  1. While sinking minnows around Truman dam I see them occasionally hanging out up there with the A-10's.
  2. I have literally seen thousands while scuba diving at the rock, along with Kentucky, Largemouth and so on ..They are all very inquisitive down under.
  3. I 2nd that! Has this area had much snow out of those two storm systems in the last week?
  4. In the past 20 years I have used unpainted heads and every color in the rainbow for the soft body and do relatively well in stained waters of LOZ and Truman , My last recent trip to the Rock has me wondering as I did not do so hot.
  5. Your cell phone's antenna will obviously play an important part in this picture, I have a call phone as does my wife as do my parents, and we all show different signal strength's. You may consider that before blaming the carrier.
  6. I am on my second deep v tracker, they both came from BPS in Springfield. The first was a 2002 pro guide 16 with a 60 hp Merc that I ran hard for 9 years, spent a lot of the time in Truman, LOZ, Table Rock ,zipping up and down the mighty “MO” and even in some local farm ponds.. This boat has had more fish caught in those 9 years and most people catch in a lifetime.. More than several occasions I have parked the 16 ft boat on the flats and fished in the deeper water with no worries to the welds at all. The latest is a pro guide 175 with a 115 Merc. It has a little more room for the fishing bud’s and will get me there just a tad faster without sucking the tank dry of the liquid gold. We took it on a 4 hour break in two weeks ago and it handled flawlessly. Last weekend the wife and I snagged on LOZ where she made her first Spoony snag that came in at 72 pounds, had several of them fancy boats applauding her on in our cheap tracker.. To me I just don’t see the worth spending double the money for basically the same boat.
  7. Good news. I picked up the boat a couple of weeks ago and all is well. With the 115 Merc, It will get up and get out of the hole with three of my fishing buddy's and gear and keep a decent pace going to my favorite fishing spots. My wife and I broke it in real good last weekend as my wife hooked her first Spoony tipping the scale at 72 pounds. after pulling the fish in and out of the boat a few times we had blood everywhere! ended up the trip on sunday with 7 crappie and beat tired, have to rest up to go at it again next weekend.
  8. I currently have a older Pro Guide v16 with a 60, and it is way under powered, with 3 people and gear it will barely just get up on a plane. I am sure the 115 will be a huge improvement. I need to keep the size around 16-18 but cant afford to break the bank. I agree it can be a pain to load depending on the ramp design. most of the time I will stop when the guide board's are about 2 ft in the water.
  9. I am interested in a Pro-guide v175 with a 115 Merc, Can anyone tell me how it performs loaded with fishing gear, live well's full and with a couple of persons on board? I am wondering if the 115 is enough for that size of a boat. I frequently visit Table Rock, Truman and Lake of the Ozarks chasing after paddlefish, stripers, crappie and bass Tom
