Thanks for the help guys, I do appreciate it. Yes I have been trying to look at these vises locally. Cabellas has some of the Renzetti line and some of the Griffin line and also Peak. K&k does not have much of anything and the two Bass Pro's up here are a joke. Have not found Dyna king up here anywhere. Rainbow Flyshop says they will create an account and get me a Dyna King if that is what I land on. Will keep looking, Rainbow sold me a $40 import rotary that will hold me till I find what I am after. Doug Kiefer

I am considering upgrading from my entry level vises to a rotary. Am looking at Renzetti presentaion, Griffin Montana mongoose and Dyna King Barracuda. I realize that these are not the cheapest vises in the world but would like this to be the last vise that I would purchase. Would love to hear any pro's and con's that you all have. I know that a lot of this is personal preference but I don't have enough experience to know what my preferences are. The only thing I know is that I would like this vise to have a pedestal. not be light as I don't want to chase this thing all over my bench. At this time I would only be tying at home and I have several conventional vises that I can travel with. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks, Doug Kiefer

My wife purchased a wii from nintendo yesterday and has hooked it up to the internet on our wireless network. Don't know the in's and out's of the system yet, but let me tell you this ozarkanglers.com is pretty impressive on a big flatscreen television. Has anyone else tried this? Kind of cumbersome with the out of the box setup. Am checking to see if a regular keyboard can be used. Am looking at memory issues etc. If this works out this will be sweeeet! Doug Kiefer

Phil, I don't know if Brent still works for the Star but I will check it out. Doug Kiefer

Just got back from Lilley's Landing last night. What a change, 70 degrees when I got home last night and 15 degrees this morning. Anyway back to the real issue at hand. Phil, had a wonderful stay at your resort as usual can't wait to get back. The OAF new years day thing was great! It was good to put faces with names I normally just see on a computer screen. The food was outstanding I don't think I will need to eat for several weeks. Phil that was the first time I've had salmon and it was great. Terry, my wife had a great time assisting you with the frying. Great to meet all of you and I hope this continues in future years ,I know my wife and I will be back if it does. My wife liked it so much that she bought boots and waders while we were down there. Looks like my fly tying better get up to speed in a hurry! Happy new year to everyone! Thanks to everyone that planned this bash I had a great time. Doug Kiefer

Weather permitting the wife and I will still be down with barbequed beans that have smoked pork and beef in it. Doug

Hi folks, I have a very nice pair of Simm's L2 waders that I got from BCO in Springfield. My question is this, for winter fishing am I better served investing in some good layering to go under these waders or am I better off investing in a premium set of neoprene waders. Just want to stay warm in the winter. I know this opens a can of worms because there are a lot of firm believers in both camps. Would love to hear all of your opinions. Thanks, Doug

Just thought of something. I would be remiss if I did not add to my previous post that two years ago we cut down to a skeleton crew and I now have a new appreciation for the term JIT manufacturing. Doug

I am the shop supervisor of a mold shop. We build several different type of molds for plastic bottles in the plastics industries. Usually this is our slow time of the year and our sales pick up after new years when our customers new budgets come out. Right now we are good through December and sales for January and February are already coming in. I will say this though, most of these sales are coming through our existing customer base. We are fortunate in that we have developed several new large customers in 2008 and this could prove VERY beneficial to us in 2009. Overall we could be doing a lot worse. Doug

This morning I was just wondering the same thing. Where's Trav? Thanks Phil for letting us know he is ok! Doug

My nephew from the Dallas area is in town for thanksgiving. The folks in his neighborhood are having a heck of a time with pigs. He lives on the outskirts of Dallas on the northwest side. He lives in an upscale subdivision so very large lots are the norm. Problem, on one side is a conservation area and the other side is a fairly large lake. At night these pigs will wander in and do all kinds of damages to lawns and property. My question is this, do any of you have experience with these pigs and is there anything these home owners can do to deter these animals. There are a lot of children and pets in this area so a lot of conventional methods are probably eliminated. If anyone has any ideas I will pass them onto my nephew and I'm sure that he will appreciate them. He has two gorgeous small children and I would hate to see them come face to face with one of these animals if they ever get brave enough to come out during the day. Thanks, Doug Kiefer

Thanks for the report Phil. Hope the water is down when I come down over new years. Can't wait to get down there and give Curtis a hard time about his tigers although my tigers don't look that great either. Doug Kiefer

Leonard If I am not cooking for the new years day thing and the BOSS will let me out I just might do that. Thanks for the invite. Doug Kiefer

Just thought of something. If I can get my hands on some smoked brisket and or smoked pork I will make up a big batch of barbequed beans. These are good hot or cold. I should be able to come up with this relatively easy. Doug Kiefer

My wife and I have reservations at Lilley's Dec 31 and Jan 1&2. We will bring something. Leonard just let me know if you need anything in particular. Doug Kiefer

When I woke up at Lilleys this morning I stepped outside and lo and behold it appeared that the water had been turned off. Finished packing and before we left town I went up to the outlets. Yes the water definitely was off and the boys seemed to be having a great time. It was interesting to see some of the changes. The big tree in the gauntlet was incredible. If I didn't have my waders etc. buried in the van I would have gone wading if nothing else to get a look at things. Hopefully I can get down there again this fall. This time with the water off when I can actually particpate in the festivities. Oh well, had a great time this week anyway. Any day on Taney beats a day of work in the caves in KC. Doug

Try www.kcbs.us. This is the kansas city barbeque societies website. They sell all kinds of sauces and rubs and have links to many other sites. Enjoy, Doug

Being the first game of the year some things plesantly pleased me and some things disturbed me deeply. It seems to me some of our tigers have been reading to much of the newspapers. Illinois was a VERY athletic team that by the end of the year could be very dangerous. What disturbs me was Chase Daniels throwing behind receivers for the first three quarters and then forcing deep throws downfield into coverage. It seems like Missouri threw way down field or into the flats most of the time. Intermediate routes were open the entire game and when they were used were extremely effective. (Chase Coffman) The running game was not as bad as I expected. Being from Kansas City I watched Derrick Washington from Ray-Pec high school and he is definitely real deal. In my opinion he has a potential for more upside than Tony Temple. In my opinion Missouri needs to continue to work the intermediate routes(Chase Coffman, another Ray-Pec product) and get the ball to Jeremy Macklin as much as possible. Lets hope Jeremy is ok. My worst concern was the defense. I felt that after the strong start that once Juice Williams settled down that the left side of the Missouri defense's secondary was exposed to the world. I don't feel like these guys could cover a junior high team, and I am praying Coach Pinkel fixes this fast. Best team I saw this weekend, to me no doubt USC followed by Georgia. Either of which that would at this point of the season destroy my tigers. What do you all think? These are just my feeble opinions. Doug
