  1. Aldrich is VERY shallow right now. I would not attempt going upriver there in a deep v boat. Heck I wouldn't even go up In my flatbottom.
  2. Powersite 3/3/13
  3. Fished the pothole today. Throwing stick Baits and sliders. Not a bite. Lost several nice lures. I didn't see anyone else catch anything. Fished at empire and caught a half dozen minnow sized rainbow stockers.
  4. Nice mess !! Were they hitting minnows ?
  5. That's what I was afraid Of Lol
  6. Sounds like we were in the wrong place ! Put in at CC about dark. Fished the steep rock back north of Springfield Cove and the rock fence cove, then motored back and fished near the bridge. Caught one white bass about 6 inches long . Not even another nibble. Used a submersible and floating crappie light. Fished with minnows at varying depths. So frustrating!! But a beautiful night to be out nonetheless. We were the only boat out in the CC area.
  7. Has anyone night fished in the last few days ? Was wondering what effects the cooler temps would have. Has anyone had any luck under the bridge piers at cedar ridge ?

    Walleyes

    Thanks Straw !
  9. From everyone's experience do these maps actually highlight good fishing areas (walleye) ? Who is responsible for compiling the specific fishing area info. Is it a goose chase ? I just want to catch a few walleye and am looking for area in general to concentrate efforts this time of year i.e.( Cedar ridge, mutton, state park etc) of course I'm not looking for specifics or anyone's honeyhole.

Thanks mike ! Generally speaking, about how far would you space the bouncer from the harness ?

How does one fish a crawler harness ? I assume trolling ? Could a guy catch any walleye near CC ?
  12. Only 2 fished cleaned had eggs.
  13. Correction- this report was from saturday the 28th.
  14. Fished from about 1:00 to dark. Crappie were biting like crazy and shut off about 4:00. Probably caught two dozen fish only 8 keepers. Found them in about 5 feet of water in a small cove near cc. Then tried The cove with the rock fence without much luck. There were some guys that were catching some now and then In 15 foot of water near timber. The keepers that I did Catch were huge and actually caught them closer to the bank In less then 4 foot of water. Couldn't buy a bite on jigs. They were Hitting minnows dropped Straight down or slowly retrieved along the bottom. Also Caught several decent largemouths on A baby bass colored crankbait along steep rock banks. The water where I caught most crappie was very dingy and stagnant. Don't have a depth finder but the water Seemed pretty warm. Hope this helps. Tight lines.
  15. Thanks guys ! Awesome map ZS. I think I'll try what you labeled "good gravel launch "
  16. I Heard birch branchwas a good place to fish During the crappie spawn. Opinions ? Also, is there any access to launch a smaller boat around there ? I can't tell from the maps. Any gravel roads that end in water ? It would be quite a haul from cc with my 9.9 fourstroke lol
  17. I wil give you a BIG tip.. Keep moving Aka troll very slowly with 8th ounce jigs
  18. On Friday, we fished the big sac arm for about 3 hours. We caught around 30 crappie. Probably 15 keepers along with a few white bass mixed in. These fish were suspended a few feet above the bottom. They were fat and full of eggs. Whoever said all the crappie were spawned out is not correct. Cant wait for them to move into shallow water!

Was thinking about crappie fishing Saturday if we can get some dry weather. Would it be worth going after this big rain ? How will it Affect the crappie pattern ? Thanks
  20. Where is hartly ?
  21. No sir
  22. Go North my friend anyone catchin any eyes yet ? Would it be crazy to throw a stick bait in the river ?
  23. Hey there I have been reading the forum for quite some time and decided I might as well join. I am Crappie fisherman who would like to learn how to catch walleye more consistently. The only ones I have caught were by minnow dunking accidents . Does anyone know what the water temperature is at the Dam right now ? I assume it's getting close to time. I fished the Dam with stickbaits this weekend to no avail (I know it's still early ) I have also fished it in march in past years with no luck. My boat is to small for comfort when the wind gets blowing and Don't want to be the next drowning victim on the lake. Can a bank fisherman have any luck from the rip rap ? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance !
