  1. My dad once had a pistol taken from him at the Canadian border (they wouldn't let him cross with it). He tried like hell but never got it back.
  2. Here's the thing though.... In the case of this kid nobody saw a knife. His partner thought the dude just punched him in the chest, right ? Even if the victim was armed, at no time before he was stabbed was he justified BY LAW to shoot anyone. A man with one hand behind his back can't just be shot, regardless of how mean he looks. You can say "if the kid had a gun he'd still be alive" all you want. Yeah he might still be alive.....but he might wish he was dead after the "system" gets done with him.
  3. Seems to me that if you are determined unable to buy one then you are also determined ineligible to own one. Gun laws are a mess. I know we have several LEO's on here, yet none are chiming in. I suspect that even they do not know. The laws seem to be written so that the interpretation can be flexed to meet different agenda's.
  4. Well yeah. I mean, I don't wanna slam anybody's product but I know outboard charging systems as well as anybody I think, and I can't imagine any way to pull off what they claim without overheating the stator/voltage reg. Tell ya what, forget what I say and call your engine manufacturer, tell them you have a new outboard and ask if installing such a unit will effect your warranty at all. Let us know what they say.
  5. Too much typing involved for me now, but I have explained it on here previously (don't remember which thread it was in). Honestly though, a single battery that will not recharge in a fairly short time will result in a overheated outboard charging circuit. Adding 2 more LOW batteries (parallel) into the circuit is just begging for it. Even if the charging system was beefed up to handle it (which isn't possible using OEM parts) charging any battery at 40amps for any sufficient length of time BOILS the battery. And a boiing battery puts off alot of caustic/flammable gas. Do you really want to be bouncing down the lake boiling 2-3 batteries at the same time ? I don't.
  6. Oh boy, here we go again Not gonna argue it but just so you can't say you were never warned..... Using your outboard charging system to "help maintain" your TM batteries is a bad idea. Outboard stators and voltage regulators are designed to maintain the cranking battery ONLY, and an overheated VR will cost you a hell of a lot more than a pair of batteries will. But by all means do as you wish, after all us outboard techs have bills to pay too.
  7. I dunno. It may be possible that you won't pass a background check if you just killed someone a week ago. Either way, knowing this I sure wouldn't carry my favorite (expensive) sidearm for protection.
  8. There has always been bad guys out there, it is just that now we have internet so even a bad thing happening in Louisiana/Colorado/California seems TOO CLOSE TO HOME. But speaking of CCW I just learned that if you ever use your carry "weapon" to defend yourself that you lose it pretty much forever (at least 7 years, but usually much longer). And that you won't be able to go out and buy a new one right away. Is that true ?
  9. That complicates the hell out of war.
  10. Two hits and I'm lost in my own house ! A whole joint of the old brown Colombian never did that to me.
  11. My share of the trial ? I've prepaid.
  12. OK, but can we have a trial first ? Not everything is as it seems/sounds. Let's be 100% sure before sentencing.
  13. That is so sad. Hearing stuff like that really bums me out.
  14. I used to be all for legalizing weed.... until I smoked some of the stuff my daughter came across. NO....we don't need to be legalizing that $#it. Might as well legalize LSD while we're at it. Weed isn't weed anymore.
  15. Upper end of the Gravi is still not clearing much. I have a feeling that this heavy brown stain is gonna be with us for awhile.
  16. Yes sir, that's it. Darn good rods for the money.
  17. Some poor ramp etiquette and someone with a short fuse ?
  18. I wish they'd quit stocking those things here !
  19. So.....Print up some darn money and give it to them. Problem solved. No really, I truly am so stupid that I don't know why we can't do that. Please don't say that our money has to be backed in gold. That's a crock of $#it. Enough paper currency has been lost/destroyed over time that there is no way to verify if every 100 dollar bill in circulation is backed in gold. They can make all the money they want, the federal reserve is among the crookedest faux establishments in existence, so who cares? Or.....here ya go.....give them those big piles of drug money that is supposedly being held as evidence.
  20. Rand Paul = Al Agnew Huckabee = Flysmallie Jeb Bush = Phil Lilley
  21. I can't help it. Everytime I see him I think of you.
  22. Does Ted Cruz remind anyone else of Jason (jdoc) or is it just me?
  23. Yep !
  24. We hear what we want? That's probably true. I'm not sure I hear Trump saying exactly how he plans to get us better deals, ect. But I think I understand how he will. And I have a lot of faith in his ability to pull it off. He has played the media like a fiddle, creating just the right amount of controversy to keep himself in the center of every discussion. Friggin' brilliant! His home is nicer than the Whitehouse, and he makes more money doing what he does already than he will as president. He has nothing to gain by being president except to do some great things and leave a legacy of himself that his kids and grandkids will be proud of. IMO that is what he is in it for, and we can all benefit from that IF it works out. The man might talk like a crass jackoff compared to the status quo bullshitters that we are all used to listening to, but when he enters into a deal his track record of coming out on top is darn good. And considering the current state that this country is in I think we need someone that is a business psychologist and not afraid to play his strengths. He obviously knows how to size people up and persuade them to play fairly. I think it would be a very interesting thing to watch happen. I hope he gets a chance.
  25. Yeah I can't help but think that Trump is in it to really make a difference. He isn't gonna do anything too stupid because he does love his children and grand children. Singlehandedly he probably couldn't accomplish anything, but you don't get to where he is without being very good at negotiating and choosing the right people for their perspective jobs. He will likely take some calculated gambles and things might get scary for a bit, but I'd bet the end game would be a win. I think if given the chance he would make some very noticable improvements. Bernie has been crowing the same crap since the 1980's, he's incapable of doing anything other than stating that he recognizes what the problem is and repeating over and over the way things SHOULD BE.
