  1. Sounds like a plan to me.......I like it
  2. So that makes it OKAY to keep the smaller one?
  3. Wish I had that in my backyard
  4. Probably didn't have a fishing license either. This little lake (5 acres) that I fish has some nice size Bluegill in it but because of the size of it the limit is 10 fish total with only 1 LMB of 18". This guy had a whole stringer of bluegill. I mentioned to him that the limit was 10, he says yea but I have never seen a Conservation Agent up here, have you? I replied yeas he was here yesterday, really nice guy. The guy fished about another 10 minutes and left. I think the had 12 BG but I believe if I hadn't said something he would have kept fishing. I haven't seen him fishing there since. I have the contact information for the conservation agents in my area in my phone, just for cases like that. I also have the number for the Missouri's Operation Game Thief 1-800-392-1111 you can call them from any place in the state and they will find someone to respond. The number is answered 24/7
  5. I can't say for sure, I went that way the other night and the park was closed but it was after dark and the park didn't look good at all, couldn't see the ramps. You can put in at the Meramec Marina which is just across the bride on Gravois entrance is on the right when going east. I think you can use the ramp for a fee, it cost $5 to launch a boat at GWP now if it's open. You have to stop on the way in and put $5 in the envelop and put the receipt on your dash. Used to be only on the weekends now it's all the time. If I had seen you post earlier I could have run down and checked it out, I don't live to far from there.
  6. Didn't have all the correct parts but built one out of a Blakemore Roadrunner and 1/2 a WormZ, that's all Walmart had. Caught a 11"er on it on the 2nd or 3rd cast. I thought I was hung up and maybe I was but when I got it free this little bass was on the other end. This was fishing from the bank too.
  7. Thanks for the link and info, went and ordered some of the jig heads so I can give Ned's Jig a try around here.
  8. Interesting little bait where can a person find out more about it?
  9. Your son will have a story to tell for a long time. How cool!
  10. I scratched the PSF80LMF2 it's made in Mexico & I much prefer USA made.
  11. I have a PS66ULF that I use for the light stuff and a PS70MF for the heaver stuff. Was looking at something in between and longer. I have even caught some 11" LMB on the UL and that can be fun.
  12. I am looking at 2 St Croix spinning rods for some pan fish fishing and maybe a bass not and again. It will be used both from the bank and a 16' jon boat. I'm looking at the following Premier PS86LM2 @ $130 Panfish Series PFS80LMF2 @150 Scratch this one it's made in Mexico The line weight and lure weight are the same for both, #4-#8 line and 1/16 to 5/16 for the Premier & 1/16 to 1/4 for the Panfish Series. I have 2 other St Croix rods both Premiers and I love the way they cast and they are very sensitive. I will be putting a Pluegar 20, 25 or 30 reel on it, probably a GX7-30 as I have one that I am not using currently. Anyone have any experience with either of these rods. Can't decide if the Panfish Series is worth the extra money. Both make in the USA which is a plus
  13. That's a little bit south of me, I wouldn't even take a motor boat in the Meramec right now. Sunday I saw a whole tree root ball and all floating down the river towards Hwy 21 bridge. Who know where it fell in the river. I agree you can't fix stupid.
  14. One of the high schools around Fenton has a fishing club I believe, I have seen them at a local lake. Another idea would be donate it to one of the groups that supports our troops. I know one such group locally, Midwest Marine Foundation has a nice little lake on their property where the guys go fishing while there. I can check and see if they take donations of fishing items.
  15. The wiki was an interesting read, didn't know that Overland had been around that long or the lake was the head water for River des Peres
  16. Got it, I will be getting this in the mail to you hopefully today. Thanks
  17. I'd check over at iBoats http://www.iboats.com/ there are articles there, forums and more. Might be able to get some instructions there. I know the tin boaters carpet their boats when adding decks etc. My jon boat has indoor/outdoor carpet from Lowes, stay away from it, not wearing good and it loves to grab hooks and suck them down into the fiber. Hopefully in the spring it will be coming out.

  19. Went back there today to do a little fishing. Was using a 1/4 oz white rooster tail by the front boat ramp, all I caught was a pair of sunglasses. Went on the river side of the ramp to free a snag and found a live basket that was in nice shape.
  20. Darn a week late, for me
  21. Have been looking for a reasonable priced spinning rod for fenease fishing weightless rigged senkos. For adeal at Dick's Sporting Goods for a St Croix Premier 7' MF Spinning Rod for $69.97 with Free shipping. Thought I would pass this along if someone else was looking for one.
  22. Might be, the post turned up being there and I just posted in the same thread without a problem. Cyber gremlins.......
  23. Today I caught a couple of bass, but when out in the boat and using minnows I have caught crappie, channel cat, & gar. A lot of people fish for cat and gar around there. Today there were some guys fishing for carp. I have caught carp over in the river but not in the lake. These are the 2 I caught today
