I’m right there with you Old Guy, just can’t squat & fillet like I used to. I’ve been using the ironing board for years and just mounted a 2x6 to it. I also need to get a brush tied to the board to help scrub it off when I’m finished. Tight Lines!!!

Had a very cold and tough day up in Sons Creek. Only ended up with seven crappie. The water is shaping up pretty nicely, stained but not dirty way up the creek. — Based on the reports I’m reading for crappie I would go down and launch out of state park and fish main lake, it seems like the crappie are pretty hot on that end of the lake right now. It’s going to be very cold again tomorrow so good luck!

Had a great 4 hours on the lake today! Released this girl but kept 10 for the oil. Jigs in 12 to 15’. Out of Roark Bluff.
-
Put in at Mutton Creek today. Water is pretty stained above MC and just lightly stained going towards the dam. Tough fishing today for us, a couple of bass and 7 keeper crappie on jigs. Water temps were 61 to 66.

This was posted on the Stockton crappie page on Facebook: Cc up to mutton looks like a swamp. Up around state park is murky and a real slow bite. Lake is supposed to go up a few more feet by Monday.

Remember that the BFL has their tournament out of Roark on Saturday. Expecting 175+/- boats so Roark and Mutton ramps will be a zoo!!

Nice afternoon on the water, ended up with 24 keepers and these two nice 14 inch slabs! Out of Mutton Creek with 60° to 63° water. Jigs in 6 to 12 feet of water. Maybe it’s going to happen this week..... Tight Lines! This post has been promoted to an article

I have yet to catch a spot this year, however last year seemed I’d catch one or two every outing.

Great job Dutch!! We were on the water again today out of Mutton Creek and ended up with about a dozen bass and six keeper crappie. All of our bass came on Ned rigs and brush hogs.

There’s going to be so many lines in the water Saturday you’re going to need one of these! 🤣. 7 tournaments on the lake, 2 of those out of Roark with 43 boats! Me thinks I’ll stay home and do yard work. Stay patient and please remember to prep your boat BEFORE you get on the ramp. Tight Lines!!

Everybody please do your part! 🙏

I just knew that I was going to slay the crappie again today with the front moving in but after 7 hours I could only manage 4 crappie and 5 bass. Just when you think you have it figured out.......NOT. Oh well we’ll try again tomorrow.

Had a great afternoon on the water, a nice limit of crappie! Went out of Mutton Creek and found 58° water and 14 of the 15 crappie were males in less than 3 feet of water. Dogwoods are blooming and the crappie are headed to the bank, what a blast! Tried a number of different colored jigs but they all produced. Tight Lines!

Went out today out of Roark Bluff and had a pretty tough day. We caught a ton of white bass only because my partner wanted to take some home. We ended up with a half a dozen bass and four keeper crappie but it was a pretty tough day up in Sons Creek. Tight Lines! P. S. The water up in the creek is 58 to 60.

Went out on both Wednesday and Thursday, one day out of Mutton Creek and one day out of Roark. Water temps on both days were between 53 and 55, both around the Twin Bridges area and also in Sons Creek. On Wednesday, with all the south wind, we hammered the white bass and I am guessing we had well over 70........none of the big girls we were catching this time last year but lots of fun anyway. We also ended up catching around 10 crapppie just before dark one evening and over the two days probably caught a dozen bass and two walleye......nothing of any size to brag about. However the attached photos was the bonus over the last two days! Tight Lines!

Went out today from 630 until 130 and found it to be a really rough day, literally! Strong winds all day up around the twin bridges area but ended up with five bass and could only find one crappie. I think all five of my bass came on something different; jig, jerk bait, crank bait, shaky head and something else. After being off the lake for a week it was amazing to find only 52 and 53° water all day, almost 10° cooler than last week. Headed back up again tomorrow hoping that the cloudy day with the front coming in will help them bite a little better. Tight Lines!

With the colder weather and wind I think it’s going to have fishing, mainly crappie, shutdown until late next week. Just my .02 worth.

60 to 63 up in Sons Creek this afternoon.

Spent all afternoon chasing crappie and only had two in the boat by 7 PM. Between 7 and 8 o’clock we boated 24 more nice ones on jigs. Seems that last hour of light they come in real shallow, those last 24 fish came out of 3 foot of water or less. I have to admit it was the first time cleaning crappie by the trucks headlights over at Mutton Creek. Water today was between 57 and 63. Tight Lines!

bassfisher needs to relax and chill, all’s fair in love and fishing! 😁

What a difference a few days make. Went back to the places in Sons Creek I caught them on the 2nd and blanked, all the places! Over 9 hours two of us caught 6 small blacks, 6 whites and 1 crappie. Jigs and jerkbaits caught the few fish we had. Talked to a number of folks fishing and everybody seemed to be struggling, especially the crappie fishermen. 52 to 55 degree water temps. Tight Lines......NOT. 😩

I’ve yet to catch a Kentucky this year but I can promise you any of them over 12” are going for a boat ride! Tight Lines! 😁
