  1. I spent 2 hours up on the lake hunting my usual spots but didn’t see any yet. With next weeks weather forecast I’m thinking it’s going to be another full week before anything really gets going.
  2. https://www.dvidshub.net/news/365399/army-corps-engineers-adjust-lake-operations-amid-health-concerns#.XnI4L6p198U.facebook
  3. I spent four hours in Sons on Thursday morning and couldn’t get a bite, crappie or bass. I think that’s the first time that has ever happened to me up in Sons.
  4. Welcome back Skeeter!!!
  5. Still hanging @ 41ish @ Mutton Creek.
  6. Went out today with Olfishead and had one of those humbling days after slaying them for the last three months. Lost jigs-9 Crappie caught-3 Hours on the water-8 Very tough day for us today! However it was a beautiful day on the water and it’s always good to fish with a member of the OA family!
  7. Tuesday the water temps were 41 and the clarity was 3’+. See you on the lake tomorrow, good luck 🍀!
  8. We didn’t keep anything over 12 inches so the big girls are still out there swimming around, hopefully full of eggs!
  9. First off I want to thank those of you who stopped by the Fin & Feather booth this weekend to introduce yourself, sure was nice putting some names to faces! Went out this morning and ended up with a couple of nice limits of crappie, still finding them in 25 to 40 feet of water on jigs. Surprisingly the water temps are holding at 41°, overall it was a very quiet but productive day on the water. Tight & Thumping Lines!! 🎣
  10. Thanks Ron, great to meet you!! I’m headed back up tomorrow to see if I still remember how to get bit. 😳
  11. If you don’t have plans this weekend come to the Springfield Expo Center for this great event. Stop by and say hi, I’ll be working the Fin and Feather booth. 9 to 5 Saturday & 9 to 3 Sunday. Todd
  12. A beautiful sunny day on the water with limited success on the crappie but some pretty nice bass on the Alabama Rig. Ended up with 13 keeper crappie for the fire department for their fish fry. We also ended up with six nice large mouth and one nice smallmouth, most of them were right in the 3 pound range including a double. Tight Lines!
  13. Heading back to CO and taking fish later this month. The Bolivar Fire Department has also contacted me and asked me to help them supply crappie for a feed their having next week. I can promise you I’ve left plenty in the lake.😁 Since her dad won’t join me please let Kelsey know I’d love to take her fishing with me one day soon. I’ve got some fish-catching 1/16oz jigs that flat put them in the boat!! 😂😂😂 Go Chiefs!
  14. Great bite on the water this morning! Had 2 limits by 10 o’clock, just about the time the wind came up. It was very chilly with the breeze up there this morning but the crappie didn’t seem to mind. 40° water temperature in 40 foot of water on jigs. Thumping Lines! Go Chiefs!! #bucketofslabs
  15. Tougher bite today but we did manage a limit of some nice slabs. We did notice a number of big floaters in the lake, be careful. Beautiful January day on the lake!
  16. Very few floaters that I saw, and most of those were pretty small.
  17. Back on the water again today out of Old State Park. Ended up with 20 keepers that all came out of one brush pile. We bounced around to another six or eight piles but couldn’t find any hungry ones. The water out of Old State Park is very clear between there and the dam. It was interesting as yesterday we only caught all white crappie and today all we could catch were black crappie.....except one. The fish we caught today were in 28 to 30 feet using shad colored jigs in that clearwater. 41 degree water. Tight Lines!
  18. See my 1/25 post for updates.
  19. A chilly day on the water but the crappie were cooperative. Ended up with two limits up around the twin bridges area. Water clarity is only about 2 feet with water temps around 41. Jigs in 35 to 40 feet of water. Tight Lines!
  20. Now this should generate some creative responses! 😂😂
  21. If ANYONE IS INTERESTED... A friend of mine has two tickets for the AFC Championship game, both box seats. He paid $3,000 each. It comes with ride to and from the airport, lunch, dinner and $200.00 bar tab. Also has field passes. He didn’t realize last year when he bought them, it was going to be on the same day as his wedding. If you are interested, he is looking for someone to take his place... It’s at St. Paul’s church, in Springfield at 3pm. Her name is Ashley. She’s 5’4”, about 130 lbs, and a good cook too. She loves to hunt and fish, She’ll be the one in the white dress. I can post a pic of HER boat on request !!!
  22. Just an FYI that the muddy water has now reached Mutton Creek and it’s a mile on north of that and moving pretty good. There is a ton of shad in that muddy water but we couldn’t get anything to bite. However we did find some clear water today on north and ended up with 23 keepers. Tight Lines!!
  23. Awesome day on the lake, light winds and balmy temps!!! 2 limits of crappie by 9:20 with 2 keeper eyes and one nice bass....which is still swimming. Jigs in 35+ feet of 43 degree water. Even fed the wildlife at the ramp. Tight & thumping lines!!
  24. Feel better soon Skeeter!!! Crappie fished out our State Park Tuesday and only had 3 crappie. You picked the perfect time to recoup!
  25. Went up on Monday out of Mutton Creek and ended up with 10 crappie and 3 walleye. The bite for me is also slowing down, gonna head up today and see how it goes out of State Park. Everything caught yesterday was on jigs in 30+ feet of water around brush. 43 degree water which is actually 2 degrees warmer than I was showing just before Christmas??? Tight Lines!
