I cant help with your question but all in all I think just about every bait shop gives you more than you pay for. some shops just give you way more and that spoils us for the next time when our minnow buckets dont look so crowded. for example (I wont name the shops) there is one at pomme that gives me at least 8 dozen when I order 2 or 3. One at stockton gives me more than I pay for but just doesnt look like it. Now there is one in springfield that when you order 2 dozen thats exactly what you get plus they are $1 higher. I live in springfield and to my knowledge there is nowhere to buy minnows between there and CC ramp. C-store in everton used to sell them but didnt always have any or the water was nasty and they would die. Hated to see the guy on the other side of CC bridge close up already. when I lived at clinton and fished truman my dad would buy them for $6 a pound and we had our own tank and aireator. we figured it was well over a thousand minnows. oh well just my thoughts. good luck finding bulk minnows.

any results on the tourney? seems like something going on every tourney date so I cant make it. -
my buddy and I put in at 7am saturday morning. been having starting problems with my boat lately. can get it to start at home but when i get to the lake I have no fire. I think I have finally isolated the problem to a bad connecting wire somewhere close to the ignition switch. Of course this morning was no exception. so we just trolled around the ramp cove and parked over a brush pile. 3 hours later we had 11 keeper crappie in the wells. boat still wont start so started checking wires and got it to fire. went on fishing several other spots and could not buy a bite. went towards highpoint area to try to find dingyer water and did but no luck. by now its 4 pm so decided to go back to starting place before going home. 3 more keepers including 2 13 inchers. the bite was very slow all day and very very lite. we only caught 3 shorts the whole day. all fish were caught on minnows and niblets. threw every color of jigs in the box but could not get a bite. water clarity was 6 to 8 foot. temps from 59 near cedar ridge to 67 around high point. 13 of the 14 fish were females full of eggs and 1 male. brush pile was in 22 fow and fish were caught at 12 to 14 foot deep. located tons wf fish in the 20 ish fow but couldnt make em bite. the moral of the story.....you can lead your minnow to fish but you cant make em bite. good luck everyone.

nice report. your lite soft bite is decribed the same way by someone on the stockton forum. interesting

if you want to fish a crappie tourney, crappie slayers has one a month on pomme 40 bucks a boat 10 bucks for big crappie. not large but nice group.

just cant understand why you smile so big. Im jealous.. nice fish. loved your pictures last week with the eye.

i leave my 2 bank on board charger plugged in all the time although I check on it frequently. i use a regular charger on my starting battery just to top off but do not leave it plugged in after a full charge. im paranoid about getting to the ramp and having a dead starting battery.

redbird........I fish crappie mostly but I used to be the same way about pomme. you just have to give the lake a chance and dont let one bad day make you not like it. pomme is just like stockton if you compare the two on maps. pomme is just a smaller version of stockton. my brother has a weekend place on pomme so I have been fishing with him a lot the last 3 years. now its just a toss up on which lake has a better report and or better weather forecast for when I go by myself. as for bass just look at the reports on here the past few weeks. sounds really good to me. just apply the same statagy on pomme that you would on stockton and you will be fine. you will learn to love the lake and love that you can get anywhere on the lake really fast. good luck. stacey

Brad.........wheres the standings for the tourney last saturday?

i have parked there several times and we asked the subdivision residents about it and was told it would be ok untill it was abused or property damaged accured but the others are right the parking sucks. someone always has to screw up the system.

2 buddys and myself fished there sat the 21st. we ended up with 22 NICE whites most of which came in flat creek just up from point 15. my friends were catching on number 5 silver shad rap and I was using a clown color rattle flicker shad. all fish were in a deeper pocket of about 23 fow around 15 ft deep. the bite turned on for us at 130 and shut off at 330 at which time we had to leave anyway. lots and lots of boats. really didnt see that many spoonbill for as many boats that were trying. great day to be out. good luck everyone.

buddy and I fished from cedar ridge to aldridge and back sunday from 9am to 4pm. couldnt buy a bite. we were targeting white bass and crappie. I casted into a school of shad that was busting and snagged one and my buddy caught one dink bass and that was it all day. we saw a couple of catfish caught up towards aldridge and a whole lot of boats running around searching. the water temps were 42 at cedar ridge and 52 at aldridge. water was muddy and trashy about half way from aldridge and changed to clear like you drew a line. at least it was a beautiful day to be on the lake. crappie slayers is having a tourney on pomme this saturday. $40 boat plus $10 for big fish. small group of good people just having fun. come and join us. good fishing everyone. stacey

dangit. I wanted to go this weekend but the wind report backed me off. glad to hear you had good luck. I bought a new lowrance gps locator at BP this weekend and am dying to get it installed and try it out. And by the way about that ground hog, the boss dug him up and put in a dump truck and I buryed him real deep. He wont see his shadow again. good report. I'll honk on my way by. Stacey
