What vise do you use? Let us all know what vise you use and how you like it! I personally tie on a cheap $15 special from Bass Pro, it's actually not a bad vise for the price. I am getting a Peak Rotary Pedestal with my tax return and can't wait!
I found a kayak I like, and the price is right. Might get a pontoon at some point, but it was either a yak or a toon, the only competition was the price, and the yak won!
Kayak it is, found one cheap that I can store easily and make some modifications to. Someone actually already has in on this forum and posted a thread with all the mods, it's at walmart.com for a little over 200 bucks, I can probably do everything I want on it for less than 300 bucks. That leaves me with enough money left over for a new fly tying vise I DESPERATELY need!
Well after thinking i was going the pontoon route...I found the Ascend FS12T Kayak...it's a bit out of my price range right now...but I think it would be worth it 499 really isn't that bad.
I've tied a ton of these recently. I tie them with different tails, some with marabou, some bucktail, and spread neck hackle (frog legs). I also have a tone of smaller ones, the bluegill love these suckers!
I'm not going to be able to spend more than 350 dollars. I'm still leaning toward the pontoon, I live in a small apt, and have no clue where I'd put a yak.
I'm looking at the trout unlimited colorado pontoon, I also found an ocean kayak big yak pretty cheap. Still going to look around for awhile, I need a new rotary vise far worse than a pontoon or kayak right now.
Title says it all. I can't decide. I would mainly be floating the James River, with the occasional lake outing. I think I'm leaning the pontoon route, edpecially when thinking about mounting a trolling motor later on.
