  1. nice!!!!!!! i bet your mom was happy with that nice mess of crappie
  2. during bps spring classic they had them for 2.99 with a 1.00 rebait. i loaded up on them.
  3. weve caught pre and post spawn fish on main lake points on the upper end above hawker point. seen several cruisers in spawning coves last week end. my opinion is the spawn it winding down upper end and still active towards the dam. i'd say mile long bridge to the darn big sac arm, state park marina to the dam little sac arm.
  4. read some the articles that dtrkeepers has posted on the tablerock forum or i'm sure if you pmd him he would be glad to help you. he has helped me alot with it the last year.
  5. the males take on the dark coloration to attract the females to their nest is what i was taught. black and whites species of crappie have a different pattern and a couple of fishing addict's crappie look like black females.
  6. i dont want it to sound like im pointing my finger at good anglers who made adjustments to their technique and reduced the risk of injuring fish. but it is proving the ned can catch very large numbers of fish in one day and someone not adept to fishing it can gut hook alot of fish and as we get alot of vacationers coming in during the warmer months and dragging it around the number of injured fish can add up quickly. ive fished it quite a bit and i read from the fellas and gals that fish it on the rock to learn to fish it correctly is an art and some of them are masters at it.
  7. you hit the nail on the head walcra!!!!!! it took me several times out to learn how not to gut hook fish. for an inexperienced fisherman to drag it behind the boat on slack line is a disaster waiting to happen. its interesting you brought this topic up because when i was in the shop today papi was modifying his 1/8oz ned rig mold to take a 4/0 hook so a full size senko type bait can be fished on it. Maybe people with a consious are starting to see the problem with it..ive been saying for months that these small 10 to 14'' fish get stung by it enough by the time they are keeps they see it they will swim other way. when i'm fishing for money all i need is 5 good bites and i may or may not get them on the ned but with the 5 good bites i'll get 30 dinks and dinks dont bring home a ck. plus i run the risk of gut hooking a fish and i hate doing that!!!!!! i do fish it some but im trying different baits hooks and ect.as they were talking on the table rock forum probly the best and safest way to fish it is to bend the barb of the hook down.
  8. Great report trap. Looking forward to fishing with you Saturday.
  9. wheres the tournament out of and is it day or night. alot of variables in what your asking but the main lake could use some color visibility some places is around 12'. carolina rig has been very consistent main lake points a shaky and wobble head had been good but didnt produce on tuesday secondary points and pockets.. guys are gearing up to throw a football jig and a blade is about all i can tell you. .
  10. might consider putting in at 160 bridge on turnback above CC wont be as much boat traffic and the fishing has been pretty good last i heard a couple of days ago.
  11. i got schooled today hammer put it on me. i was counting on my shakey and wobblehead bite to hold but it blew up in my face. around 5 i gave in and asked hammer for a c rig and was able to redeem myself atleast a little. I wittnessed the C rig bite for myself and it was awsome. Thnx Hammer i had a great time with you today and learned alot from you. Jason i enjoyed fishing with you yesterday. In a few days i bet the trolling bite for crappie will get more consistent. I think i'm gonna have a relapse from the just in case syndrome. I tried to pack light today and only bring what i was confident in but had all the wrong stuff including rods. next time hammer we better take my boat cause i think you might have a calf if i show up to the ramp with 150lbs of tackle hahahaha!!!!!
  12. Since they arent worth 15 bazillion dollars like some of them bring i think they will go in my wart box. thnx for the info Dave.
  13. found a couple pre warts last weekend i just couldnt pass up. they are sealed in box, the v45 is red label and v62 is blue label. i want to open them up and fish em but would hate to if they worth more than the 15 a piece i pd for them. found the v45 nib but unsealed on ebay had a 15.90 bid with a day left but couldnt find the v62. anybody got an ideas what they are worth since they a nib and sealed.
  14. thats what i'm looking for d. i've got to find time to take that prop back and get my money back. i'm not letting him hammer on it. i'll pm you.
  15. good feeling to fish solo in a buddy tourney and kick butt!!!!! did exact same thing couple weeks ago. second place and big bass. congrats on a good weekend on the water. i'll pm you i'm on a solid 2.5 to 3.5lb bite on main lake. couple little adjustments might get you on a little bigger fish.
  16. shad spawn probly gonna start real soon and thats a good thing, break out the blades!!!!!!
  17. hammer all i can tell you is matt at dyna prop will sell me a new tempest 25 for 550 bucks. ive priced a couple used 25's and one was 325 one 300 but both i was told needed cleaned up but would make good back up in the condition they was in.
  18. most of my immediate family is gone now except an elderly aunt and my sister in western kansas. my cousin's 8 yr little boy in colorado eats and breathes bass fishing i can't wait for Jerry to bring him down here this summer so i can take them camping and fishing. here recently I have been meeting up with OAF members on Stockton and am really enjoying it. i'm meeting guys tomorrow and tuesday. tomorrow we are gonna do some walleye and crappie fishing then on tuesday some bass fishing. there are some great people on this site and if you can't take a family member or a close friend OAF members are the next best thing.
  19. chace im in need of a 25 tempest i bought a 25 turbo prop txp brand new and it does not work on my boat i lost 10mph with it and 8 after i raised my jackplate as recommended. now the shop i bought it from wants to start hammering on it. i'd like to just get my 545 bucks back and get another new tempest then get matt at dyna prop to rebuild my old one for a back up. i'll give you a call.
  20. wrench how accurate are the voltage displays on graphs. ive got hummingbirfs and the 1197c is off sometimes over a volt compared the the 1158c on the front deck. im running a blue top starting batt and its 2 years old so im thinking i better take it to oreilly's and get it tested.
  21. ive got really good electronics on my boat and if a troller is courteous i'll tell him where and what depth i marked fish. i like to troll for crappie and eye myself sometimes.
  22. Nice zarra I wish I had all the bells and whistles but I'm very satisfied with mine too.
  23. wrench alot of the trouble on stockton is because Dade Couny is full of meth heads. Crap bout 4 years ago the house 3 down trom mine blew up from a meth lab. it blew the solid core back door 75 feet across the back yard and through a privacy fence. it was a rock house and it bulged the walls out, the dumbazz jumped my fence and before he could get half way across the yard my ole mt. dog had him nailed and on the ground lmbo!!!!!
  24. zarra i can tell you this i bought that new motor guide digital 109 off of Babler and the thing is a beast. It picks the nose up out the water and on an 8 with fairly calm water it will move my boat down a bank at over 4mph. its great in the wind and the 36v system bairly uses the batteries.
