  1. Went out this evening for an hour to pittle around for whites. Didn't find them but I did catch some really nice bass in an hour. Caught around 2 over 5 lbs and this big gal over 8. Didn't even plan on going but I thought what the hell. Not going to be fishing this weekend since I'm a Marshall , so needless to say I'm really glad I went.
  2. Nice fish. Bite may just be starting up in that area. If temps are close to 50 you may want to fish pretty shallow. You would be surprised how many fish will be up shallow.
  3. Yeah I don't think the white river lakes fish the same all the time and that's what makes them unique. May be similar but Table Rock has a little but of everything in it. It changes from day to day as we all know.
  4. A little late on the post sorry guys. Lots of people asking about crappie so thought I would post. I usually fish for bass exclusively on TR but I noticed when I was bass fishing a lot of people were catching crappie. I picked up some minnows and focused on brush piles in 10 ft or less. Set the float about 5-6 ft with a small split shot sinker about a foot 1/2 from the bait. Was using a short trout rod since that's all I had in the boat haha. My dad and I did catch 11 big slabs with the biggest around 15in. Caught about 4 shorts which was surprising. You really had to work for them though and have your bait right exactly where they wanted it. Sometimes that was the center of the pile or just to outside of it. A lot of times I would set the hook and think man I'm caught in the pile but the fish would be on and had to wait for it to swim out of it. Cannot give the exact locations since a nice gentlemen directed me towards these piles. I will say they were up in the creeks and 10ft or less. Good luck guys.
  5. Stacey won the PAA here a few years back. When the water was real stained.
  6. Depends on the conditions as to where they will catch them. If the weather stays steady and farily warm, I think they will catch most in shallow wether they are on the bank or suspended in trees in 10ft or less.
  7. I have two setups. I really like the lews super duty reels and they are really light. I always get the high speed 7:1 ratio because I can get it down fast and just really slow down plus if they are biting the wart they will really put slack in your line like they did the past 2 weeks. I have a BPS pro qualifier rod that is 6 years old. 6'6" medium power and fast tip. The other I use is a carbon light 7' medium fast. Love the setup.
  8. If the dam area bust open there will be some monsters caught. No one has been fishing that area. Thinking a crank and jig will get it done.
  9. Jolicious. I would bring the boat. The lake will fish big this weekend. The bite could bust open at any time. Plus the the top 50 only fish Saturday and the top 12 on shbday
  10. Nice fish. Pink trick worm gets them Almost every trip.
  11. I agree also. I use mono backing on all my setups. Buy some cheap mono. I use excel from bass pro. It is cheap and a good line for mono setups. This will save you money on fluorocarbon and braid setups. I usually fill the last 75 yards or so of the spool with what I'm going for.
  12. What color is that? I've never seen strike king have a tomato craw.
  13. Nice report thumbs. I was tearing them up in a 5xd in that color. I've looked everywhere online and cannot find anymore. I think they stopped making it.
  14. My dad and I had a pretty tough day today too up long creek. The fish fought a lot harder than they have been but we only ended up with about 11 fish and we started at 10 am and off the water at 6
  15. Bill I really like the area down there but that is just to much of a boat ride for me. It takes just an hour to drive there by truck from where in at. May make a few trips down there this year but it's just a ways from where I'm at. Those fish are safe from a ride to K city
  16. Don't worry champ Mable was released with no harm after a few pics lol. Had a nice trip today. Really enjoyed fishing with Jeff. He put us on some fish for sure. Josh it just depends on the type of bank. I usually let it sink to the bottom before I start my retrieve. It may be 5-10 or out in 20ft of water.
  17. Bo he isn't selling these. Just for personal use or for ozark angler members.
  18. Hahahah! You are a hoot.
  19. I don't go up the kings to often but if you can safely get through the trash in most creeks and rivers they will clear up again
  20. Ryan great job. I don't think they are catching those big bags in the dam to kimberling area. That bite has been horrible with all of the shad kill. I think they have been getting those bags up the white or James and maybe into the start of long creek. Not for sure on that but that's just what I think.
  21. Good job sholder. We fished it as well and had around 14.5 lbs. Had a 6.02 kicker with just some keepers to go along with it. We only had 5 keepers the whole day with lots of barley short fish. We caught all of ours on something other than the a-rig which made my day except the part of missing out on big bass and in the money lol. Needs to warm up so we can out those dang things away. I will be celebrating when that arig bite is over.
  22. Thanks will have to try that
  23. RPS I remember a while back you said you made your own Jika rigs. I forgot what size split rings you said works best though. Do you mind refreshing my memory?
  24. Awesome job danger. I forgot to tell you that I did catch a couple fish on your jigs this past weekend. Didn't fish the jig very long though. From the pics above I would say it's a winner.
  25. Bill I think the cold rain really shut them down for the most part on Sunday. Water temps were 2-3 degrees colder that morning. It seems right now the way things are you can go a really long time without a bite then bam you catch fish on consecutive cast. Really makes it hard to decide if you should wait it out for them to bite or move to another spot. Should be some good fishing coming with these warmer temps.
