  1. This is only my first spring fishing the Little Sac River so bear with me as I ask what may be some really silly questions. 1. From what I've read, the white bass run is usually around late March-mid April. Being that it is May 8, would it still be worth my time putting a line in the water (are they still running)? Are white bass only in the river during the run, or are there some that stay there throughout the spring/summer? 2. Can you catch crappie in the actual river itself (not at the mouth where it meets Stockton Lake)?
  2. Fished around the Turkey Creek branch from the bank this afternoon. Caught several bass on minnows and a crawdad crankbait. Only one keeper size. Hooked into and landed a nice 20" walleye at dusk! That was the first walleye I have ever caught that was over 12 inches! Im thinking about heading to the dam to try and fish along the riprap to catch some more later this week.
  3. Hey Everyone! I have been reading the posts on here for the past couple of months, but just haven't found the time to become a member until now. I am new to the Ozarks ( as if my user ID name didn't give that away). I am a graduate student at SBU and have been fishing Pomme de Terre and Stockton since I arrived in August 2010. Let me tell you, fishing here is quite different than fishing back home (Alaska & Washington). However, I have enjoyed the challenges that Bass, Crappie, and Catfish have given me. I mostly tend to target Bass and Crappie as I find they are the best tasting- dare i say, crappie are better than salmon!?!. Unfortunately, my time here in the Ozarks is drawing to a close. I will be leaving this great area and state this August (2013) as I continue my education. Anyways, I just wanted to say hello, and that I value all of the information and tips all of y'all post on here. Will-
  4. I fish Pomme quite frequently, but I don't have a boat (nor access to one) so everything I do is from the bank. I didn't go today because with a westerly or northerly wind it is sometimes not worth it for me to get up to the lake (too difficult to cast from the shore i fish). I am not certain, but I don't think the bolivar landing has a dock near the boat ramp lanes. Someone else might have a more "for sure" answer though.
