iced tea and some Columbian shake compliment a good meal.
  17. Well I hate to be the one to scare you off the lakes but I deal with boats and boaters every single day of my life and my take is that unless the boat is still financed or the owner is guiding or fishing a circuit that requires showing proof then they are carrying a minimum of insurance coverage, if any at all. How'bout you, Brandon ?
  18. Bet that cuts the turnout down considerably. Too bad.
  19. 7.89# That is a TOAD for a Fall bass. This lake continues to amaze me.
  20. Britts, That is the part that blows me away. Where are all the folks that approve of all the changes they have made ? Where can you find someone who "likes it" ? Because every single person I know wishes they would stop, or better yet REMOVE what has been added. Who are they pleasing with all that crap ?
  21. I have a 5 y/o that is a real Pro at interrupting breeding. No degree in biology or anything yet so it shouldn't take much of an education.
  22. Fins, It isn't like he is turning this in to MDC or DNR, he's just doing it as an excersise. And I assume the invasive's thing was aimed mostly in the didymo direction. Ease up, Professor.
  23. 6.79 leading. I heard that they are having a hard time keeping her from wanting to go belly up. Weighed in "alive" though so it shouldn't get dis-Q'ed.
