  1. Thanks all. Pretty good weekend. We ended up doing ok. Just ended up throwing spinner baits and dad got a handful. It seemed pretty slow out there in general but he has been skunked out there and had a good time before so boating the fish is just icing on the cake.
  2. If my family could plan more than a week out I would have hired him this weekend.
  3. Heading to the lake tonight with my parents and plan to get some serious fishing in with my dad. I generally do alright (been fishing the rock for a while) dragging a jig or throwing a spook but problem is, that is all I've figured out how to do. Dad is a pond guy so what he is comfortable throwing is not great on big water and I never seem to put him on any fish. A few questions. Even though there is colder air temps should I still fish like its summer? I hate the transition periods. Never sure what to do. I'm sticking with what champ and rps said from earlier this week unless anyone else has input. What tackle should I tie on for dad? Little rapala stick baits and spinner baits are what he is used too (not cold enough for the little rapalas) so I'm thinking set him up with some war eagle spinners. Any other suggestions? Jig isn't getting it done for the guy and it is my comfort bait. I'll be in the red nitro 591 with all my ou sooner gear if anyone sees me near shell knob. Take care all.
  4. The regulation pretty much only eliminates bilge type pumps. As long as the current carrying portion of the motor is not submersed you should be good.
  5. I fish almost exclusively the jig as it is my comfort bait and it will catch fish 24/7/365. Spring was good but summer, fall, and winter seemed bad to me.
  6. Thanks a ton bill. Llloks like i is time to learn to drop shot. Dragging a jig seems spotty at best.

    Help!

Ive got nothing of value other than i fished from 5:15 to 6:00 in the evening deep back in a cove (12ftow near shell knob). Got a decent bass on the first cast with a fb jig and twin trailer and then couldnt hook up again. The important part was that there were literally 10's of balls of shad up this cove. They were everywhere. Thats all i know.
  8. 12 lb flouro with 3/8 or 1/2 oz jig. Seems to be appropriate for just about every method and time of year. A hybrid line for jigs that does everything well but nothing great.

  10. I too want to buy those lights. I don't think you want white for bug/ night vision reasons. With that color the bugs wont swarm you and it doesnt adjust your eyes. Trust me, wou want a "black" type light.
  11. I cant ever find the threads cause im always in my phone. Thanks for the link.
  12. Hehe. So you are crawbug huh? Is this C or B?
  13. Bump. Im doing this next time im not to drunk on saturday night. Should be around 2017.
  14. Hmmm. So you are one of the ones i see out there from the deck. We should do a "get to know" type thread with pictures of our boats.
  15. Which dock?
