I am going hunting with my brother in a couple of weeks in Kansas for pheasant and chukar. Are chukar feathers useable for tying?

I fished yesterday from 1115 until 130. Landed 4 and lost about 6 I used my "wooly scud", strange thing about that fly, i never even got a bump on the one tyed on the scud hook, all my fish were on the 200R straight 2x hook. Here is the 1st fish I caught yesterday, it was a beautiful bow, very nice colors on him. On the 2nd photo you can see the fly in the corner of his mouth, sorry it isnt in focus!

at 1125 am according to the phone recording...ZERO units running.

Part of the firewood I took home with me. And for the hanky panky..Its been so long I have almost forgot what that is. I was sick with the flu while we were cutting the wood though and it just made me sicker. So I guess your theory may have actually worked since she slept in the other room for 3 nights because she didnt want to catch my cooties. Worked out good for me too....I got to watch the history channel in bed instead of Lifetime

according to my girlfriends father, we are supposed to have a storm that makes the one that hit springfield a couple of weeks ago, look like a light dusting. he has not only stocked up on food at the house, but since he a big wig at a major food company in the area, he is advising all his clients to stock up as well. he had me over to his house last weekend and we chopped so much firewood i thought my arm was going to fall off.

I dont know if anyone has tried tying something like this or not. A friend of mine told me of a guy using a rabbit scud. I tried tying with a rabbit stip and just couldnt get it to look anywhere near decent. Then i tried some marabou. Any suggestions to improve this would be greatly appreciated! My motto has always been "SHUT UP AND FISH" I usually have a CD I play on my way to the water, it is filled with everything from Bruce Springsteen, George Strait, AC/DC, etc. They are all songs I love and the last song playing when i shut the car off is what is stuck in my head for the rest of the day. So far "Blame it on Mexico" by George Strait is leading the pack for most sucessful songs for catching trout.

stimulator, humpy and elk hair caddis

He called me last night and wanted me to go slow stripping a grey mink with him...and stoopid me....i thought he was talking about going fishing!!

I fished yeaterday afternoon from about 330 until 515. I landed 4 and lost 6. one lost was a nice size bow. anyhow, i caught all of them on a #20 griffiths gnat above chute #1. there was a TON of bugs on the water yesterday. right around 5pm they stopped hitting the griffiths, wouldnt even rise to it. i am not sure if maybe it was too small as the light was fading pretty quick. i tied on a #16 adams real quick and had 2 rises but no takes. all in all....it beat the heck out of working the last couple of hours of the day! today we are taking an extended lunch and playing 9 holes at 1,000 hills.

last week and the week before, dries is what i caught the majority of my fish on. the very large majority. i was using everything from #20 BWOs to #12 elk hair caddis and stimulators. on the Elk hair and stims, i was using a #18 or #20 zebra midge dropper. i did catch some on them, but by far the dry strikes outnumbered the midges.

it was fine this past saturday when i went. you shouldnt have any problems at all.

I missed that post as well. I would like to make it down there. So that is a definite maybe on my part

Were you the guys that hooked and landed that big fish? i couldnt tell what it was from where i was, i know i saw it jump 2 times and thought to myself, "thats odd, i havent seen any flying footballs around here today" i did real well using an elk hair caddis out in the current with a #20 zebra midge dropper. i probably caught 30 fish, nothing over 18 (and that was my very 1st fish of the day) but it sure as hell beat working!

Another thing you may try is using GINK instead of a weight if there is no water running. to me, it seems a more natural drift and lessens the possibility of getting hung up on the bottom.

I love dry fly fishing!! Saturday and sunday the majority of fish I caught were on dries. Saturday once the wind picked up a little bit, i tied on a stimulator and caught a couple, lost the fly and my tippet to a hard strike and short run, never saw the fish! caught a few more on a humpy. sunday i was using griffiths, adams and something i did not know the name of, it was black with a touch of gray thrown in.

When and how much deposits due? Cancellation policy? My brother and I were in the talking stages of an Alaska trip for next yr.
