Wow gizzard shad are spawning already? Thought temps had to be in the 60's before that happens. Either way it's a good sign.

Are we talking crappie or bass? If bass, you must be doing something right. As I can't count all the bass I catch on one hand in any given day.

It's better up the rivers right now. But in a month it'll be good on the main lake flats. The lake has an ok population, not good numbers like Stockton or anything but better quality.

Yea I almost didn't wanna post up any reports or pictures, because I'm a tight lipped kinda guy when it comes to walleyes, but I got flack for taking info without giving any back so I posted. Hope I can be as good as some of you guys at catching the green fishes. I've gotten better by reading a lot of the posts on here so thought I'd give something back. Maybe one day I'll have a report of some nice greenies to post. Tight lines to all!

Megabass Vision 110. Go get a few in various colors. Must be by Megabass brand. They have the best.

Me and my buddy caught these last night at dusk from shore using a Megabass Vision 110 and Keitech swim baits. We only fished for 2 hours. Just good eater sizes, all from 18" to 23". Pea gravel and chunk rock banks facing the wind. That's enough secrets for today. I just wanted to change things up a little around here. Wanted to see something other than a "green fish" report. So there you have it.

Fished this morning with not a single bite. Did not see any fish swimming around either. Weather was cold this morning. Must've turned the fish off. Need a few 80 degree days to get the water temp back up & the fish should cooperate. Maybe next week. So if you're thinking about fishing this weekend, I'd wait til next week. I made an hour drive to get there and it wasn't worth it. Water still a bit cold for a wide open bite. I was throwing everything from purple swimming minnows to Alabama rigs to rattle traps and rooster tails. All of them in various colors. So obviously the fish aren't there yet. Hope this helps someone out and saves them a trip.

Not to be off topic, or derail this thread or anything, but has anyone had problems with scents lingering on their hands after using them on their lures?

Don't most of the plastic baits nowadays already have scent impregnated into them so why add any more scent? Wouldn't any added liquid scent wash away as soon as it hit the water and was retrieved?

I have a few nasal spray bottles lying around too. I'm afraid if I do the same thing, I'll get home and empty my pockets on my dresser, wake up half asleep at night and need to clear my nostrils and see the bottle on my dresser and think "oh there's my nasal spray....." SQUIRTTTT!!!

Do you remember what video that was of the bikini girl throwing that net? I want to learn how to throw a net too. All of a sudden.

Wow the double uni beat the Albright? I got to see this as I find that hard to believe. Where's the link for the video? I never use the double uni in fear of it slipping on me since braid can be very slick. Edit: Nevermind, I was thinking of the blood knot, not the double uni.

I was reading an article on In-Fisherman.com about using scents for bass fishing and was wondering if you guys have had success in the past using scents? Do they work is it just another gimmick?

Like hoglaw said, they might just be too busy chasing each other around rather than eating. Same thing my buddies saw when they were there this morning. Threw everything at them and not one bite. Could be a number of factors, water temp, wrong bait, weather, etc. My only advice is keep trying, because they can turn on at anytime. That's just how those fish are.

Just curious to see what you guys are catching out on the Rock as far as average size of largemouth bass?

Thanks for the report Ryan. Looks like we might be down there soon to try our luck at some whites and walleye. Nice walleye! They sure do eat good. Has the water come down any? Heard it was rather high a couple days ago. How's the water clarity?

I'll let you finish, and don't mean to one up you.....but while fishing yesterday I caught a 5lb, 4lb, and 7lb but my line snapped on me so I couldn't bring him in. Then my boss walked in the door and I turned off my phone and got back to work.

A lot of very good fish on the board so far.
