  1. Was down at GWP this evening and from the time I put in til I came back at dark it came up a little at the ramp. The other day you have to back right to the edge of the concrete to launch. We didn't get enough rain to day to make much of a difference unless up stream they got more than we got here. The only good thing I can say about the low water is that it's keeping the jet ski crowd down in the lakes at GWP.
  2. I ran into the GM at GWP a few weeks ago, ask me how fishing went, he was in his truck & I was on the ramp. Said the was the local warden for the area and seemed like a nice young man. I saw him check several registrations on jet skies while I was talking to him. He gave me his card and said to call him if I saw something that didn't look right. That was the only time I have ever been checked. Had the park ranger in Kirkwood tell me on time when I was fishing at night that the park was closed. I explained to him there were no signs saying such, after about a 10 minute conversation he said I could continue fishing if I want. The only thing that night that was biting was the misqueoties so I was ready to go anyway.
  3. Ask them if they take Food Stamps, that will normally get rid of them.
  4. X2 Well Said Thanks to all our vets past and present
  5. Nice report and it sounds like you had a very enjoyable day of fishing & floating.
  6. Was at Sam's today and I think they had a group 27 for $65 forgot what the bigger one was but it was less than $90
  7. Don't know what your looking to spend but Cabelia's has them on sale for $99
  8. Fishing from a boat is entirely new to me. Just bought by 1st boat back in Feb it's 1652 with a 20 hp Merc. Since I bought the boat the only place I have been with it is George Winter Park and the Meramec around the park. Usually go to the lower lake or fish the river between the 2 lakes. Now that I have a little experience I would like to venture out some. I was wondering how the river is around Rt66 Park for a boat like mine. BTW it's a prop motor.
  9. Back in Nov, I bought a Diwa Sliver spin cast with #8 or #10 line don't remeber which. After about 2 weeks if fishing it had worn a groove by the pickup pin. It would then either hang when casting or actually cut the line. I emailed Diwa and the did send me a new cap with the take up pin but in the mean time I decided to return for a refund.
  10. That was great thanks Chief
  11. We were down around Lynn Creek and could have limited out if the length was 8" instead of 9" most we caught were 1/8-1/2" short. Jigs were working but the bait of choice was minnows.
  12. Great read, thanks for taking the time to write it up.
  13. Pretty close to what was in my boat when I bought it. My mount didn't swivel so I added a Johnny Ray swivel mount http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00144BAYG/ref=oh_o01_s02_i00_details
  14. I recently registed my 1st boat/motor/trailer and got noting at the license office other than copies of the paper work, trailer license, boat sticker. Later in the mail I recived the titles for boat/motor/trailer I also revieved a card to be carried in the boat with info about the boat and motor I believe. What I did was took it to Kinkos and laminated it. I then glued this plastic envelope that I got at the Dollar store to a hatch cover and I keep the registration card in there. So far I have never been ask for it.
