  1. bluegill and crappie spawn is negatively affected by high water flows often associated with ozark streams. They may find some sloughs or backwaters and occasionally wash out of ponds so there are some but not usually enough to target.
  2. the outlaw yeehaw mentality has invaded the gigging world. Used to be a jon boat and some sort of light and a fish fry on a gravel bar. Now its 150 hp jetboats that run the meremac for a dozen miles in a night, 2m candelpower lights and enough fish killed to feed most of St. Clair if anyone cares to clean and cook em. All about killing piles of fish...
  3. back in the day when ever we were lucky enough to get a flathead over 10lbs (we had one 55) in Bouef Creek we would take it back to the farm and dad would keep it in a stock tank for a week or so. Seemed like they were pretty darn good eating! we found one with a super ball in its stomach!
  4. I got all excited when I watched it the first time and thought it said the "upper NIANGUA" I was ready to float down to Bennett Spr!
  5. My brother was on the Gravois Arm last weekend for catfish and said it was at 8 ft??? Don't know anymore than that but he said any catfish below that depth was dead as a doornail so they set all their hooks at 7 ft. He said it was pretty slow. They fished two nights with 20 hooks on 11 jugs, using sunfish and caught 8 from 14 to 27 lbs. Good quality but low numbers. Checking them 3 times from dark to dawn.

  8. I saw a mention in the KC Star that they were catching fish on a "pink glow worm"? on the White. I was net surfing and found this in the UK> anyone know if they are available here and or is that what the reference in the KCStar was? http://www.agmdiscountfishing.co.uk/bite-ballzy-worm-pink-glow-10pcs-p-4063.html "

  10. Slow, slow, slow! We fished from above monkey island to the second bridge saturday for 5 hrs and caught 2 fish! We saw no other fish caught and there were a dozen+ boats in that stretch. We went to the dam this morning and a guideboat was catching some on peach egg flys. We tried that and caught 4. Went back in the afternoon and caught 5 including a beautiful 22 in by my wife all the way down at Fall Creek. Less flow this morning took a short float from Fall Creek to the boat ramp. Threw 1/8 oz brown and sculping jigs and drug nightcrawlers with -0- luck! Very very tough weekend of fishing! Uploaded with ImageShack.us
