Well the last 2 days after this front moved through has been really tough for me. Have fished shallow and 45° banks from the mouths of coves to the back with very little luck. I have been fishing jigs, plastics and crankbaits.
Went out yesterday from 2:45 till 5:15 we caught around 10 bass with 5 keepers biggest was 3.5 lbs the rest were 13" to 2 lbs. Caught them all around Bolivar Landing on 7" worms and brush hogs in 2 - 8 fow close to wood. Water temp was 69.
Fishing was slow for me today also. Went out about 10:45 till 1:30 only caught 4 shorts and 3 keepers 1 keeper on brush hog everything else on square bill in 3-6 fow part way back in the coves. Water temperature everywhere I went was right at 71.6
I really struggled last week but did good in a small tournament Saturday. We culled several times only ended up with 12.39 pounds but was good enough for 1st. and a 4.33 for big bass.caught everything on green pumpkin worms in 5-12 fow.
Hey Terri if you guys are available during the week I would be be willing to take y'all out in the boat for awhile if you would want to do a little bass or crappie fishing.
Yep it's good stuff we were just there yesterday and I seen they had the Louisiana in the big jugs but I got the big bag of Andy's for a fish fry this Saturday night. I like the Andy's too so got it this time.
Thanks a million Fishinwrench I really appreciate all the help. Got 2 new boxes on their way hopefully we will have my friend back on the water by the end of the week.
Got the DVA today checked everything the way the pages you posted said to. Everything checked out good except the green primary wires coming out of the switch boxes they were all anywhere from 0 volts to 60 volts even with wires unhooked from the coils so it's looking like the switch boxes are bad.
Hey thanks that's pretty cool but I found one on eBay for $19 think I will just order it. When it gets here then I can run through all the tests and figure out what we have.
OK thanks I will see about getting a DVA and check it out. Figured I would have to come up with one since I wasn't getting any voltage out of the primary wires on the cylinders that were firing. I really appreciate all the help.
Thanks wrench stator ohms out according to that page voltage also is good on stator while cranking. #1 and 3 are only cylinders firing. Trigger ohms are in spec. and has 5 volts coming in on all trigger wires. But if you check them going to ground you have to put the positive to ground and groung lead on the wire at the switch box. But have no voltage at any of the green wires coming out of the switch box going to the coils.
We have a digital and swing arm multi meters. Yesterday we had 2 cylinders not firing then 1 started firing today have 3 not firing using timing light. I'm a diesel mechanic by trade but don't do a lot of outboard work any help would be appreciated Wrench thanks
Helping a friend with his motor some cylinders are firing some aren't sometimes they will fire then stop. He put a new stator on a year ago it is the black one. Have checked all the coils and wires and they are all good. Going to get a shop manual for it so we can check the stator and trigger. Just thought maybe someone had some ideas .
